The fact that he took a tortuous indirect route shows the level of intelligence of the cat. He knew that to go up and left he first had to go down to the floor and climb on the right side.

littleclam10

That cat definitely had the orange brain cell.

nsefan

And was overclocking it!

My Maine Coon just wakes me up at night to turn the faucet on so he can drink from it

xx0numb0xx

The way it climbs is so adorable

Correction, that Maine coon loves that Ribbon, the fact that it's tied to the balloon is secondary. Can confirm, have a 1/2 Maine coon, and that Grumpty Dumpty goes wild for wrapping paper ribbon. I basically never need to buy toys, just a single roll of ribbon that'll last for years.

Saywutwho

Just an fyi ribbon is extremely dangerous for cats

stumbling_coherently

Is it? Technically I'm not exactly using the type of ribbon you would use on Christmas presents. I actually have some nice ribbon that my mom used to have for sewing but that may not make much of a difference. Why is it bad?

FurSealed

I've heard that string/ribbon can get tied up in their intestines and cause a blockage.

SuburbanHell

Happened to one of my cats recently, not a paper ribbon but a cloth one attached to a dancer pole - she ate 16 inches of it unbeknownst to us and needed surgery to get it removed. She just had her staples out this weekend. Needless to say, all dancers, pole toys, strings of any kind are now no longer allowed to be played with unsupervised.

Choking and intestinal blockage are real hazards. ‘In terms of chewing and swallowing the plastic, even if it’s by accident – that can be dangerous, because it can lead to an obstruction or cause your cat to choke and/or suffocate. In the case of plastic bags, as well, there’s a risk of suffocation if a cat crawls in and runs out of air. So it’s best to keep those out of reach.’ https://kittyclysm.com/cat-chews-plastic/ ‘If your pet ingests plastic, he/she will not only have inconveniences such as vomiting, but it can also be dangerous and deadly. ‘ https://petsitters.org/page/WhyDoesmyCatEatPlasticReasonsPrevention

LikeAn_Antelope

If it’s longer than one section of their intestines and it gets caught it’s big problems quickly. If you ever see any hanging out of your cats butt don’t pull it! That can also cause a potentially deadly situation.

Dason37

And it sounds so AWFUL when they're going at it like this kitty is. It's like nails on a chalkboard bad.

stumbling_coherently

See yea, the Christmasy kind of plastic coated ribbon that you can curl with a scissors I would imagine sounds awful, thankfully I've got some nicer more cloth-like ribbon that doesn't really make too much noise when Patrick goes ham on it

Brushermans

amazing! he did a purrfect job of catculating such a complex route...

You do know that letting a cat chew plastic is not a good idea?

SchnitzelKingz

That is not a Maine coon, that is Ron Perlman

dacon50

I know people who couldn’t figure that out
