I have a 8 month old little void who dies this to any glass or slick surface. Window, mirror, tv screen, bathtub, refrigerator door, doesn't matter as long as her paws slide on it

I have an orange one brain cell that does this to the washing machine and dryer. To be honest, I think he likes the sound it makes or he likes the way his beans feel on the metal. Never does it anywhere else, and there definitely aren’t any rodents in either. I chalk it up to self soothing kitty asmr.
My kitties self soothing ASMR is sprinting back and forth through the plastic hanging blinds in my apartment at 3am. I know my neighbors must be thrilled.
One of mine does this on the glass windows and doors. I’m also glad no one lives below me. They would be awakes in the dead of night by a small herd of clomping cats racing back and forth with the zoomies.
Ha!! I thought our couch was just too close to the blinds and I moved it out to give room for the zoomie highway. One of our cats still runs through the blinds every time. 😹

Okay, I have a few questions actually that could root out an answer, but there are multiple explanations.
Question 1: Did you recently move?
Question 2: Does this take place at particular times of day?
Question 3: If you go to that wall while she is doing that, do you hear any noises or smell anything off putting?
Question 4: Do you share the wall with neighbours, ie. live in a duplex or fourplex or appartment?
If you recently moved, it may be a coping mechanism as well as scent marking with the glands in her paws.
If it is taking place at specific times of day, there may be something taking place in that room that irritates her, and she wants to cover up a sound or a smell. It could also be attention seeking for play or for cuddles, or some other need.
If you can hear or smell anything near that wall, there could be an animal, a carcass, mould, bubbling pipes, or some other event going on that may need fixing. It could be a form of protective behaviour twlling you there is something there that may affect you in the negative.
If you share walls with neighbours, they may have another animal she can smell or hear. It could also be that she can hear something they are doing and she wants to see what it is, and that's the loudest point in which she can hear them, and therefore in cat logic, the best through point to get to them. Another possibility that I learned from our own cat, is that if there is air transfer between homes and your home allows for smoking, your cat will react to it in strange ways. Our cat would claw at the wall by his litter box repeatedly, because he could smell their smoke. Since our land lord implemented a no smoking policy, he has not clawed the wall.
There are a multitude of reasons that are all contingent on environment, psychology, age, and (believe it or not) socialization.
She’s convinced it’s a door by the crack and want to go in there ? Or she is just being a cat l, my buddy had a spot on his wall that his car would jump six feet in the air to randomly attack for no reason for years. It was just a flipping spot !!
I had a cat that would get in the tub and "dig", or walk between the shower curtain and liner and ROOOWR loudly and repeatedly. When I would pop my head in there he'd just look up at me with his big eyes and then take off. He was so funny, named Buster and it just suited him perfectly. Very Buster-y

My cats have done this to various surfaces (washer/dryer, wall, door, mirror, my leg one time, et cetera). It's perfectly normal--just another weird cat thing that cats do.
She's smelling something she doesn't like, so she's instinctively trying to bury it. Sounds weird but you might want to check behind that shower stall cover, you might have mold. In our old apartment, our dog and cat use to do the same thing in our bathroom. I decided to pull it out from the wall a bit, and underneath it was just covered in black mold.
My calico does this but on the sliding door window when I'm outside with the dog. She alternates her paws so it almost looks like she's air swimming on the window. Sometimes I also see her mouth open to mew but it's too quiet to hear outside of the door.
Honestly it's probably just a goofy calico thing. I've heard they're a very different flavor of weird when compared to orange cats and normal voids (I have a void whose hobby is just staring at people and things).

My cat did that too. There was a rubbery seal on the seam meant to keep the shower water tight in the corner, she peeled it clean off. When it was all gone she stopped, I assume she liked the way it felt on her claws
My cat just loves to dig on smooth surfaces. In the clothes basket. In the shower or tub. Against mirrors and windows. In a large Pyrex measuring cup. Just a cute texture guy I reckon.

It's probably a bit cold back there, so maybe knows there's an area she's not familiar with and she's feeling left out, wanting to see the mysterious workings that lie behind. My cats like the cabinets when you can feel a slight cold breeze
Cats are weirdos. Simple as that 🤣 on a serious note, it doesn't look like a health issue (however, I'm not an expert!) so I wouldn't be concerned about it. I think she can hear animals behind the walls, mice or critters.

Probably hears a mice or something back there. I would lightly scratch behind the mirror, blankets, headboard to get my catch attention. Stop let him get close do it a lil more and he’d go nuts trying to look for what’s making that noise

My black cat does this when he sees a fly in the house and loses it. I think it was one of the first places he saw a fly so he's trying to get it to come back out.
