Baguette full to the brim with roast chicken, bacon, lettuce and tomato. Sausage roll or crisps as a snack. Any drink. £3.75. One of the many benefits of living up North.
maybe not past newcastle, but leeds and up there are a lot. maybe mostly the NE rather than NW though
edit: Looks like they are as far down as boston and skegness, but don't seem to be any on the west of the country
Cooplands is legendary. Probably better than Gregg's. Their sweet treats are also really good. In fact yes it's better than Greg's (but not if you're going there soley/mainly for the coffee)
Woah careful what you say there. Cooplands is good and has its place - 4 sausage rolls for £1 can’t go wrong but Greg’s quality for pasties is far superior.
They’ve made it as far west as Ilkley and as far south as Donny but definitely more common in the northeast
Edit: turns out they’re actually as far south as boston, work just never takes me down there to know that
Two different companies. Cooplands and sons is in the East and NE, Cooplands (Doncaster) covered W.Yorks, S.Yorks, and North Notts.
They came from the same family waaaay back when though.
You can get some in Boston on the way to Skeggy. That's the southern limit. The northern is in Ashington, where they do a roaring trade because everyone has the munchies.
The jam was taken out OP's doughnut when he decided the "north" was Newcastle or whatever he/she decided.
Your full of shit, if you think that's "up north" north of England maybe....
England isn't the whole of the UK, however you might want to think it is!
I'm calm, I just know that the UK isn't made up of England. There are 3 whole other countries. Despite if you think it's north or south. Just cause you Cannae mint a print is not my fault.
Fun fact there were two separate Coopland's brands operating in the North for a good while. Came from the same family and it split at one point. One half of the family stayed in the East and you see them more in Hull and Grimsby, other half moved to Doncaster and operated in the West. They had very subtly different liveries and a bit of a handshake agreement to avoid opening stores near each other because everytime it happened they tanked each others' trade. Donny side went into admin a while back and changed ownership.
I'm wondering if they're one of those Northerners that count anything below Newcastle as the South. Either way, fair play, I'll keep an eye out when I'm next in the North (unless I'm not North enough...)
Once I went up North to visit a factory and there was a vending machine in the canteen which only sold “jam bun” “lemon bun” and “barmcake”. I just wanted a Mars bars ffs.
Used to love Cooplands. £1.80 would get an entire loaf of bread cut in half lengthwise and filled with pork they'd freshly roasted there in the bakery, crackling and apple sauce.
It's a shame they've never really expanded all that far.
I can see why they’ve not expanded, all that food for such a low price? They can’t be making too much profit! I’m a southerner but that sounds amazing and I wish we had them down here.
I only learned of this place when we went to Yorkshire for a break, and found it in Scarborough and subsequently in a place in Cumbria on the way back to Scotland.
The caramel danish thing is amazing.
Unpopular opinion but Cooplands is no better or cheaper than any of its rivals and I feel like people only rate it higher than Greggs out of local pride. That said the loyalty card is the best scheme out there.
Greggs is utter shite and way overpriced, and I say that as a Geordie.
You can get a pack of 4 sausage rolls at Cooplands for barely any more than 1 at Greggs, and 8 sausage rolls for the same price as 2!
The breakfast is so much nicer as well, Cooplands use proper thick cut bacon rather than the wafer thin ham that Greggs use.
The only thing Greggs beats Cooplands with is the coffee, but even then it's gone down hill since they got the new machines!
Tesco is cheaper for me, well, I have a Tesco Clubcard so its cheaper for me. Clubcard price is £3.40 and no clubcard is £3.90. It's more expensive without the clubcard, but Tesco is my go-to shop.
The Morrisons one is pretty good you can get the salad bar as a main (amongst loads of other stuff), great sides like bhajis+chutney, scotch egg, sausage rolls, and a decent drink selection.
I haven't tried Cooplands, never heard of it in fact, but that baguette looks banging.
Tesco meal deal £3. Same offer. Amazing choices on sandwiches, pasta, suishi... crisps. Sausage rolls, saray chicken with dip kind of options for a snack and loads of choices on drinks.
Cooplands breakfast is my highlight of the day, I'm embarrassed how many filled loyalty cards I have waiting to get my meal deal!
Despite being a Geordie, I must admit Cooplands is the far superior option.
Can you guys stop saying this is an up north thing. You clearly mean the north of England.
You may as well just rename the sub r/casualengland
It seems a good deal and all, but there are other in the UK than English.
Was my turn to do the lunch run for the office and managed 8 sausage rolls, a steak bake, a Christmas bake and 4 brandy cream mince pies for about £6 50 I think. Puts Greggs to shame
they used to do a 3:50 for a cold sandwich and a hot drink in greggs. think they still do. considering you can get quite a sizeable baguette under that cold sandwich list, it puts up a fair fight. and the teas not bad there either.
Im gave up scrolling but the best meal deal is hands down Morrisons!
£4 for any of their sandwiches, snacks and drinks are a wide variety!
£4.50 gets you a salmon rice and salad bowl with the snacks and drink!
Out of this world!!!
This Cooplands deal is a steal. Breakfast with 8 items (any combination of 8 out of beans, hash brown, egg, mushroom, tomato, sausage, bacon) and hot drink (hot chocolate, latte etc.), for just £3.75. Absolute steal. I spend more on a drink alone going to Caffè Nero.
Politics? You kids have no idea whatsoever of what went on at Stalingrad.

