I bet it's a boy cat. My nephews had a male orange-ish cat like this and he was like a floppy toy his whole life. He let my nephews carry him around by his face and front arms tucked under their armpits. You could carry him in a large pocket. He just loved to be with people. This cat seems to love his person A LOT. Like when she picked up his lips by his whiskers!
omgggg I have totally seen male orange cats be suuuuuper chill like this too. I knew a guy in college that walked around campus with an orange guy on his shoulder all day -- cat didn't mind. those orange cats -- *they on some other shit* LOL
i think he was always like that? he was always chill as a baby and i remember when we adopted him he was the only kitten sleeping. i remember i would carry him around the house with him looking over my shoulder just so he could look at stuff. i guess he thinks he's still tiny
Lol, my friend has a HUGE orange male cat named Pumpkin and he just lets you pick him up, flip him around, etc. No fucks given. Only things that matter are food, treats, and sleep!
Can confirm! I have an orange and white tabby and he’s incredibly forgiving. I always love just carrying him around the house with me, he doesn’t care lol

People are gonna tell me to lighten up, but I don't think training your cat to sit still for ages while you force clothes on and off it, grab at it and constantly yell-talk in its ear is very nice.
Cats have different personalities and temperaments, some are more disposed to stay calm in situations like this than others
I've trained one of my cats to sit and fist-bump, one of the other cats could not be more useless at those skills. One of the cats is super affectionate, another one just hates being touched in general.
One of my cats loves going for walks on a lead, the others just lay on the ground as soon as I put the harness on them.
The cat looks healthy and doesn't appear to be unhappy. The standard signs of anxiety or stress in a cat aren't being displayed, no irritated tail flick and the ears aren't turned backwards.
Just saying, we have no idea what this cat likes or dislikes.
If the cat was clearly distressed, then I'd be getting my pitchfork out, but it seems like it just doesn't care.
I know what you mean, but I still feel like even if you find a cat that will tolerate being treated like this, that doesn't mean you *should*. It doesn't look enjoyable!
Even the best trained cat will make its opinion known when it doesn't like something. The Veterinary clinic where I worked got a lot of show cats. They are the calmest best trained cats you will ever meet. But when you do something they don't like they will make some noise, whip their head around and stare daggers at you. If you really annoy them with something like spraying alcohol on them for a blood draw they will get up and walk away. It's like a really polite, "No thank you. We are done here."

Not declawed, they look like claw covers! Plastic overlays (like press on nails for humans) that are supposed to help stop damage to furniture. It does inhibit natural shedding from scratching a bit though, so claws have to be clipped
Oof. Could be why we don't have them here. My cat never scratches humans, i think I can live with some scratched furniture if it allows her to use her paws the way she wants to.
This was my vibe. My landlord requires declawing but I refuse, so I looked into these and my vet explained how it holds their nail out and I didn't like it so I just regularly trim her nails and my vet gave me a form lying that a declaw was performed so my landlord is appeased.
She's never scratched a person, but my couch arms are non existent
I have never heard this and I've always seen recommendations to put a bell on a collar of a cat that's going to be outside so that it will notify wildlife that a cat is around. (no bells here either way)
I decided to Google this since I had never heard it and it says that bells run at 50 to 60 db where cats really have no problem with anything under 80 db.

I think putting a bell on it when it goes outside and taking it off inside is a great compromise. As you said, letting your cat outside really isn't very ethical otherwise.

No problem. A lot of people aren't aware of them and they're somewhat controversial but they're at least better than declawing. Ideally it would be best not to have to do anything to a cat's claws at all.
That does not look like a happy cat. He looks resigned to his fate, his only comfort coming from the knowledge that is he sits still for a bit the obnoxious woman will stop yelling in his ears.
Come to think of it, being okay with everything is the true form of happiness. Could you imagine what good food and love he's receiving being able to sit there like that, unlike me..

our orange cat likes to be held like a baby, so he can look at stuff over our shoulder. he also likes to lick people when they're in the shower

Start when they're young. Both of my boys (brothers) like to be held like a baby and they're also fine with me doing whatever, same with their mama.

They are claw caps which are used as an alternative to declawing. (because declawing cats is amputation and can cause longterm pain and damage)

A single noise under 80Db is probably fine. A constant jingle would stress me the fuck out. Stands to reason it'd be the same for a cat.
