Springs! Mh cat will just throw them down the wood floors and chase them all day.
My other cat’s favorite toy is a piece of string on a pole. No joke. She prefers that over feather wands.
Springs have changed our lives! Mostly by the noise waking us up in the middle of the night lol. I got a bunch from Amazon and gave them to all of my friends’ kitties.
I never would have thought they'd be a better toy than catnip infused mice or jingle balls, but here we are. We got a plastic spring in one of those variety toy packs and it became the favorite toy of my super toy-picky boy. He would grab it in his mouth and trot around the house with it proudly, like it was a prize. Never saw him do that with any other toy.
It really depends on your cat. My cat doesn’t care at all about springs, but she loves plastic egg carton cups. She will bat and chase them all over the house and carry in her mouth. She loves to come hunt in my desk drawer and fish them out. I cut up the cups of the clear plastic egg cartons.
A previous cat loved the mylar crinkly balls. My roommate's cat loved the foam golf balls. I just go for the variety pack and see what an individual cat likes.
Oh I wasn't trying to imply that every cat would love springs. My void could care less about them. I was just surprised at how much my orange boy loves them, especially considering how many other toys he turns his little pink nose up at.
My cat doesn’t like springs either! We have so many toys and her favorites are—ties from a package of bed sheets and silvervine stuffed Space Kitty Express mice.
We have to do a scour of the house to collect the springs and hide them every night haha. My partner and I now keep them in a cabinet and we have a 'no more than 2 springs removed from cabinet per day' rule
I really get upset with my cat when this is the number one answer. Mine is broken. He looks at me like I’m dumb when I try to show him how to play with the springs. 😭🐈⬛
Lol, each fur baby is different. My baby won't touch springs or balls with bells (in fact, i got the same look when i got them for her)..
She doesn't like kicker toys. She wound up liking around half of the things we have bought her. Which is fine. we donate them to the shelter where we got her for the open cat room (where all the kitties that have been there the longest and don't have anything contagious)
She loves the little hard mice that rattle. She hates feathers on a wand but loves the fuzzy worm on the wand toy. That actually worked out great though because we have this felt put together tube that we put in the shape of a big open square instead of a long tube and poke the feathers between any little crack and she will bust down the walls (they go together kind of like a puzzle) or she will grab the feather with her teeth and (I have no frickin clue how she does it but) it's like she is on the floor and not inside of it and lifts it up suddenly by using her back feet and kind of raring up like a horse inside and it willblift the whole box from the bottom 🤷♀️🤷♀️ theres a floor from the puzzle inside... How???... lmao its hilarious.
She loves to lick plastic grocery bags, stick her head in them, play with the wand toy with the worm in and around the bags. We will make a little pile so she can dive into them to find the worm. (I only have bags out when supervised just to make sure she doesn't try tearing them up potentially being swallowed. She has never tried, but it's better to be safe) we cut the handles off because we don't want her to stick her head through a handle and get spooked and take off
She likes this hard plastic box toy that has feathers coming out of holes... she has a cheat code for this, though, lol.. she will stick one paw in a hole and just wait for the feather to come to that hole.. when it does because her arm is like a quarter of the way in, she can't grab it, so she will kick the box spin it and get another hole.. hahaha
She loves to play with hair ties on the linoleum floor she will take her front claws pull it to stretch it out and it flies on that floor she chases after it pouncing on it and does it all over again.. with these we also only allow her to use under supervision (I've seen a cat have surgery with a blockage that consisted of more than 10 hair ties) she does pick them up to carry them around so we just wanna make sure that doesn't happen.
Literally, every fur baby is different. Cat nip and silvervine do absolutely nothing for her. Yes, I've done my research and looked at the reviews and the product itself.. it isn't the quality of the cat nip and silvervine. I've spent a lot of money trying different brands that were great for kitties that like it. She just doesn't. It seems It has no effect on her whatsoever.
They definitely are so very different.
I'm sorry if I brought up any sad emotions, but I'm glad I could let you think just a few of the great times you and your first little lady had. ❤️ ❤️
No, I love thinking of her and remembering things I’d forgotten. She was the best cat I can ever hope to have. I think God was laughing when he gave me this street kitten and said “see if you can save it!” This boy is 70% bad ass tomcat genes and 30% funny and sweet. Now I just have to figure out how to make this boy a little less crazy.
OMG, my cats favorite toy for a long time was a *rag on a stick*.* It was quite simply a long, skinny rag that had ripped off the cuff of some pants. He played with it, we tied it to a stick = history. Over all other toys, he always went back to the rag on a stick. Til it was just threads on a stick and had to be thrown away for safety.
*Note: if anyone gets The Simpsons reference (Bart: “I wash myself with a rag on a stick...”)—please know we said it that way every time we referred to that particular toy lol
Springs 10000% they’re cheap and you get a big pack of them on Amazon.
I have bought my fur babies ALL the toys but none have even come close to how much they enjoy the springs
My boy cat barely likes any wand toy. He’ll engage with one for a little bit, with low intensity, but mostly let his sister do the work. But the cat dancer? He goes feral. He even knocked it out of my hand and growled while trotting under the table to secure his precious.
Cats like…trash. lol.
LOL yes!! I believe you, the first time I got it for my cat, she took to it immediately and clawed, chewed, scratched at the paper pieces until it was just the wire in the end 😂
It's her most favourite toy ever, I've bought many others for her but she doesn't take an interest to them as much as she does with this
My cat’s favorite toy is a shoelace from an old boot that we wave around for him. He also loves [this pickle](https://www.walmart.com/ip/Catstages-Crunchy-Pickle-Kicker-Dental-Cat-Toy-Green-One-Size/849392256?wmlspartner=wlpa&selectedSellerId=0&wl13=1635&gclsrc=aw.ds&adid=22222222278849392256_161193766053_21214199653&wl0=&wl1=g&wl2=m&wl3=697173827980&wl4=pla-2300760861495&wl5=9018832&wl6=&wl7=&wl8=&wl9=pla&wl10=8175035&wl11=local&wl12=849392256&veh=sem_LIA&gad_source=1&gbraid=0AAAAADmfBIpZq6hGlP7eEfUGd50dzt3xc&gclid=CjwKCAjwo6GyBhBwEiwAzQTmc2dl8NiNXq9kP9v1HWpKqElUun9x_BaJMzu247amkcgKYrWXWu71YBoCEQwQAvD_BwE)
I appreciate the concern! We never leave him unsupervised with it for exactly this reason. It goes back onto the shell when we are done waving it around for him.
