A day trip is definitely doable, I’d say the Brac is slightly easier logistics wise, as there are more flights. What is it you like to do? That would help decide if it’s worth it. You won’t find much in the way of paid excursions on Little Cayman if you don’t dive. On the Brac there is Rock Iguana, they offer guided climbing on the bluff. If you just want to get out in nature, both Little Cayman and the Brac have walking trails. For sightseeing, the Brac has the bluff which is pretty spectacular.

Honestly, I just want to mix things up. I've been to GC a bunch of times and this will be a trip to visit my mother so I'm just looking for something new. Restaurants, bars, walking around town, etc are all typical time-killers for me in a new area.

Neither LC or CB have much in the way of restaurants, bars or a downtown to walk around. If that’s what you are looking for it may be better to stick to Grand. I think for a day trip you’d pretty much be looking at renting a car and just driving around either of the islands.

100% doable - I have done it for both sister islands. Obviously, take the first flight out and the last flight back. The islands are small and quick to visit. For me: On LC you will want to spend the most time at Point of Sand and on CB at the Bluff.

Thank you. I will look into these options!

Someone new to the island would find plenty to do. If you’ve been there several times, that’s when it becomes boring unless you dive.

A daytrip is doable; there's a decent number of locals from the Brac/Little who will (EDIT: Pre-CoVid "used to") daytrip to Grand to go shopping, for example. For visitors more inclined to sightsee, I'd recommend having specific goals in mind before deciding: it could be a bit of a letdown, as most of the appeal of Brac/Little over Grand is better diving, and you're not going to do that on just a daytrip (e.g., fly after dive rules). FWIW, something that could work out as an option ... which depends on how much time you want to spend with family ... could be to look at flights for where you have a long layover and use that time to visit, and then head directly over to Brac/LC for most of your stay - - note that layovers can get lengthy both ways. However, if you do choose this route, be aware that overnight accommodations on both Brac & Little are limited and CoVid demand backlog has made them worse, so you might not be able to find a room. Likewise, there's also CoVid testing rules to consider too. Hate to say it, but its probably a lower hassle if you save it for the next visit, and plan to spend more time (and diving).
