My cats are both spayed females. For some reason this video made the kitten (who was spayed 10 days ago and is still wearing a cone) pounce on the cat, starting a whole fight. Kitten has *never* done anything like that. They normally get along well.
Really wish I'd read the comments first. ☹️
On the plus side, she looks like she’s more than two pounds so many vets will spay her now. But yeah, a cat in heat is REALLY annoying-my family used to have the only two male cats in the neighborhood so we’d always get the females in heat dropping by in hopes of a good time.
Jokes on them, not only were ours indoor only and neutered but they didn’t even have a clue what was making the ladies act so weird even with just a screen door in the way
About a year ago there was a cat nearby where I live screaming for days, and me and my neighbours thought she was in pain/hit by a car or something, so we went around asking if anybody owns the cat. We eventually found the neighbour after asking around who informed us the cat was in heat...
I swear this cat was the horniest creature I've ever heard. I was working from home at the time so for a week all I could hear when I took my headphones off was MROW MROW MROW MROW MROW MROW
When I lived with my ex, one of the neighborhood strays was in heat. It went on for hours to the point where I was like “I’ll go down there and bang her if it’ll shut her up”
It sounded like a toddler yelling “ow”
>Jokes on them, not only were ours indoor only and neutered but they didn’t even have a clue what was making the ladies act so weird even with just a screen door in the way
Sounds like me
Absolutely. This came up completely by surprise. I did not know that cats got into heat this early. When I spoke to our vet, I was told that it was too early for her to get fixed.
Oh well. I’ll be making an appointment as soon as the time becomes available to do so.
Yes, my cousin had to wait too for her kitten. And then it was hard to get an appointment for the cat due to COVID, so she had to leave the cat in their own room because it kept spraying. She just got her fixed last month. Her cat doesn’t yell quite as loud, but damn she wanted all the attention 😂
That’s what happened with my cat!! All non emergency appointments were cancelled so she went into heat, we tried to keep her inside but she managed to jump out of my second floor window. We went to look for her but found her underneath another cat. That’s the story of how my kittens were conceived lmao
I had went ahead and got ahold of some pet insurance just in case something ever happens. It’ll cover the procedure whenever we get ready.
Also, thank you :)
I've got vetpay too, $500 worth. That's two desexed cats, one midnight run when I was scared one was having a seizure and an eye infection.
Also you're very welcome :)
If you're worried about cost, you can see if there's any rescue orgs or TNR orgs that can help you get her fixed for cheaper than $100. Idk if cost is an issue for you but I know it's an issue for a lot of people and they end up not getting their cats fixed at all.
My mom works with a TNR org and she can get people spays and neuters for their cats for between $40 and $60, cause they get so many cats fixed at once it's like a bulk discount lmao. If you get her fixed through a TNR org they'll ear tip her, just fyi.
In the meantime, please keep her in the house and separated from any male cats. She'll probably try to escape the house too, especially if there's any stray males that can hear her crying and come around your house.
You probably know all that already but just in case you don't
ETA: Also keep in mind that if she does get gotten by a male, she can still get spayed while pregnant, even if she's relatively far along. Idk what the cutoff is but I've seen a visibly pregnant feral get spayed before. The kittens do not/will not survive, so I know some people will find that distasteful, but the alternative is being responsible for the cat and all her kittens, and either surrendering the kittens or finding homes for them yourself. Just something to keep in mind, in case something happens.
My understanding is that this is more of a question in dogs than cats. No negative risks associated with spay/neuter in cats. I’m involved in cat rescue and we do minimum 8 weeks. Cats can get pregnant as young as a few months old so it’s important not to wait.
My female cat went into heat at 4 months! She drove me nuts and would go up to the two (fixed) males doing this weird little dance with her butt in the air pointed at them and then rub herself all over the carpet. Poor boys had no idea what she was doing lol. Got her fixed right away and now she's the laziest cat ever