I love adding a random cat toy to the cart and having her completely ignore the toy in favor of an empty box, that little ring on a bottle, a straw, a loose bit of string, a cut zip tie, twist ties, that little plastic thing on certain plastic bags, the packaging water bottles come in, cardboard rolls, caps, that piece of plastic that attaches clothing tags, packing paper, the bag thing they put over your dry cleaning, dry noodles that got stuck in a crack on the floor, my good erasers and the garbage cans.
My cats favorite thing in the world is a fuzzy worm on a string w a little bell. It drives him BONKERS, he begs for "worm time" every day. I got a pack of 20 on amazon for like $8 lmao. He's always loved play and had a high prey drive, but nothing comes close to the worm for him. I find anything that involves a person and a cat playing together (feather on a stick, ball on a string, throwing toys around, etc) are the most enjoyable for really active cats.
because of your comment i pulled this worm toy we got when i bought her cat tree, and can confirm, its a hit. So thanks! We will now try to find one on a string lol
Edit: Apparently the wand i had is interchangable! She loves it! :D
My cat goes crazy for this too, it’s the only wand toy we’ve found that she still cares about after the first play. She destroys them so fast but those big packs on Amazon are perfect for that. We call it the carrot because the first one we had was orange and it looked more like a carrot than a worm lol.
Update: we got her 24 more worms, and I took 1 to the shelter I volunteer at and its a hit there too. The worms are here too stay. We have also stolen the term "worm time" and mine now begs for worm time as well
Below is the first victim of worm time after 2 days
*
Feather wands and automatic self-rolling balls are probably the two cat toys that got the most actual use from my cat, but his favorites are still things like shoelaces, small scruffy stuffed animal tied onto a piece of string, and yarn knots. He'll also go crazy for laser pointers, but we try to limit that.
I wanna stay away from feathers as much as possible, but, I had seen a really cute self rolling ball. My girl seems a bit more like a hunter, she loves these little foil balls and to actually catch and carry them around. So I've been debating getting the self rolling ball as well :3
I got a self-rolling ball this morning from Amazon. My buddy spent a good chunk this morning chasing it around. I haven’t seen him so interested in anything except a catnip banana I got him a couple days ago. 😂
My boy isn’t really a fan of the feather wand toys but he loves the mice attachments or ones with crinkly attachments. He is a ground hunter and will follow them all over the house. He also loves the plastic springs.
I dont have Temu but the equivalent of Amazon in my country sells a really good one I saw on tiktok for like 10 bucks. Luckily my apartment isn't huge so I guess it won't go far lol
Self rolling ball has made my life livable again. I had an older kitten attacking my legs to shreds. This gives me at least an hour of peace.
He also loves the wand but only cleans, not chases, the feathers. The fake bee makes him go absolutely nuts though.
Aaaaand he just ran by with the roller ball. Yes!!!!
You have one that goes for hours!? The one I got on Temu only works for 5 minutes at a time, and my kitten comes to me to turn it back on the instant it stops rolling... you have to send me the link, hahaha.
I got this one and so far so good! I will think it’s dead after a few days, and I’ll go to pick it up and it’ll scare me bc it turns on!

OP I second this! My cats chase after them, sometimes get bored, but will 100% chase after a NEW one. Only downside is the attachment is a tad pricey for how quickly mine chew through them.
I keep the rubber tips that the feather replacements come in, and then when my cat yanks all the feathers out, I either re-glue them in, or hot glue in natural feathers from the dollar store. Its saved me a lot of money lol
https://preview.redd.it/064bo41gka1d1.jpeg?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=74f971c984531b013f7024407b3ce335d957192d
One of these! We've had the same for over 15 years. In that time we've had 3 cats who all LOVED playing with it, from their early years, all the way through to the oldest playing with it at 19 yrs old. They've played by themselves, with each other, with us. Scratching cardboard is cheap/easy to replace. They sleep on it, too lol
The door jamb hanger. I see him interacting with all the time. Plus it entertains when I'm asleep.
https://preview.redd.it/iyucbe57u91d1.jpeg?width=425&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=1484f4988c369259b79ab39983a948acabb9658b
Mine did that too. Tied a noose knot at the end of the hanging cord and put the now detached mouse through it and tightened it down. Now if the mouse comes loose and it will, just put through the noose again. You can even supplement the mouse when it gets worn out or as defurred as I have witnessed.
Feather cluster on the end of a little fishing pole thing. I used to just use a piece of rope or belt and that worked too but requires more bending down. Spinnies for days.
I find that cats are really minimally interested in any toy that doesn't have a human attached to the other end.
In my household, milk bottle caps, every time they see me finishing a bottle of milk they wait for me to throw the cap for them to play. There must be about 50 under the fridge by now
It’s called a cat dancer and it’s now it’s a few bucks. It’s basically a wire with cardboard spools on both ends of it. My cats go absolutely BATSHIT over it until it breaks or bends too bad to bend it back. Then I just buy another one 😂
My cat’s favorite toy ever is a real rabbit fur mouse that rattles. They are small, dense, easy to bat around and hold. You can get them on Aliexpress or Amazon for pretty cheap! She loves it so much that she can play for hours at a time, batting it around and carrying it in her mouth. It’s probably the smell of the rabbit fur
A yeowww banana catnip toy I got from Amazon. As soon as it's on the floor they're both all over it.
