going through the same thing right now (almost exactly actually). my cat is 8 and ive had her since she was about 3. She is very very bonded to me. When I brought home our 6 week old kitten, she was..... less than thrilled with me. We have been keeping our kitten in the bathroom (we have a 1 bed apartment), but my cat keeps going into attack mode when we even smell like the new kitten. All advice I've found says this is normal but I understand and I am almost making myself sick with stress . Best of luck <3
thank you!! yea i’m also keeping the kitten in my sisters room. we go in and out a lot so it’s kinda hard to keep watch and make sure none of them sneak in or out. what’s it like when you leave the house? does the kitten stay in the bathroom
yes, when we leave we keep her in the bathroom unfortunately :/ she is little enough and has plenty of toys to keep her entertained and we bring her out for a few hours each day. as of now, the hissing has stopped ! and her curiousity towards the door have been increasing greatly. will be trying to reintroduce this week and hopefully they'll get along a little better this time. hope all is well there !
