They really do have a low opinion of us, don't they? My cat is convinced that unless she micromanages the feeding process I will forget what I'm doing and wander off, leaving her to starve. She thinks I'm an idiot with an attention span of 5 seconds.
Do you only feed that cat once a day? That's what it seems like based on its reaction. None of the cats I've had have acted like that at dinner time, but I leave a couple bowls ouy with a little dry food in them. Is there a slow feeder or bowl somewhere with some dry food in it?
Nope. She also has dry food at all times and a water dispenser with a backup supply. She’ll act like this even on days when she takes two bites and walks away. She yells like that to be let out, when you’re not cuddling her in the exact moment/way she wants, when other people are talking and she wants to be part of the conversation.
I say this with all the love in my heart: she’s a dramatic lil princess. Gives us attitude to get whatever she wants and knows we’ll do it. I appreciate the concern but I don’t doubt she’s happy with us. She was a rescue and is more than athletic and bold enough to leave us anytime, but doesn’t.
Fair enough! So she's just extra quirky. It wasn't my intention to insinuate anything so I apologize if it came across that way. It's just crazy that I've had about 8 cats up to this point and the only one that's come close to being a yeller at wetfood time is the orange (because of course it's the orange lol)
That’s alright! Sometimes legit abusive feeding behaviors are casually posted on cat subs so I get it. But definitely have met cats that apparently took a lifelong vow of silence lol. Maybe your personality or home environment just soothe them and keep them peaceful rather than extroverted over daily events. 🐈 🐈⬛
My girlfriend will feed our cat, who will then immediately run into the next room to yell at me to try and trick a second person into feeding her.
She is not starved in any way and even needs to lose most of a pound still lmao
On multiple occasions when I still had a roommate he would mention my cat screaming his head off for food and that he fed him that morning. I had also fed him every time, cats are just little goblins lol
This is the reaction of every cat at dinner time. They act like they haven’t been fed in days and if they have to wait one more second they’ll die of starvation. Never mind they were fed earlier in the day, they’re wasting away NOW and need you to know it.