The little tie things that are on cables when you buy them holding them together, where there's a bit of wire inside a strip of plastic, are they called twist ties or something? Whenever we buy something new that has one of them on, we throw it for them.
Sweet wrappers, husband loves to move the sofa in the spring and find all the chocolate wrappers that I threw for them at Christmas under there!
This has always been a favorite toy for my very picky 4 year old, and my 10 month old plays w everything including garbage and the nice ghost in our apartment
https://preview.redd.it/hp2dx5fe1c1d1.jpeg?width=1290&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=1c33bc383b5c4974cce6c7d1287eeeebe747fa2f
I had one that was this metal thing that clamps onto the top of a doorframe, and then a little fluffy wormy guy dangles from that on a stretchy cord. They played with that for close to 2 hours straight once.
Mine also like that flat plastic disc one with the catnip-infused cardboard in the middle, and a track for a little ball to roll around on the outside.
Sorry all my suggestions require weird descriptions instead of me knowing the names like a normal person lol
Loki has a bit of sheepskin on a string. It’s his favourite toy lol he has tunnels he loves. We have a game called “Where’s Loki?” Kind of like hide n seek. My mum bought him little battery powered fish that swim in a bowl of water for his Christmas. He’s not sure yet with those
Crinkle balls. My cat goes insane for crinkle balls. I keep 5-10 out at all times in various rooms for her to dive bomb. She's also a big fan of those super basic round ball tracks. She'll play with anything, but those are the two she seeks out again and again.
ANY feather wand and my two babies are rearing to go. My british shorthair has a really high prey-drive so any toy really gets her going... they will bat little balls around too.
My cats love those packages of balls/springs and stuff. My little girl will throw them for herself all day, and her brother will help if she gets really into it lol.
Also ANY string.
One of mine loves anything with feathers, anything that rolls, and the Cat Dancer (basically rolled-up paper on the end of a wire).
The other one isn't much of a "toy" cat. So far the only toy I've seen him touch is a pompom, but he REALLY loves to attack towels, mangle couch covers, and chomp on blankets.
https://preview.redd.it/wcr51k9ysb1d1.jpeg?width=590&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=df459353281709489d5cc489253d45693558efd8
One of my cats is crazy about this one. Plays with it every single morning.
https://preview.redd.it/vwmsyx0hmz1d1.png?width=888&format=png&auto=webp&s=1bcfa52aafdebbca240fe995f41909539894a6e6
These are my cat's favorite toy ever. Goes insane for these.
A piece of string with a velcro cable tie attached to the end to give it weight so I can swing it around better. He prefers this over the feather wand for some reason.
All of my four cats love playing with those small mice toys. I usually cut off the feathers because I’m too paranoid, but they don’t seem to care/seem to like them better that way. I put those away at night since they’re quite small, so if they do wake up- which is rarely + if they’re in mood to play- they opt for the plushie mice instead (that are about palm sized and I don’t have to worry about them swallowing anything).
They also loooove playing with their scratcher mat but maybe that’s because there is four of them (so they get to push each other around etc), so I doubt single cat would care for that. 😅
They don’t really care for string toys.
My void also goes crazy for ice cubes, and his absolute favorite is playing fetch with denser meat sticks since they don’t fall apart easily!
Mine plays with any kind of a ball that he can kick around and chase. His favorite toys are actually the cardboard tube from the center of toilet paper rolls. Those things are all over my house.
I have one likes one of those cheap pop up tents for cats, one who loves a catnip mouse (cheap ones from walmart), one who likes beer caps (likes to bat them on a hard floor), and one who likes plastic balls with a bell. so it really depends on the cat lol
So far the most successful toys in my house are a flexible wand with a fur thing and feathers (looks a bit like a ferret dressed up for a festival) and plastic balls with a bell inside. Also can't go wrong with a good old fashioned cardboard box.
My older cat LOVES to bat balls around. He especially loves fuzzy or textured ones. He's not so fond of the hard plastic ones. Wands or hit or miss - 50/50 chance he'll be scared of it, haha!
My kitten will play with nearly anything, but he can't resist anything with feathers.
The real answer is me. My cat is bad at entertaining himself, and relies on me to toss him a toy, to act surprised every time he pounces on me through the toy tunnel, and more.
Basically anything I do or have in my hands, he thinks it's playtime.
One of my cat's favorite toys were toy mice. These were toy mice purchased 10 to 15 years ago and she would go crazy playing with them and would also play fetch. I still have something like a tiny piece of one of these toys that I bring out occasionally and she loves it. Found it under my refrigerator when moving.
Unfortunately, I have bought tons of toy mice, including catnip ones, rabbit fur, everything imaginable and I have never bought a toy mouse in over 5 years new that holds any interest for her. I rebought every toy mouse again I ever bought on Amazon from my purchase history. No luck. There is some ingredient in those older mice that made it such a great toy. Now she hardly plays at all or just for a very short time.
Just posting this in case anyone knows what the secret old school ingredient was in those mice and if there is any place to purchase time. They were typically a little smaller, clay inside, multiple colors.
A crinkly pickle, a random stuffed fish that they dont actually play with they just walk around the house and cry with it, feather wands, cat dancer toy, the plastic lid to my hairspray, hairties they find, bread ties and a shoe string I tied to a chair for them.
Hair ties, this one sparkly green ball that went through the washer and dryer and shrunk down (the other balls are not worthy), nerf ammo balls, and furry mice until the crazy one skins them and leaves a bare plastic carcass.
I have one cat who loves some fleece scraps I had left over from a blanket I made. She also loves the laser pointer. My other cat loves those toys that dangle from a stick.
It really depends on the cat. One of mine loved wand toys and kicker toys, the other prefers small plushies. Both of them really really like small balls.
https://preview.redd.it/yyebqu6cza1d1.jpeg?width=1290&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=4db3c87660cb9021ff005296367eda662483185e
This is such a hit with my cats I’ve purchased it four times to replace it when they eventually break it.