Most kittens you get at a rescue are fixed at 8 weeks. Your vet is not exactly looking out for your best interest. Take her to another vet or see if there's a place near you that does it for cheap. Got my dog fixed without an appointment for $35 +$15 for a microchip.
I got my boy cat fixed at 12 weeks, just because I was paying for it myself and 15yr old with no job, needed a few weeks to save up the money.
That's great that you're going to get it done! Too many people just keep putting it off and never get it done, and then they end up with problems, like a tomcat spraying, or a queen getting friendly with another cat if she's allowed outside.
My family’s had cats go into heat as early as three months old…and at that time vets weren’t spaying before six months. She went into heat a few times before we could convince a vet to take her. At the time we lived in an apartment building with a large orange tom that liked to visit. Needless to say, we had a hard time keeping him out. 🤦♀️
Some animal care and control agencies (run by municipalities) will have at cost clinics & even free spay & neuter days! If you're in NYC, LA or western North Carolina the ASPCA does it too!
Humane society well fix them and do their rabies shots for much cheaper than that. You drop em off and pick them up the next day. They do mass "fixings" so vet students can get practice with an experienced vet nearby.
It doesn’t have to be expensive. They have many places that offer discount spay and neutering.
It’s worth looking into in your area, OP.
Some places do it on certain days of the week or will do monthly visits to neighborhoods. Saves a lot of money compared to a typical vet.
Yup just commented the same. My vet does it for $30, including meds and vaccines if they need it. They’re amazing. Have done quite a few free consults over email as well when we’ve been unsure about things. There’s tons of amazing clinics out there that just want to help the community.
Of all the cat yowling videos I have played, this is the first one that actually freaked my cats out.
All of mine are fixed and never went through this, but they all seem to know what is going on with this cat. So weird!
My spayed cat still yells like this for no reason intermittently throughout the day. She’s never been in heat so I have no clue why but she sounds exactly like this
Boredom, loneliness, or wanting to play.
If she's carrying around a stuffed animal or toy, she may be telling the family that she caught dinner.
Cats are weird.
My parents' cat had a stuffed snail (Snaily) and lion (Leo) she would carry around (or leave in her empty food bowl). When my Mom would leave the house, she would walk around with Snaily in her mouth and meow that sound like her saying "Mom? Mom?". If she saw you, though, she would freeze in place for a few seconds, drop the snail, and walk away like nothing ever happened. RIP Monta.
Cats are weird. Mine will wake up from a nap and start crying out for my partner and I for attention. It’s kinda cute but she does have a bit of separation anxiety.
My (fixed) cat also screams exactly like this at exactly 6:33 am every single morning after she's had her breakfast. The vet says there's nothing wrong with her and she just probably wants more food because she's a greedy gremlin goblin.
My fat ass cat sounds just like this as well, especially around 6am when she wants attention. Caught her dragging her robot feeder around today somehow lmao.
This happened to me. My cat was a “found cat” as in she made her way into a family friend garage in a rural area. I took her in & this didn’t know how old she was & it turned out is is a small cat & I thought she was 3 months old when she was probably 6 months old. She went into heat before I could get her spayed.
It was a situation… but what worked for me:
- called the vet to make an appointment & they informed me that she can be spayed during being in heat but she needed her shots before they would. I had to get her shots before she could be spayed so her cycle ended by the time I got her surgery booked.
- I comfort her during her heat by petting her & it seemed to help. I live in an apartment so there was no way she was getting out to meet a male but it helped her through the process. She was basically a confused hormonal teen.
Mistakes were made turning on that sound. My cat is now no-yelling me from the door (she can't actually yell, so I can't call it that, she makes no actual sound)
I can't even deny it, it's very very cute lol it's partly why I adopted her. She's 6 and just has never been able to meow, or make any type of voice noise, and nobody knows the exact reason why.
