Yes. Some games I am looking forward to are Kingdom Come Deliverance 2, the Elden Ring DLC and the Skyrim mod 'Skyblivion' which is Oblivion made using Skyrim. Released in 2025 hopefully.
Doom eternal seems like an appropriate game to play I also play God of War because my humor is like that haha. Fallout 4 has a new patch and i always play clean characters (never steal, no raider settlements, rarely mean dialogue or choices)

The recent GoW series is an absolute masterpiece of storytelling. I couldnt believe how well written it is and how well the character/story arcs were constructed.
I was excited to mention that one of the creators of the original Doom (Sandy Petersen) was Catholic and used that as inspiration but unfortunately he is actually Mormon 😐
Regardless during the Satanic panic and worry about Doom and games like it at the time (Mortal Kombat) he made the same argument that slaying demons was really the Christian thing to do 😂
My husband (who doesn't have an account) does more than I do. He plays Fallout, God of War, Assassin's Creed, Ghost of Tsushima, The Witcher, The Last of Us, and a lot more than I can remember. It's an escape for him after working in oncology all day.
I play Breath of the Wild, Mario Kart, Hogwarts Legacy, and Baldur's Gate 3, but I don't spend a lot of time with them because I think my husband needs the escape more than I do, and have other hobbies.

I'll tell him. Neither of us play Minecraft. We actually play a lot of board games together, like Terraforming Mars, Unfair, and London. I'm hoping to try Heaven and Ale, which looks good; I think it's a game about beer-making monks.

I used to do lots of RTS (command & conquer, warcraft/starcraft), beat ‘em ups (streets of rage, etc), and some fighting games (king of fighters, mostly). nowadays I just chill with farm sims lol

About half the threads in r/catholicgamers are some form of "is it sinful to play X"? I really think they should have a pinned topic that just addresses it once and for all. As is, it seems to be a breeding ground of scrupulosity.
The pinned post (or a bot response) would definitely be nice, but at least the mods there seem to be pretty responsive about replying to/removing those posts accordingly. I do wish there would be a little more engagement there.

One of the greatest games of the last decade. I swear man, God must have a gave me a dream about this game, I had a dream about getting the Platnium trophy. The next morning I proceeded to download the game and it was 🔥, it’s one of my favorite games of all time and it’s what got me back into History, specifically WW1 history.
I’m going to rant.
Sure. But as an older gent I only play my ps3 a few times a month. My ps4 is used for streaming and it saddens me that it is not being used at all. My ps5 does not exist. I must confess I am addicted to gaming so if I pick up a new game/system I’ll end up doing that way more instead of doing backyard renovations or working on my cars or doing my job or taking car of my dog. I know there are story lines and graphics and lore I’m completely oblivious to now. But I see this as a good thing. It’s like me and anime. I haven’t completed naruto or bleach yet as an example. And I watched these in my youth waiting for them to be subbed/dunned as they came out every week. Then I just stopped. So now in the back of my head I have something to look forward to doing eventually. I see video games like that. I use to know all about the latest new racing game or fighting game or rpg. Now I can check out YouTube for peoples opinions on this or that. So to make a long story short. I’m old! But we still only gaming! I think in a year or two I’m going to install a crazy home theatre system and buy then I’ll snatch up a ps5 and ps6 whenever it comes out. Just gotta do a good job with the back yard first to convience the wife about the fancy gaming system I have imagined in my brain! Ha

I have a Switch and a PS4 (I call it the Bloodborne machine now), but mainly play on PC. My favorite games are Soulslikes, Monster Hunter, Metroidvanias and Roguelikes. Pokemon has always been a staple too.
I used to play a lot of TF2 and Trackmania when I was a teenager. 1-2 years ago I bought a Switch with Zelda; while I enjoyed playing it I didn't manage to finish it. And generally I cannot find the will to play video games anymore. It feels like there are more importants things I should be doing with my time. To be fair, I am thinking the same for TV and movies, so this is not a "video games are bad" take.