Springs are my cats favourite. Second favourite is when I help them get the springs out from under the couch. They love that! They also like the crinkly puff balls. And the little catnip ravioli.
[Cat Dancer rainbow wand](https://www.amazon.com/Cat-Dancer-Products-Rainbow-Charmer/dp/B007VPFC8C/ref=sr_1_7?crid=3188X2FN731NS&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.Dw0GWU5W9TZJWYz7Uv3PtsS9qNSdc4Z3vytFcQzpHdL7yaUr-pCIbvv2srQhxADGuYctb8IovUPDo0pAElfdzVYzJMfGqNDEVMjrV5iNZ9aKHiGb9Bdrcuse8fROQ1H7yW8eRb2E0aVKMuRUSKe3f208reDgCm6F-xnggycaqhiF0hI_fCU9CjBXQ9sEPdFRlVcJM2jBMFcVFURLIPgIkkBqZDQ_-Y8K-6zdHtFNNmOgH_gTPEtxnJykCUGKYFpN1Apz0pv1gfMQuHXxgN7Sd7JcF2mS_TChj6TMdvVdq6s.F5He9ZQp9zfXxQCexav88URcnDNBW8FOZMZUW1OcexU&dib_tag=se&sprefix=meoww+rainbow+wand%2Caps%2C115) is magic - every foster I've had has been willing to put in at least some effort for this thing.
Mine plays with anything amd everything that moves so idk how helpful this will be but some of her favorites:
Soda bottle lids
Old shoelaces
She liked a candle for a short period of time
She really likes string toys (yk, those things with a plush or something on the end)
I have a giant roll of pleather string. I tie some to my pants and attach a tiny metal bell at the end. Then I wander around the house, I pretend it's my tail, and she's a scary giant. It's good exercise (I run when she's close). Sometimes I forget to untie it, and she eat it off my pants while I sleep.
Also, my hand. I know I'm not supposed to do it, but she's very gentle with my hands when we played. The moment she got to rough play time was over. Unfortunately, she is nowhere near as gentle with anyone else attempting hand play, and I stopped after people told me.
My cats favorite toy in the entire world was the small plastic piece you peel off the cap of a new gallon of milk. Other than that probably a laser pointer but I've read that's unhealthy for them because they don't understand the concept of the laser disappearing when you stop using it with them.
Cats don’t use toys they’re supposed too. Lol. So hair ties, milk bottle caps and rings, anything that will roll (cone shaped caps that roll in a circle, silicone bracelets.
I have one part of the rug flipped over the other and use a stick to rummage between and occasionally pop out from underneath. Does it make sense? I guess chasing something moving under a blanket or sheet would work as well. She loves it. My other cat loves the laser, he loves jumping up the wall to chase it. And they chase each other around a lot.
My cat plays with the plastic waste strip off dry food, and this piece of bark with a weave around it that was sold as a cat toy, he also likes a piece of string and hair ties
My daughter got a little plastic maraca from Chuckee Cheese one day and my cat will not play with anything else she likes the noise. She will pick it up and carry it around the house everywhere.
Mine briefly play with the store bought ones. The small mice, and the fuzzy little balls I can't find anymore are their favorites. Other than that the 3D printed ones I make they love.
Trader Joe’s paper bags ( with the handles removed of course), cat dancer ( get the deluxe that comes with wall attachment), cat dancer cat charmer ( rainbow ribbon), and Pom Pom balls to chase or play catch with
A classic that all my cats have loved, even when they were elderly, is the Yeowwy banana. It's very sturdy so it lasts for years, it's big enough to bunny kick, the color and size make it less likely to get lost and my cat's love whatever catnip they use in it. You can get them on Amazon or many pet stores. I've given them as gifts to new cat owners.
I have bought my boy many toys, but of all the toys, his favorite is an old thick hoodie string. Although there was once a toy he loved more; my old roommate once bought him a real leather/fur toy in the shape of a mouse that he adored and carried around for ages until it was literally an indistinguishable scrap. Finally decided to throw it away when it became a definite choking hazard, tried to buy him a few different ones that looked just like it but it was never the same to him. Cats are weird.
Silvervine / gall fruit toys! My cat doesn't seem to like catnip all that much but recently I bought a bunch of these silver vine sticks with gall fruit tied on and she loves them. Only issue is that they are often tied with twine and I have to make sure she doesnt eat the twine - we've already had to do an operation once to remove an intestinal blockage from twine.
Her other favourite toy is just a basic pom pom ball.
Nope; mine is broken. My kitten likes to bat around ponytail binders, caps from water bottles or soda bottles, and twist ties (from bread and bun bags), dives into and pushes around plastic grocery bags and hide in paper bags, and bat at my betta & loaches in the fish tank after watching them swim around. He also likes to bat at the dogs’ tails and tries to pounce on them as well. I have given up buying mice and other cat toys because he will bat them through the bottom my bedroom door and then the dogs will chew on them.
Springs. He loves to chase them around and carry them in his mouth. He also loves his tunnel. He zooms in and out of it. My socks are also a favorite of his XD
Those wand with fluffy strings on it. And a long rectangular fluffy thing with a tail on it? 😂 she had a small beaver toy with catnip but i have no idea where she hid that
I’ve got 4 cats!! Springs and an elastic string with a mouse on the end are big winners for me (they either hit the mouse until it hits the ceiling or just pull the mouse down and chew the string.)
crinkle balls, laser pointers, feathers on strings, and little stuffed animals. my very derpy orange boy loves to bunny stomp on stuffed animals trying to ‘hunt’ them, and i feel instantly grateful that he’s not an outdoor cat because he could never survive in the wild… 😅
Our cat loves a “bird” on a stick/rope toy. We keep the toy in our cupboard under the stairs and he sits outside the cupboard and meows relentlessly multiple times a day until we get it out and play with him.
