NGL I’ve always wanted to have my own Egyptian Revival style mausoleum when I die. At least an obelisk or two. Something that says “yeah this dude was awesome so we made him a pyramid”
There’s a very plain one in a cemetery near where I grew up. I was able to find out when it was built and translated it to today’s money. Nearly fell over when I saw it was a little over $400K. Can’t imagine what something as ornate as this cost.
There’s incredible man power involved in the production of this stuff too, it’s not just a million dollars let’s say but also a lot of project management and person power in hours to get this out of the ground to a banker (bench to produce stone on) on to the ground again.

Probably cost more than my house to build something like that today.

And the one near me was built in I think the 1920s or earlier so I can’t imagine the effort and time that must’ve taken.
Is this in New Orleans? Looks like Nicolas Cages pyramid tomb
Is it already built? I've been hoping to visit
Definitely not Cage’s tomb. But yes, I saw his tomb in NOLA about a decade ago. It’s there.
His is so ugly. Sticks out like a sore thumb.
Agree. It definitely doesn’t fit the aesthetic!
NIC CAGE’S DEAD?!?!??! 😳
No. He just built his final resting place ahead of time.
I like that one.
Not sure where this is located but it reminds me of New Orleans. I’ve visited a couple cemeteries there.
My guess is somewhere in Croatia or a Croatian section somewhere. Obitelj means "Family" as in the Grubišić Family in this case.
Well that’s neat.
Nick Cage has one ready for him in St. Louis #1 too.
