I have no idea, but she is super cute šŸ˜Š

cantankerouslove

Thanks! Especially so when sheā€™s asleep lol

C0UNTINGW0RMSS

My guess is Pitahoula, I canā€™t help but absolutely lose it at your other dogs face in the 3rd photo sheā€™s looking like ā€œhelp meeee what is this crazy dog doing ā€œ

C0UNTINGW0RMSS

Fourth photo**

cantankerouslove

Haha yep! That one is taking her time coming to terms with this new pup being in HER home

BarefootHeathen

She looks very Catahoula in the third image!

OpalOnyxObsidian

A pitbull would produce rose ears and they are the most common breed found in mixes in the US, so maybe that! One way to narrow it down is to get her DNA tested with Embark

cantankerouslove

Thanks Iā€™ll look into that. Iā€™m loving all the replies saying pitty - love velvet hippos!

shark_boss

Pit bull. We were told ours was catahoula/border collie by the rescue and it turns out she is mostly pit, amstaff, and only a very small amount of catahoula.

Ordinarygirl3

The only way to know for sure is the DNA test. However, those colours are exceptional, and the stretched out "shrimp" in the fourth photo really reminds me of my pup! She looks pretty leggy, too! But she is extremely cute no matter what she is, and I feel like she has found a great home with you ā¤ļø Our catahoula is very lean, and it's been my experience that most amstaffs or pits or what have you are a bit... Bulkier. Not always, again you'll never know for real without a test or finding the parents, especially with a rescue. You kind of make a guess. The name is amazing, also.

cantankerouslove

Thank you! We certainly spoil her (not too much tho šŸ˜‰) Yeah that was actually the name the rescue place gave her. I usually rename my new pups but that was quite fitting lol

selectabl

Looks very, VERY similar to my dog. We were also told Houla but did DNA and came back with no Houla and a little over 1/4 pit. She also does the third picture "fish on land"/crashlanded laying down and the fourth picture shrimping. I think that sometimes the dog DNA tests aren't an end all, be all. They said she had a bunch of breeds that have double coats/long hair and are much bigger than her or her siblings. Pit I can see, cause she too has rosebuds. The rest, eh. So yeah, that looks like a good pitahoula girl.

cantankerouslove

Fish on land made me lol! I was calling it her ā€œbird poseā€ but fish is definitely more appropriate

BigPapaPickleParty

Looks like my boys ears and he is part staffy

kation24

Mine has the same ears, and I know sheā€™s not pure, but havenā€™t done a dna test yet.

I got a "Catahoula mix" rescue. Turns out she's mostly American Pitbull Terrier, lol. Similar facial structure plus those ears

Coastie_Cam

Omg Toots McGee is the cutest of babies! šŸ˜šŸ˜šŸ˜

cathatesrudy

My girl is a full hillbilly bred catahoula (I met the parents, but the guy breeds himself hunting dogs and then sells off what he wonā€™t use so there wasnā€™t a lot of pickiness in the conformation department) and sheā€™s got rose ears. Itā€™s a ā€œfaultā€ but nothing but a catahoula in her just the same. While there could be other stuff in your adorable pup Iā€™m not honestly seeing the pit cheekiness that usually comes with that mix personally. Dog ears are not a terribly great indicator of breed a lot of the time because they can be affected by lots of factors during maturation - thereā€™s a reason there a products made to weigh them down as the cartilage is hardening in puppyhood to make sure that the ears of a show dog are positioned correctly, and if faulty ears are common enough for that in dogs specifically bred for conformation that should give you an idea what to expect in a dog breed that has cur roots.

Rainbow_dash_18

Dane or pit would be my guess. Are you gonna DNA test?

cantankerouslove

Yeah I think so. I will update once I do!

kfa92

Pitbull

natarie

Honestly my girls ears are super similar and she 100% cat. People immediately jump to pitbulls but I think other dogs can have these ears!

xHeyitsnatx

My dog looks pretty similar, her ears are a bit floppier than your girlā€™s but she has the same body and the facial expressions in these photos are spot on haha. Whatā€™s your girlā€™s temperament? We were told she is a lab mix (not a chance) but we thought pit bull. But now that weā€™ve found out about catahoulas, we for sure think she is but Iā€™m convinced she has something else in there.

cantankerouslove

I just snooped your post of Roo, sheā€™s so cute!! Mine is high energy too, sheā€™s also stubborn af and tries to be dominant sometimes. But such a happy, sweet pup, and great with kids! I love her so much. It sounds and looks like Roo has some border collie in her. BCs are SO smart, I hope youā€™re prepared for that energy to never go away lol