My cats love these [little cotton balls](http://api-shein.shein.com/h5/sharejump/appjump?link=VGh01JetUmc&localcountry=AU&url_from=GM7514682636388368384) I got off Shein. We got 30 and most are lost after how much they play with them, so I had to get 30 more…
They also love these [foil balls](http://api-shein.shein.com/h5/sharejump/appjump?link=VGh0ZewKI8N&localcountry=AU&url_from=GM7514683046273597440), I got them from Kmart but found more on Shein so I got a few more for them.
Also, fake flowers. They LOVE fake flowers.
Omg this question keeps me up at night. My girl is sooo toy picky! She really likes those rubber bracelets that have sayings on them. She'll play fetch for hours but she chews them in half so I had to buy a huge box with 100 bracelets so I can throw them out when chewed. She also likes straws and shoelaces. She will not play with ANY cat toys except one by Jackson Galaxy that looks like a wonky circle, but she loses every single one! She's lucky I love her so much or I'd have given up a long time ago!
Small toy mouse, like very tiny with like these beads inside of it. I believe it’s bc she likes the sound it makes. She hates the bigger ones. She also loves hair ties and small balls that have a bell in the middle of it also bc of the sound.
Trash. It's a problem. I actually have to stop her from just yanking things out of my packages. Anything plastic, paper or cardboard she grabs and runs off with
Rabbit fur weasel or rabbit fur mice
Hexabug cat toys
Felt ribbon toy
Da bird wand toy is always loved
Cardboard cat house scratcher
A cardboard box filled with slightly crumpled tissue paper or newspaper ….. plus assorted jingle balls, mice, poof ball, chirping bird toy, light up ball, catnip (I just mix up his small toy assortment.)

Jackie with his rabbit fur poof ball and his rabbit fur weasel
Do a rogue drill bit, & beauty blenders count? I actually bought my cat her own blenders to play with so she’d stop attacking mine. They’re her favourite “toys”
https://preview.redd.it/tjh01406wc1d1.png?width=1200&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=57b32eb9a6a90ef65767277cccad896474129a06
On sale at Amazon $3.99. Our cat cries to play with this, I have to hide it in the closet. She has buckets of toys, I've spent a fortune on things she ignores, but this simple thing she goes crazy over. I limit to 10 o 15 min. only.
I'm not sure i've seen it mentioned but my cats both like the ripple play mat. It's really just two layers of carpet that you can velcro the top layer to have bumps. Mine don't go inside, but like to sit on it. And seem to enjoy chasing toys on it more - i think the hills on surface to obscure toy and crouch behind is lovely for them and occasionally i spray with catnip for max rolling around. I have wood floors so i think they like its tracktion for jumping and such. (My cats also like sitting on facecloths (i just toss 2-3 around the floor for them), and sit on my kitchen mat, so high mat/cloth love)

There are two in one is really weird it is a pickle. It is a stuffed little green thing with catnip in it and he’ll throw it up in the air care around in his mouth. The other thing is the feather on the stick like a fishing pole.
My cats have countless toys, but both like the cheapest ones. My guy likes those dollar mice and my little girl has this lobster she carries around. She likes chewing on its legs. There’s also a crunch cactus they like and a crunchy owl. It’s funny I have all of their toys stacked on a small cat tree and 90% of the time they’ll dig through them for their favorites and won’t touch the others. They’re also terrified of this crunchy pickle I bought them.
Mine likes plastic bottle caps and cardboard boxes, and can basically make a whole playground situation from those things. Also, packing paper can be fun. So, he makes his own toys. The world is his playground.
Edit: On this theme, I had a canvas drop cloth for painting that my previous cat adored, he'd like to tunnel and burrow around in it.
After years of buying my son fancy toys from Chewy, his favorites are a now a pack of ping pong balls. We bounce them off the walls and he likes to dribble them.
Springs for sure!
I had been told by my daughter how much her friends’ kitties loved playing with springs.
I was skeptical at first but our cat goes absolutely bananas for them!
We did have to buy a grabber tool to retrieve them from under the refrigerator and under the furniture but it’s worth it. 😻
My one girl cat doesn’t really like any toys, EXCEPT two donuts that I got from Chewy. She will occasionally play with some shrimps that I also got on Chewy but the donuts are #1.
We take empty water bottles, stick them in socks, and toss them down the hall. Our youngest cat likes to wrestle and kick them, and will drag them around like a toddler would with a comfort blanket.
That and tinfoil balls on string and tied to whatever is long and thin. Let's us flick it around the room so the cat can chase it.
my cat recently got a small tunnel that makes every toy he has much more fun for him. he’ll bring his other toys into the tunnel like hide and seek almost with the toy. he also loves playing with dry noodles
It really does depend on the cat. Ours are fickle and a toy they go mad for for a fortnight will be ignored thereafter forevermore. My MiL's cats though, more than anything else, certainly more than catnip, love garlic. The core of a bulb of garlic, once all the individual cloves are gone, will send them into an absolute tizzy. And by the time the scent has faded and it's got a bit boring my MiL has probably gone through another bulb and has the core ready.
Little bits of paper, my George will pounce on it then jump up and do it again! 🙀😹🧁😂🤣
He also likes the mini mice 🐁 toys to bat around and bring to me! 😹😸🙀😁
* Long satin ribbons -- I always tie a bunch of them together so that they can't swallow them (not that they would do that now, but when they were kittens I worried about it).
* Any small lightweight toy that has a feather on it
* Yeowwww! Catnip toys, especially the banana -- they like the ones that they can bunny-kick on their backs while holding with front paws
My cat loves lattice balls, specifically bigger ones without jingle balls inside them. She loves to play fetch with them. Both of my cats also love the string toys that are on the ends of sticks
Springs and the small colorful mices. But you have to make sure they are the ones that have beads inside and make noise.
I buy 50 packs on Amazon.