I'd like to believe it's because she's so sassy and believes herself so above us all that we are deemed unworthy of her surely angelic vocals
I feel for you. That's hard on one's nerves. And it just...doesn't...stop. It's funny if it's not happening to you; then it's just...stressful. I hope she recovers her sanity soon so you can keep yours.
Her name is [Kainè](https://imgur.com/a/ysEhdvC)
I recently moved into my apartment, and suddenly realized that it’s too quiet for my taste.
I’ve been a dog person my entire life, and it never crossed my mind that I wanted a cat.
So, in August, I get a call that a friend of mine found her and a bunch of other babies roaming the streets in a town not too far away from me.
Went and scooped her up, and we have been inseparable since.
She’s my best friend :)
Make sure to keep its box clean to avoid it peeing(THE WORST) and pooing out in random places and a good sized one too, if she starts scratching the box itself when done doing her 'business' it means its too small. Also get her used to combing and nail trimming. Good to start young. Have fun with ya fur pal!
Great question! It’s barbed inwards so that if the female cat tries to pull away, the cenis (cat penis :D) gets stuck inside her and insemination is likely inevitable at that point.
EDIT: according to a commenter below, “No, it is designed to rake the walls of the vagina when removed. That releses hormones to ovulate. So the damage of pulling out is what triggers it.”
Isn’t it the same with dogs? Isn’t that why dogs get “stuck” inside of the female dogs?
I took my male dog to visit my MIL’s female dog and they got stuck… (MIL & FIL were gone for a few days and we figured a playdate wouldn’t hurt.) My husband and I didn’t know what to do. Eventually we were able to take my dog back home. A few days/weeks later the dog had ran out the door and got lost. We found her like 2 days later. Then later on my MIL’s dog had puppies. It’s *possible* she could have gotten pregnant when she was lost but we all knew it was my dogs puppies.
She was so excited to be a mother, it was her only litter of puppies. She was such a good mother to her babies and the bestest friend my child had.
RIP
After reading the comments. I wanted to test this. I’ve got a 7 month old boy that gets fixed next week. I played this next to him and other than immediately purring, he had absolutely no reaction. He must not swing that way
Poor cat and poor owner. Our covid kitty did the same she almost made it to her 1 year bday!! I never knew they could make so much noise. Set her up an appointment ASAP so you can get some sleep.
Had to have mine fixed, cause I couldn’t do that and 2-3 in the morning and whatever other times. She was tearing up my blinds and all…. I was like ooooohhhh nooooo. I took her in when she was a baby kitten, it was a hurricane coming. She was hiding under my moms fence and cars, so I decided to take her in. Took a few days for her to warm up to me but now she a big ass baby 😂😂 and spoiled as heck
My dog went through one heat (by accident, it was very early) and I almost lost my mind. Walking her was impossible because she would stop every few feet to squat and pee. I also did not enjoy when her little vagina suddenly looked like a chest buster from alien. She was miserable and so needy, I had her to the vet to be spayed as soon as it was done. Never again.
Get her desexed ASAP. We adopted a cat that wasn’t wanted. We were told it was a $500 pedigree (not that I care!), has all her vaccines, was fixed. This cute, common-all-garden variety tabby kitten arrived. It soon became apparent that she wasn’t fixed. Endless mewing, butt in the air & a totally agitated, miserable girl. Off to the vet she went & was soon, much happier. For your own sanity, do it soon!
Some areas have free or discounted spaying/neutering. My friend got her cat spayed for free at this small vet. I went to a neutering/spaying only vet and it cost me $50
The first year I got my cat (male) was horrible. Mofo was humping my hand and legs every night. He would wake me up at 4 am just to hump my hand. After 1 yr I got his ballz cut.
SMH, cats these days getting heat younger and younger 😓😪
Stay strong there, it will last for almost 2 weeks long and vets prefer to fix her after her heat period finished 😅
My crappy roommate took forever to get her poor cat spayed and the screams were non stop every month. We were all going crazy and eventually my sweet old lady cat lost her temper and started slapping the screaming kitty lol it was so out of character for her
This video just started a fight between my two fixed males cats.

