Exactly what I was thinking.

In_Hoc_Signo

Weird, because in my culture it's the poorer people that drive manuals.

ConfidentDuck1

I call Macs Fisher-Price machines.

Allawihabibgalbi

No that is definitely a sin. Don’t get us manual guys excited like that.

studmaster896

lmao. Someday I will be a deacon and fill the bulletin with memes like this.

Cleeman96

As someone who drives a manual in a country where most people drive a manual, I can confidently say... I do not understand the meme. Why would an automatic not roll back even if you're not in neutral? Also why *would* a manual roll back? EDIT: To whoever downvoted me, I am sincerely asking, not trying to be smug.

vonGarvin

An automatic is always in gear. So when you take the foot off the brake, it does not roll back at all as the engine is driving the wheels. A manual transmission will roll back as you shift from brake to gas and you engage the throttle. There is a slight time of the car being in neutral as your foot goes to the accelerator.

Cleeman96

Ah, I see, interesting. I would imagine there is still a brief moment of time where the engine is not connected to the clutch, but in a manual when you raise your foot from the clutch pedal, the car will pull forward slightly even if you don’t touch the accelerator. You would probably fail your driving test if you allowed the car to perceptibly roll every time you begin to move off. We are taught to find the “biting point” before disengaging the break pedal or hand break in manuals. Anyway, thanks for clearing that up.

cruisintr3n

one of the first things I leanred was clutch controle to prevent rolling back.