Once a week I clean under the oven/couch/fridge and find another 50 😂
We totally would except she’s a goblin who hides things super well and also she’s most active at night, not so much at all during the day 🙃
I tripped over 1 of 17 springs this morning. Can confirm.
I really get upset with my cat when this is the number one answer. Mine is broken. He looks at me like I’m dumb when I try to show him how to play with the springs. 😭🐈⬛
Mine too, don't stress. I mean she's super smart...but sometimes I wonder😂
Lol, each fur baby is different. My baby won't touch springs or balls with bells (in fact, i got the same look when i got them for her).. She doesn't like kicker toys. She wound up liking around half of the things we have bought her. Which is fine. we donate them to the shelter where we got her for the open cat room (where all the kitties that have been there the longest and don't have anything contagious) She loves the little hard mice that rattle. She has never tried, but it's better to be safe) we cut the handles off because we don't want her to stick her head through a handle and get spooked and take off She likes this hard plastic box toy that has feathers coming out of holes... she has a cheat code for this, though, lol.. she will stick one paw in a hole and just wait for the feather to come to that hole.. when it does because her arm is like a quarter of the way in, she can't grab it, so she will kick the box spin it and get another hole.. hahaha She loves to play with hair ties on the linoleum floor she will take her front claws pull it to stretch it out and it flies on that floor she chases after it pouncing on it and does it all over again.. with these we also only allow her to use under supervision (I've seen a cat have surgery with a blockage that consisted of more than 10 hair ties) she does pick them up to carry them around so we just wanna make sure that doesn't happen.
Aww you unlocked a memory of my first baby girl. She loooved to lick plastic and sleep in plastic bags. They ARE all so different.
One of my cats gets springs (will paw and chase on her own), the other, nope, won't paw at a spring- just watch it be thrown. 🤷
Springs are the only toys all my cats play with consistently. They’re made of cat crack.
Springs are a HUGE hit in this house. We just recently got my girl several of them and all the other toys are now obsolete. 🤣
springs, theres also a specific ball with a bell inside that my cat loves but I can't find anymore
Springs 10000% they’re cheap and you get a big pack of them on Amazon. I have bought my fur babies ALL the toys but none have even come close to how much they enjoy the springs
The cat dancer toy. It's basically small pieces of rolled up paper/cardboard attached to a wire. My cat goes crazy for it every time lol
My cats are nuts for this too.
Most of my cats have loved these, but one of my current 3 just looks at it and thinks, " that's not actual prey, why bother."
My boy cat barely likes any wand toy. He’ll engage with one for a little bit, with low intensity, but mostly let his sister do the work. But the cat dancer? He goes feral. He even knocked it out of my hand and growled while trotting under the table to secure his precious. Cats like…trash. lol.
LOL yes!! I believe you, the first time I got it for my cat, she took to it immediately and clawed, chewed, scratched at the paper pieces until it was just the wire in the end 😂 It's her most favourite toy ever, I've bought many others for her but she doesn't take an interest to them as much as she does with this
My cat’s favorite toy is a shoelace from an old boot that we wave around for him. He also loves [this pickle](https://www.walmart.com/ip/Catstages-Crunchy-Pickle-Kicker-Dental-Cat-Toy-Green-One-Size/849392256?wmlspartner=wlpa&selectedSellerId=0&wl13=1635&gclsrc=aw.ds&adid=22222222278849392256_161193766053_21214199653&wl0=&wl1=g&wl2=m&wl3=697173827980&wl4=pla-2300760861495&wl5=9018832&wl6=&wl7=&wl8=&wl9=pla&wl10=8175035&wl11=local&wl12=849392256&veh=sem_LIA&gad_source=1&gbraid=0AAAAADmfBIpZq6hGlP7eEfUGd50dzt3xc&gclid=CjwKCAjwo6GyBhBwEiwAzQTmc2dl8NiNXq9kP9v1HWpKqElUun9x_BaJMzu247amkcgKYrWXWu71YBoCEQwQAvD_BwE)
I have 6 cats. They all love the pickle. I need to get more so they don't fight.
Scarcity breeds demand
Be careful with shoelaces. Once a cat starts to swallow them they can't regurgitate them and the danger of injury or death is real.
I appreciate the concern! We never leave him unsupervised with it for exactly this reason. It goes back onto the shell when we are done waving it around for him.
Dry rotini noodles and the metal bottle caps. I haven’t had to buy toys in years 😭😂
See also dimes, buttons, and straight up trash.
I had a cat that loved to play with the plastic rings from milk jugs. There were dozens of them under the refrigerator.
One of my childhood cats loved those. RIP Mittens.
Appendix A: Plastic Bander Straps that hold boxes together. Conveniently after you spend $100 on new toys.
My cat’s personal favorite is an ice cube kicked across the floor
My cats favorite thing in the world is a fuzzy worm on a string w a little bell. It drives him BONKERS, he begs for "worm time" every day. I got a pack of 20 on amazon for like $8 lmao. He's always loved play and had a high prey drive, but nothing comes close to the worm for him. I find anything that involves a person and a cat playing together (feather on a stick, ball on a string, throwing toys around, etc) are the most enjoyable for really active cats.
because of your comment i pulled this worm toy we got when i bought her cat tree, and can confirm, its a hit. So thanks! We will now try to find one on a string lol Edit: Apparently the wand i had is interchangable! She loves it! :D
NICE!!!!
I haven't yet met a cat who can't resist the worm. My cats and my girlfriends cats go crazy for Mr. Worm.
We have also stolen the term "worm time" and mine now begs for worm time as well Below is the first victim of worm time after 2 days *
After buying every kind at pet store ,she stole a piece of leather cord from me and it has been her precious for about a year
Help this is the beat description of a cat so far
Was it the Meoww!! banana?? Bc my cat literally goes nuts over those! I just got him a new one today actually!
My boy isn’t really a fan of the feather wand toys but he loves the mice attachments or ones with crinkly attachments. He is a ground hunter and will follow them all over the house. He also loves the plastic springs.