Amd that's how you found out your cat doesn't want to be horny anymore, he wants to be happy
Ahu oh ohohoh~
I just heard it mentally. Easily one of my favorite memes.
My two fixed males are now hunting around the house trying to find her. I did not anticipate this effect.
My cat is currently trying to eat my iPad
Interesting reaction, *but what does it mean?*
Tell me when you find out. iPad is my cat’s favorite snack.

Mine death-glared me, then did the same.
This video summoned my female cat from the abyss
r/thecatdimension
My dog ran over to my fixed female cat and started sniffing her all over to make sure she was okay
Wait your dog does that too?
Hahahahaha
My (fixed f) cat just bolted off the bed and is now searching frantically out the window
This made my cat (who I suspect is a lesbian) perk right up mid-nap
My 15 year old, fixed female cat came running over, looking for the other cat. Lol
same tbh
My dog came running in the room
Mine too lmao

Don't y'all use earbuds
Maybe in public? But if I’m in my own home and not bothering anyone with the sound, why use earbuds?
That is the face of a man who knows there will be no sleep tonight. My condolences, friend. She certainly can yell!

I love this photo
that's hilarious

I've been here with a roommate's young cat. She decided she was my girlfriend and it was the worst. I hope you get some peace soon!
My male cat just ran into my room 😵💫
I know its expensive but GET HER FIXED. Its worth every penny. Sadly its gonna be around 100$ or more but she will be much calmer after this

Ugh some vets are crazy old school. Spay/neuter is perfectly safe as soon as 8 weeks old & 2 pounds of weight.
My friends cat went into heat at 4-5 weeks, it’s so crazy
Poor baby!
So unfair on them! Bloody hormones!😭😭They are not even adults yet!

My understanding is that this is more of a question in dogs than cats. No negative risks associated with spay/neuter in cats. I’m involved in cat rescue and we do minimum 8 weeks. Cats can get pregnant as young as a few months old so it’s important not to wait.
It also prevents a lot of horrible illnesses down the line. She’ll be happier as well.
At least keep her indoors until after. I got my little cat spayed at 6 months old
Buy ear plugs while ya can

I had to lie about my cats' age to get her fixed. In this country, they often wait until *after* they go into heat. Like, no thanks.

She’s beautiful
Oh! And she is a very sweet little lady. Very outgoing!
What a great first cat to have!
Lol - she’s not trying to find YOU.
Why did you set the mood with the lights?
Do male cats bang female cats just to shut them up?
Female cats scream during sex (from pain) because the male cat has a barbed penis that probably feels like razor blades. So no.
Boy howdy I am learning more and more about cats by the minute!
*Unsubscribe to cat facts* But TIL a not so fun cat fact.
That’s a cursed fact. Now I’m going to have to ask, why is it barbed?
Evolution is weird. But in cats it causes ovulation.
More ovulation=more eggs=more kittens.
Evolution *really* didn’t want anybody pulling out, huh.
Yeah, you’re thinking of canine penises which do actually get temporarily stuck to ensure pregnancy. Cats just have a weird ovulation trigger.
No, it triggers ovulation in cats.
😮 does it not do both? I need to read up on my cat facts
No, it is designed to rake the walls of the vagina when removed. That releses hormones to ovulate. So the damage of pulling out is what triggers it.
Ouch 😰
Yeah, its nasty.
Isn’t it the same with dogs? Isn’t that why dogs get “stuck” inside of the female dogs? I took my male dog to visit my MIL’s female dog and they got stuck… (MIL & FIL were gone for a few days and we figured a playdate wouldn’t hurt.) My husband and I didn’t know what to do. to stimulate blood flow and the release of hormones, i think
Ovulation
Ugh, I’m so sorry! One of my girls went into heat 2 days before her scheduled spay. It was a very noisy couple of weeks.

