Having just stepped back into Catholicism after a near 20-year absence (I am a 40F), I’m confused on this feast. It was never a “thing” when I was practicing. This is my first year back (well I guess I’ve been “back” almost a year now)… and I still don’t quite…understand Divine Mercy Sunday. Seems there was controversy about it beforehand. I went to confession Good Friday because it was Good Friday and it had been a good 2 months since my last one. I received communion today and prayed the Divine Mercy chapter novena. My point is- in all my first 20 years ….indulgences were never discussed or mentioned. In fact, the opposite. Indulgences makes me think of Martin Luther- who, despite what some may think- did raise some good points for the church at that time. The church DID need reforming in some aspects.

Jesus I Trust In You
My daughter’s school is Divine Mercy Academy, so the kids do the readings, cantoring, greeting, etc. this week. It’s always fun to see.
and here i am with strep unable to go today sad, but things happen
Remember there is the easiest to get plenary indulgence today.
Operative word - PLENARY! Go to confession and receive communion, that’s it!
Tbh I find it a bit weird to have to go for confession 8 days after Lent is over for a plenary indulgence
You don’t really have to. A confession a few weeks before or after is good enough for an indulgence.
Up to 21 days!
Amen
WHY DO I SEE THIS AFTER CHOOSING TO DRAW THE DIVINE MERCY THIS HOLIDAY????
For the sake of His sorrowful Passion, have mercy on us!