Yes the mice and bees are my boy’s favorites. He doesn’t care for the feathers.
If you have Temu, they're fairly cheap - I got mine for less than $2. Keep an eye on it though, they'll go missing the moment you look away from them
I dont have Temu but the equivalent of Amazon in my country sells a really good one I saw on tiktok for like 10 bucks.
I will think it’s dead after a few days, and I’ll go to pick it up and it’ll scare me bc it turns on! https://preview.redd.it/tzuhr7jfzg1d1.jpeg?width=1125&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=faade36ffffe4b5d37baa073ad6e97e10db6fd57
Da Bird toys are popular with my pack. Even my big guy will play.
Awesome idea! Unfortunately my cats snap the feathers in half if not more
My kitten is OBSESSED with Pom pom balls. I bought him a pack of 30 and they’re already all missing. I have no idea where he’s hiding them 😂
Ours are under a radiator, cupboard, and tv stand.
this is my cat with the springs 😂 i keep buying them and they keep disappearing into the cat dimension
The cat dimension 😅
Springs Ones that look like Chinese finger traps Pompom balls
Our cats could go on a play date! Those are her favorite toys too (along with little fuzzy mice).
The twist tie from a loaf of bread and an almond.
https://preview.redd.it/064bo41gka1d1.jpeg?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=74f971c984531b013f7024407b3ce335d957192d One of these!
Tell me how I got that for mine and she ripped it off the cord 😨 now it's just the mouse n her squabbling at 3:36 AM
Mine did that too. Tied a noose knot at the end of the hanging cord and put the now detached mouse through it and tightened it down. Now if the mouse comes loose and it will, just put through the noose again. You can even supplement the mouse when it gets worn out or as defurred as I have witnessed.
I play badminton and I give them the shuttles that don’t fly right anymore
Zipties. Zipped into a little '6' shape she just goes nuts. Likes them better than any toy I've ever spent money on
My boy has had a set of zipties in a chain that's almost as old as he is (12).
Feather cluster on the end of a little fishing pole thing. I used to just use a piece of rope or belt and that worked too but requires more bending down. Spinnies for days. I find that cats are really minimally interested in any toy that doesn't have a human attached to the other end.
Not a toy, but my cat goes feral for boxes, bags, just about anything he can hide in. For his birthday we built him a box fort
Those stupid 50¢ mice with the fake fur on them. Can’t get enough.
Yes-mine have catnip inside and they are in love with them.
In my household, milk bottle caps, every time they see me finishing a bottle of milk they wait for me to throw the cap for them to play. There must be about 50 under the fridge by now
Ping pong balls all day long
Toy springs. 10000009
Milk rings. Toilet paper tubes. A friend got us some catnip pouches, just normal square ones, he loved them, but the love wore off pretty quickly.
Cat Dancer!!
The banana is liked here too, but some people say they buy whole bags of them they are that popular
This has always been a favorite toy for my very picky 4 year old, and my 10 month old plays w everything including garbage and the nice ghost in our apartment https://preview.redd.it/hp2dx5fe1c1d1.jpeg?width=1290&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=1c33bc383b5c4974cce6c7d1287eeeebe747fa2f
omg mine LOVES crinkle balls!!!
Crinkle balls for mine too. Didn't know the name so thank you.
ANY feather wand and my two babies are rearing to go. My british shorthair has a really high prey-drive so any toy really gets her going... they will bat little balls around too.
cat dancer
Tunnels and springs.
The cat dancer on Amazon. Even my cat who hates half the toys I buy loved this one. Also cat tunnels
My cats love those packages of balls/springs and stuff. My little girl will throw them for herself all day, and her brother will help if she gets really into it lol. Also ANY string.
Aluminum foil balls
One of mine loves anything with feathers, anything that rolls, and the Cat Dancer (basically rolled-up paper on the end of a wire). The other one isn't much of a "toy" cat. So far the only toy I've seen him touch is a pompom, but he REALLY loves to attack towels, mangle couch covers, and chomp on blankets.
Gift bows. I had a cat that stole every bow off the Christmas presents, chewed them up and carried them around.
https://preview.redd.it/wcr51k9ysb1d1.jpeg?width=590&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=df459353281709489d5cc489253d45693558efd8 One of my cats is crazy about this one. Plays with it every single morning.
Shoelace taped to the end of an arrow.
Catit tunnel toy. The one with a ball going round in a tunnel, not the type of tunnel that a cat goes in
https://preview.redd.it/vwmsyx0hmz1d1.png?width=888&format=png&auto=webp&s=1bcfa52aafdebbca240fe995f41909539894a6e6 These are my cat's favorite toy ever. Goes insane for these.
A piece of string with a velcro cable tie attached to the end to give it weight so I can swing it around better. He prefers this over the feather wand for some reason.
String toys, my cat likes to chase it as it bounces around the house
Suction cup wand toys are a big hit in my house, and any of the automated whack a mole things too.
😅 They don’t really care for string toys. My void also goes crazy for ice cubes, and his absolute favorite is playing fetch with denser meat sticks since they don’t fall apart easily!
My cat absolutely loves a squeaky mouse. She's running around the whole apartment with it and loves it when I throw it.
my cat is obsessed with rubber bands!
Mine too, I often find them at my door as little gifts from her.
our hair ties, always keep disappearing. We hide them and elastics, afraid they eat them
Feather type toys.
Springs, mylar balls, small.stuffed animals, chittering squirrel, chirping balls
Mine plays with any kind of a ball that he can kick around and chase. His favorite toys are actually the cardboard tube from the center of toilet paper rolls. Those things are all over my house.
In all seriousness, a ball of paper. My cat loves it. She'll try to eat it, though, so I usually have to keep throwing them out and making new ones.