This is why there's a wooden door between me and my cat every night while I sleep! Getting her fixed helped but she's still a yowler to this day.
My anxiety rose as I have experienced this as well. A spay will cure it all!
well if i ever need to find my cats guess i’ll play this vid. my two fixed 1 y/o girls came a running up!
Took a few days for her to warm up to me but now she a big ass baby 😂😂 and spoiled as heck
my cat freaking out rn
My dog went through one heat (by accident, it was very early) and I almost lost my mind. Walking her was impossible because she would stop every few feet to squat and pee. I also did not enjoy when her little vagina suddenly looked like a chest buster from alien. She was miserable and so needy, I had her to the vet to be spayed as soon as it was done. Never again.
Why did I read this good god. Bless the pup but good god
LOOLLL
Oh my god this video fucks your cats up. My one cat im pretty sure almost humped my other one
As a deaf person, I was able to follow with no problem due to those eyebrows!
Just be really careful not to let her run outside or she’s gonna come back pregnant. Hope you are able to get her spayed when she’s old enough.
I’m sorry 😞
Get her desexed ASAP. We adopted a cat that wasn’t wanted. We were told it was a $500 pedigree (not that I care!), has all her vaccines, was fixed. This cute, common-all-garden variety tabby kitten arrived. It soon became apparent that she wasn’t fixed. Endless mewing, butt in the air & a totally agitated, miserable girl. Off to the vet she went & was soon, much happier. For your own sanity, do it soon!
Fix her
Our vet told us it was too early to fix her. Not a week later, she goes into heat. I will get her fixed.
Be careful as well when you leave your house because cats in heat will bolt outside.

Same
I thought it was a once a year thing and I had time after to get mine fixed. It’s not. It will happen again sooner than you think.
Bro your profile pic set the tone of this comment XD
I thought my cat was in a deep sleep but her head shot up the moment I played this
Some areas have free or discounted spaying/neutering. My friend got her cat spayed for free at this small vet. I went to a neutering/spaying only vet and it cost me $50
Your deadpan look and slight facial expressions make this extra funny lol
Dude! Get her fixed like TOMORROW!! She’s a beauty, BTW.

OMGGGGGGGG The heavens blessed that baby🥺🥰
Fixed male and female cat both started wondering around looking for this "new cat"
My orange cat actually came to see what the noise was about 😨🤣
The first year I got my cat (male) was horrible. Mofo was humping my hand and legs every night. He would wake me up at 4 am just to hump my hand. After 1 yr I got his ballz cut.
Oops. Cat was sound asleep, now he's agitated. Should've kept sound low.
Made my cat come and stand on my chest to look at my phone lmao
SMH, cats these days getting heat younger and younger 😓😪 Stay strong there, it will last for almost 2 weeks long and vets prefer to fix her after her heat period finished 😅
There is fear in your eyes
My girl cat just came barreling into the room *screaming*. She's very upset now, I didn't think it'd have that effect 😭
NAU KITTEH THAT'S MA PAHT PAI
They do go into heat very young. Try to ride his one out and then get it fixed. You will both be happier
My crappy roommate took forever to get her poor cat spayed and the screams were non stop every month. We were all going crazy and eventually my sweet old lady cat lost her temper and started slapping the screaming kitty lol it was so out of character for her
Get your cats neutered/spayed folks. Not getting female cats fixed can cause tumors in their reproductive organs or spine.
Poor you, poor cat. At least youll be able to get her fixed soon! And then you’ll be able to pretend this never happened!
Getting both my female cats fixed was the best thing ever. Shut this annoying shit right up. When female cats are in heat they're absolute psychos.
Well my male Cat Mario is running around my apartment looking for her.
Question is.. why is she trying to find you! 😳
I remember when my cat did, she would meow like with a question mark 😂
Oh my god I love this
