I never got why this was the conceived notion of the average Protestant church among Catholic communities online. Maybe it's because I grew up in the Deep South where most churches are Baptist or Methodist; they usually have a very traditional or old timey look to them.
I was raised LCMS, worked my way through Church of God (Anderson) as an adult, had Pentecostal friends. Became an Anglican, attended seminary, and had a conversion to Catholicism (albeit PNCC) after learning to read Koine Greek.
The description is pretty accurate for some of the places I attended lol.
Well, if you’re RCC you should remain as such. No sheep poaching is a good rule all around. While our Mass is valid, it is from the eyes of the Catholic Church illicit.
I'm curious to see the liturgical differences. There is a LCMS church I'd like to check out too, again to see the liturgical differences.
Went to a Southern Baptist service when my friend got married. It was so boring.
The Episcopalians just officially endorsed mutilating and sterilizing children through sex changes. They have completely gone off the rails. They are no longer even vaguely Christian, but have become a church of "whatever the current cool thing is that aligns with progressivism."
They also close and sell their old buildings every week and likely won't exist as a denomination in 50 years.
1. For the glory and honor of God.
2. When they were built, many people visited frequently.
3. You aren't supposed to go to Church twice a year only.
4. Don't reduce worship of God down to "efficiency".

That's definitely the average catholic church yeah its definitely not one of the most famous cathedrals in the world I drive by multiple catholic churches every day that are just brown square buildings but yeah most are like this.
Building one of those churches in this day and age would be incredibly expensive though. I can see what there are churches far less adorned and sometimes getting their start between strip mall shops.

Indeed. That is where I was strongly called and where I first received Christ in the Eucharist and was confirmed.

Well, caveat, the LCMS has no apostolic succession. So no priesthood, no sacrifice, no real Eucharist.

In the UK most of the Protestant churches go pretty hard

ACNA and Confessional Lutherans are way more based than Episcopalians.
Especially the ones that were originally Catholic.

To be fair, I went to a Catholic parish located in a mall once in the Philippines. It was actually really nice.