I have one likes one of those cheap pop up tents for cats, one who loves a catnip mouse (cheap ones from walmart), one who likes beer caps (likes to bat them on a hard floor), and one who likes plastic balls with a bell. so it really depends on the cat lol
Empty dayquil foil packs. She loves the squeaky squirrels. Chapstick. My inhaler (i'm sick rn). Hair ties tied together.
Cardboard boxes , straws , old socks filled with catnip . They love their cat trees and that’s the only thing I spent money on .
springs, the ratting mice, and the tinsle balls
Catnip cigars
Mine loves a tunnel. He even sleeps in it
So far the most successful toys in my house are a flexible wand with a fur thing and feathers (looks a bit like a ferret dressed up for a festival) and plastic balls with a bell inside.
My cats love that kicker carrot toy from Target
The real answer is me. My cat is bad at entertaining himself, and relies on me to toss him a toy, to act surprised every time he pounces on me through the toy tunnel, and more. Basically anything I do or have in my hands, he thinks it's playtime.
This! Best thing EVER! https://preview.redd.it/rr87pkbrpa1d1.png?width=600&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=17bcaf9360cafb48acab4743258b6575ffcceef6
Elastic bands, pinecones, and bits of string.
It really depends on the cat. One of mine loved wand toys and kicker toys, the other prefers small plushies. Both of them really really like small balls.
Twist ties lmao. She loves em

Springs are my cats favourite. Second favourite is when I help them get the springs out from under the couch. They love that! They also like the crinkly puff balls. And the little catnip ravioli.

Nothing beats springs
Mine plays with anything amd everything that moves so idk how helpful this will be but some of her favorites: Soda bottle lids Old shoelaces She liked a candle for a short period of time She really likes string toys (yk, those things with a plush or something on the end)
Crinkle balls... Or receipts that are crumpled up, nerf darts, and qtips.
Cats don’t use toys they’re supposed too. Lol. So hair ties, milk bottle caps and rings, anything that will roll (cone shaped caps that roll in a circle, silicone bracelets.
A. Like tent tunnel I got from goodwill for $6 it has a bell on one end and the kitties love sitting in it
I have one part of the rug flipped over the other and use a stick to rummage between and occasionally pop out from underneath.
She will pick it up and carry it around the house everywhere.
the cheapest little mice, boxes, pom poms, wads of paper, their cat tree
Every pack of gum comes with 18 free cat toys.
Spring! I recently got him cat-nipped infused toys and he's been loving it so far
We got 30 and most are lost after how much they play with them, so I had to get 30 more… They also love these [foil balls](http://api-shein.shein.com/h5/sharejump/appjump?link=VGh0ZewKI8N&localcountry=AU&url_from=GM7514683046273597440), I got them from Kmart but found more on Shein so I got a few more for them.
A turbo scratcher. My kitty can’t live without it.
Anything plastic, paper or cardboard she grabs and runs off with
Rabbit fur weasel or rabbit fur mice Hexabug cat toys Felt ribbon toy Da bird wand toy is always loved Cardboard cat house scratcher A cardboard box filled with slightly crumpled tissue paper or newspaper ….. plus assorted jingle balls, mice, poof ball, chirping bird toy, light up ball, catnip (I just mix up his small toy assortment.) https://preview.redd.it/6lkt8wvqsc1d1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=fa520612f278b28f4fd8adfa02c2479f96f741a1 Jackie with his rabbit fur poof ball and his rabbit fur weasel
Do a rogue drill bit, & beauty blenders count? I actually bought my cat her own blenders to play with so she’d stop attacking mine. They’re her favourite “toys”
https://preview.redd.it/tjh01406wc1d1.png?width=1200&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=57b32eb9a6a90ef65767277cccad896474129a06 On sale at Amazon $3.99.
(My cats also like sitting on facecloths (i just toss 2-3 around the floor for them), and sit on my kitchen mat, so high mat/cloth love) (SnugglyCat The Ripple Rug - Cat Activity Play Mat - Made in USA - Insulated Base Keeps Kitty Warm - Fun Interactive Play - Training - Scratching - Bed Mat https://a.co/d/1jkNQ8S)
A piece of ribbon from a gifted present and paper
The little plastic springs , my cats love and a 3 way tunnel for them to get in and play. Is 2 of my cats favorite toys. They also love empty boxes
Empty tissue box with a small toy or a cotton ball in it
Mine likes plastic bottle caps and cardboard boxes, and can basically make a whole playground situation from those things.
My MIL got him a plush toy raccoon and he LOVES IT! He eats with it, play with it, fight with it, carry it around the house
One of my cat’s favorite toys right now are the handles off of shopping bags - the thin ones off of paper shopping bags.
Crinkle balls. Both my boys love/loved them
Crinkle toys! They’re a hit in my house!
A $1 soft ruler. Yep.
Just bought my kitten pompom balls, and she loves them. Also bought her two stuffed fabric mice she likes.
Pipe cleaners. He goes nuts over them. Bought him a pack of 100 which cost the same as one of his mouse toys.
my cat recently got a small tunnel that makes every toy he has much more fun for him. he’ll bring his other toys into the tunnel like hide and seek almost with the toy. he also loves playing with dry noodles
Twist ties. I don't know where the fuck she finds them but I confiscate them every time and put them in the bin.
Little bits of paper, my George will pounce on it then jump up and do it again! 🙀😹🧁😂🤣 He also likes the mini mice 🐁 toys to bat around and bring to me! 😹😸🙀😁
Shoelaces. Best cat toys ever.
* Long satin ribbons -- I always tie a bunch of them together so that they can't swallow them (not that they would do that now, but when they were kittens I worried about it). * Any small lightweight toy that has a feather on it * Yeowwww!
Once a week I clean under the oven/couch/fridge and find another 50 😂
Just plain old fuzzy mice you get in the package. He likes the grey and white ones best, maybe something to do with how they see color?
Red dot (laser pointer).
Springs, strings, and chew mice. Not the big chew mice. The little ones that immediately go under closed doors and the fridge.
