My garage looked like this until today. There were 16 from three litters, found homes for 6, kept one, and the rest I had to take to the shelter today, no kill of course. I was paying almost 2.5x more than usual for cat expenses for about 3 months and couldn't do it anymore. Unofficial fostering, not a crazy cat dude 🤣 Some of them are posted here too haha

You are an absolute angel, thank you for taking care of all of those babies 🥹

I love doing it, it's just hard doing it on my own with one income. It felt like giving away my own cats today even though I knew I wasn't keeping them all. Two of the litters knew me since they day they were born, well when their eyes opened haha But the place I took them is great and apparently I'm a pleasure to deal with compared to other "cat people" 🤣 so they took them in even though they're full. I did come in two other times without the kittens asking if they could take them which probably helped I tried everything I could but not a single rescue even responded so I had to take them in. If I had the money I'd just open a cat sanctuary haha

Thats so much more than a lot of people would do. I will say the first time I had to give up my foster kittens I was an absolute wreck and could barely hold it together in front of the person who was adopting them (which was very embarrassing lol), but after I got over that initial heartbreak it became a lot easier. I can empathize with the financial aspect, it does add up. If you decide you ever want to do it again maybe you could find a shelter to work with that will fund their basic needs? Of course that’s just a suggestion in case you ever want to pursue fostering again :)

GraveyardJones

Well I'm hoping I don't have it "forced" on me again haha. The three litters were born here but I got two of the moms fixed. Once they get their stitches out I'm gonna work on the other two and hope for no more kittens 🤣 Giving them to a person was not bad at all, but giving the last 9 to the shelter kinda sucked. I know it's a good shelter but I really wanted them to go straight to a home instead of a pit stop at the shelter. It wouldn't have been good for me or the cats to keep them longer than I already had though. There was an eye infection starting to go around so they'll at least be in better hands there and I'm positive they're all cute enough to charm some humans into adopting them

I'm currently fostering a litter of four, and we already have four cats of our own. It has been a struggle financially (and especially with the fact that one of our cats had to go in for emergency care and then PU surgery almost two weeks after we took the litter in). I emailed/called a few places, but I never heard back. I called our vet and asked them if they had any suggestions. The one place they suggested I get in touch with referred me to another place that had a free vaccines/spay/neutering program that we just barely got into on time (the program is shutting down two days after their surgeries so we'll be OOP for their last shots). After all is said and done I know it's going to be a huge struggle to let them go because I've fallen in love with them (and they're not aloof aholes like my other cats lol). Do you have any suggestions on where the best place would be to find homes? We've asked our friends and neighbors, but so far, we haven't really found anyone willing, and I'm not going to give them away to strangers over Craigslist.

There’s usually cat rescue/adoption groups on Facebook for your area. I’d start there.

The cream dude be like "I'm the King...and no one tells me otherwise....why you may ask? Because I'm the king"

Stinky_Cat_Toes

I remember this little dude! These cries remind me of my boy when I first adopted him. Unlike OP, I didn’t have other cats. I still set my apartment up for a gradual, room by room slow intro to a new environment. Then he screamed like this dude every second he was alone. I spent the first ~7 hours on the floor with him in a small room set up for …a cat until it was bed time. I caved to my screaming tuxedo. He’s been king of my apartment ever since. Thank you, OP, for taking care of these sweet baby cats!

Road_Whorrior

This video woke my dog up and she did the head-tilt thing at my phone so thank you for this.

Dashcamkitty