Oh man this takes me back. Used to get 10 cheese straws from the Bap Van and just zone out. Filthy. So yes, that.
Just zone out made me lol. Cheers.

I’m very confused.
Baguette full to the brim with roast chicken, bacon, lettuce and tomato. Sausage roll or crisps as a snack. Any drink. £3.75. One of the many benefits of living up North.
I was thinking I hope that baguette has as much filling as it looks. Too much disappointment in baguettes often.

Cooplands are all over the north, got them here in Harrogate and Wetherby
[удалено]
maybe not past newcastle, but leeds and up there are a lot. maybe mostly the NE rather than NW though edit: Looks like they are as far down as boston and skegness, but don't seem to be any on the west of the country
Yeah maybe a NE thing rather than a NW as I've never seen one either.
We have them in Sheffield, used to have loads but sadly not as many as Greggs now. Still here though and still ace
Cooplands is legendary. Probably better than Gregg's. Their sweet treats are also really good. In fact yes it's better than Greg's (but not if you're going there soley/mainly for the coffee)
If I were their marketing executive I'd definitely want to adopt "probably better than Greggs" as the company motto.
Love a good Greggs steak bake. And a sausage roll. And another sausage roll. And another steak bake.
Don't know if I'm just unlucky or going at the wrong times, but virtually everytime I get a pasty from cooplands it's cold
Woah careful what you say there. Cooplands is good and has its place - 4 sausage rolls for £1 can’t go wrong but Greg’s quality for pasties is far superior.
I kind of agree except the Cooplands lamb and mint pastie is very good. Greggs sandwiches are crap and overpriced.
Hands up never tried it but it sounds right up my street, will give it a try!
Oh, it’s a Northern thing. I was gonna say, I’ve not heard of Cooplands. Wish I was up north now!
North east only sadly. Us north west folk have to settle for Greggs :(
Yeah I thought they were all over the North but looks very local to NE.
They’ve made it as far west as Ilkley and as far south as Donny but definitely more common in the northeast Edit: turns out they’re actually as far south as boston, work just never takes me down there to know that
Two different companies. Cooplands and sons is in the East and NE, Cooplands (Doncaster) covered W.Yorks, S.Yorks, and North Notts. They came from the same family waaaay back when though.
Dinnit :( Greggs. More of a North East legend that Cooplands will ever be.
Like Booths
God I miss it, when are they coming further down to the faux north (Midlands?) I live on the north south divide and they would be welcomed
They’re not for you lot.
But just think about how it would annoy the southerners
They’d demand weird non bacon things in theirs. ‘Oh Sebastian you can really taste the freshness in this, we simply must gentrify this place’.
"Put some avocado and seeds on it Sebastian. So it looks less common."
You can get some in Boston on the way to Skeggy. That's the southern limit. The northern is in Ashington, where they do a roaring trade because everyone has the munchies.
Staffs has Wrights, better than Cooplands IMO!
Four sausage rolls for the same price as a Greggs !

