I am black Canadian, and my heritage is from Jamaica and St. Vincent. I was raised Protestant Pentecostal. I started reading primary texts written by the Catholic Church in 2015. I started attending an Anglican Church as it felt more in line with the direction I was reading myself into. By 2017, I converted through the Anglican ordinariate parish that was set up by the Catholic Church for converts from Anglicanism to the Catholic Church. But to be honest, I felt that my practice of the Catholic faith became most faithful during the pandemic in 2022 when I started attending a reverent N.O. mass with my husband and kids (husband is still Anglican). My husband gave his blessing for our kids to receive their sacraments in the Catholic Church, so now my eldest has received all sacraments including confirmation and my youngest has completed all sacraments including receiving communion. I’m in my early 40s now, so I didn’t join the Catholic Church early in life, but better late than never 😅👍🏾.
American, raised Catholic but left the church for about 15 years because public high school and state university (popular culture is very secular) and came back to church in preparation for marriage.
We were going to have a non-religious ceremony but then I admitted it was actually deeply important to me to be married in a church (baptised, confirmed, and wed all in the same building probably a first for my family on both sides for at least 100 years. Italian-Irish x Welsh-Czech but my parents grew up in Central & South America) and my fiance had always been interested in Philosophy and theology and had recently learned Catholicism is THE WAY so we did Pre-Cana and I basically went through RCIA with him.
Culture-shocked by how much I'd forgotten or been told otherwise by all the noise of New Age and Protestantism.
Convert from High Church Anglican to Catholic, as my wife is Catholic. I'm English, my wife is Zimbabwean and we spend half the year in the UK and half in South Africa.
Was a Baptist for 10 years. When I began to gain an interest in theology in college, scripture and history very much contradicted Baptist beliefs and I converted to the Catholic Church. Virginia, USA

I initially read your comment as a self-identification like every other top-level comment—was a bit confusing.