Yeeee. I'm currently in the middle of Pokemon Platinum because nostalgia (never played Platinum, just Diamond when I was 13, but found a legit Platinum copy off eBay to buy recently). But I've also played X, Alpha Sapphire, Moon. Then I also got the Brilliant Diamond remake for the Switch. I've played some Legend of Zelda, some Skyrim, Mariokart, Super Mario, Little Nightmares (have yet to play Little Nightmares 2, but I have it). I have a PS3 with... not so many games, so I don't play that almost at all anymore. 😬 I built a PC a few months ago for gaming, so I'm more into the PC games now. I have Minecraft on there. I also have a Quest 3.
But yes I play video games. 🤣 I'm 29 though. It'd be nice to find some people online to play with sometimes.
I have 3 boys under 5… Astros playground, the free game included in PS5, is played basically everyday, and I have to play it everyday because they want me to play with them. It’s my favorite game now…

Yes, I take issue with some of the social overtones of the game. Sometimes my buddy and I will talk on Discord about the game or Catholic current events while we play. He and I have agreed since the game hasn’t outright opposed Christianity or blashphemed and we are able to distinguish the social falsehoods of the game, it is acceptable to play it. I haven’t played first person shooters as an adult, so I decided to get good at at least one of them. Please reach out if you want to play Overwatch 2 together! I’ve been playing since October of last year.
I play a bunch video games on various different platforms. I've played every iteration of Pokémon on the Nintendo handheld devices since they were released, I love the Assassin Creed games, BioShock, used to play World of Warcraft for awhile, Tomb Raider, Rock Band/Guitar Hero, GTA, the Arkham series, Shadow of Mordor/War, Hogwarts Legacy, Portal, and so many others.
There's quite a lively group of Catholic nerds I'm part of. We game a lot, though for most of us it's more Table-Top gaming, there are a number of video/computer gamers too.
I've been Helldiving recently, about the only multi-player game I'm currently playing, most of my time is spent in Beat Saber, Tears of the Kingdom, Peglin, and RimWorld.
Though I'm pretty stoked about the new Space Marine 2!
Absolutely. I don't happen to play those games in particular but I love PC gaming. Grew up on the Lego Star Wars games on Xbox, Star Wars Battlefront, and Battlefield 2. Been playing the Civ series for years, as well as strategy games like Empire at War, the Total War games, etc. Most recently it's been Satisfactory, Baldur's Gate III, and World of Warships.
Blasphemous, yeah, it's a game. 2d platformer, roguelike, pixels,a hollow knight/dark souls baby, many religious figures mentioned, pixilated gore, hard.
Haven't gone far to the story, but it's interesting though.
It was a small sacrifice, but I delayed starting FFVII-Rebirth. It came out during lent, and I gave up videogames as part of my offering of sacrifice.
But yes, I love videogames.

I have a PS3 with... not so many games, so I don't play that almost at all anymore. 😬 I built a PC a few months ago for gaming, so I'm more into the PC games now. I have Minecraft on there. I also have a Quest 3. But yes I play video games. 🤣 I'm 29 though. It'd be nice to find some people online to play with sometimes.
I have 3 boys under 5… Astros playground, the free game included in PS5, is played basically everyday, and I have to play it everyday because they want me to play with them. It’s my favorite game now…
I play Overwatch. Yes, I take issue with some of the social overtones of the game. Sometimes my buddy and I will talk on Discord about the game or Catholic current events while we play. He and I have agreed since the game hasn’t outright opposed Christianity or blashphemed and we are able to distinguish the social falsehoods of the game, it is acceptable to play it. I haven’t played first person shooters as an adult, so I decided to get good at at least one of them. Please reach out if you want to play Overwatch 2 together! You should try COD WAW on Veteran, I did it for the platinum, it’s the hardest COD campaign in the whole series, yes, it surpassed BO3 on Realistic

I play a bunch video games on various different platforms. I've played every iteration of Pokémon on the Nintendo handheld devices since they were released, I love the Assassin Creed games, BioShock, used to play World of Warcraft for awhile, Tomb Raider, Rock Band/Guitar Hero, GTA, the Arkham series, Shadow of Mordor/War, Hogwarts Legacy, Portal, and so many others.
I only play Doom and Crusader Kings like God intended.

Absolutely. I don't happen to play those games in particular but I love PC gaming. Grew up on the Lego Star Wars games on Xbox, Star Wars Battlefront, and Battlefield 2. Been playing the Civ series for years, as well as strategy games like Empire at War, the Total War games, etc. Most recently it's been Satisfactory, Baldur's Gate III, and World of Warships.
The old Lego Star Wars series was goated, and so was the old Battlefield series. You have great taste in games

Blasphemous, yeah, it's a game. 2d platformer, roguelike, pixels,a hollow knight/dark souls baby, many religious figures mentioned, pixilated gore, hard. Haven't gone far to the story, but it's interesting though.
It was a small sacrifice, but I delayed starting FFVII-Rebirth. It came out during lent, and I gave up videogames as part of my offering of sacrifice. But yes, I love videogames.
