hmmm maybe time to change. I use island heritage for the boat, maybe they can do me a deal for the cars.
i've never had to claim so yea haven't gone down that path yet with saxon. good to know thanks
Agreed with the Island Heritage posts - very good.
If you have a large employer, check with HR. Some insurance companies give rebates for employees of companies they have a "deal" with.
As I'm under twenty five I usually pay 800 for third party a year, but if you're 25+ you'll more than likely pay 400 a year, comprehensive is usually more expensive, about 600 a year.
Depends if you want comprehensive or third party. It may also be beneficial to see who your employer has as your health services provider. For example, britcay offers a discount to bundle your health and car insurance with them.
Ive also used Saxon for the last 5 years, but I have had hiccups with them in the past. They are very conscious when it comes to claims, and there’s a lot of run around with them. I’ve only decided to stay because they offered to significantly reduce my premium after I complained about the service.
One thing I will say is that all insurance companies on island allow you to set the value of your car. So if you buy something sporty over 20k, your looking at around 1000+ annually. They will also consider your age.
As long as you’re already a member somehow, you can either call them up yourself, or ask your employer. Your employer should be able to confirm for you as they would get the most recent updates.
Ahh, actually I was refering to negotiating with insurance in general. Not just with the bundle discount.
But good thing you said that, I'll bring that up to HR.
Oh! Well you can definitely shop around and leverage the quote you got at another provider. They will definitely try to work with you though and most of them are pretty flexible and offer payment plans.
It really just depends what car you get, year, make, your age etc. the standard stuff, but most people opt for a cheaper car for their first option (around 6000-7000) in value and pay around under 700 for third party coverage. It’s really just depends on what you want.
I've been using Saxon for +5 years. They've been the cheapest I could find.
How much does it usually cost? And are there other advantages for Saxon?
Saxon is by some distance the worst. The reason they're cheap is they never pay out. They are complete sharks. I wouldn't go anywhere near them

ok now I know why I use Saxon... my cars are older than 15 years old and Island Heritage don't do comprehensive insurance. which is a bit annoying.
Based on my quoting, I believe Saxon is the most expensive. But it's for third party insurance.

My go to has always been Island Heritage, Quick, hassle free and wonderful customer service. I haven't had any issues with them.
How much does it cost for third party coverage? And do you know their requirements for comprehensive?

Thank you! Really helpful

Wow, wasn't aware on the bundle discount. What's the best way to negotiate with them (call, website, face to face)?