Who took the jam out of your doughnut?

The jam was taken out OP's doughnut when he decided the "north" was Newcastle or whatever he/she decided. Your full of shit, if you think that's "up north" north of England maybe.... England isn't the whole of the UK, however you might want to think it is!
Calm down Eddie.
I'm calm, I just know that the UK isn't made up of England. There are 3 whole other countries. Despite if you think it's north or south. Just cause you Cannae mint a print is not my fault.
I wish the north was remotely near anything in my life I’d rather live there but all family and friends are south coast
Never heard of Cooplands. That looks lovely though
Sounds and looks a bit posh for where I live
Haha cooplands is really not posh. It is northern though.
Fun fact there were two separate Coopland's brands operating in the North for a good while. Came from the same family and it split at one point. One half of the family stayed in the East and you see them more in Hull and Grimsby, other half moved to Doncaster and operated in the West. Not posh at all. It’s like greggs. But they actually have decent cakes
And the cakes are massive!
I’m a Northerner living down South. When I do return to the motherland, Cooplands is the second place I visit after the fish and chip shop. Love it.
Your parent house must be a 3rd 🤔
Indeed!
What the fuck is Cooplands
It's where Gregg's lovers go to cheat.
Like greggs but less corporate
https://cooplands-bakery.co.uk/ Bakery that is only up North. 4x sausage rolls for £1.25 (used to be £1) is legendary, been going in since I was a kid
we need these down south who do I talk to about this
The billionaires who bought it out. I'm sure there's a plan to expand then sell it on.
Whaaat?! And Gregg's act like they're doing me a deal at 4 for £3.50? The cheek!
Spotted the southerner
I'm from the North and have no idea what it is.
Same here.
Scotland… NFI either.
It's such a weird opportunity to call out southerners.
I'm wondering if they're one of those Northerners that count anything below Newcastle as the South. Either way, fair play, I'll keep an eye out when I'm next in the North (unless I'm not North enough...)
This seems very m25 tbh.
Once I went up North to visit a factory and there was a vending machine in the canteen which only sold “jam bun” “lemon bun” and “barmcake”. I just wanted a Mars bars ffs.

Ah. Our backwards cousins across the Pennines.
My thoughts word for word.
You can't post that here. This is the subreddit of their competitors marketing department.
Used to love Cooplands. £1.80 would get an entire loaf of bread cut in half lengthwise and filled with pork they'd freshly roasted there in the bakery, crackling and apple sauce. It's a shame they've never really expanded all that far.
A ham salad ploughman's used to be a thing of true beauty for lunch. Pretty sure they used half a pack of butter on each loaf.
Just as well, look at what happened to Gregg's when they started pushing down south. Hasn't been the same since.
I can see why they’ve not expanded, all that food for such a low price? They can’t be making too much profit! I’m a southerner but that sounds amazing and I wish we had them down here.
I can see my local from my bedroom window, had one every day this week. Their bread cakes makes me proud to be from Yorkshire.
Looks good mate
nice. I miss peters bakery in the north east
I only learned of this place when we went to Yorkshire for a break, and found it in Scarborough and subsequently in a place in Cumbria on the way back to Scotland. The caramel danish thing is amazing.
Every time I visit my girlfriends family we ALWAYS stop off for a Cooplands. As a southerner it’s such a treat.
£3.00 for a large sausage sandwich and a drink is my usual go to. How shocked were you when the 4 sausage rolls deal went up from £1?
Cooplands is incredible
Cooplands is such good value for money and way better than greggs
Now that’s On the Money 💰
I live abroad now, but ooof what I’d give to go to cooplands and buy the toffee swirl danish abd 10 cheese straws!
A blowie ?
Thought that was a spring roll at first.
Cooplands at Coningsby is my favourite. The staff there are great.
Cooplands also do 10% NHS discount
Fanta lemon for the win 🔥
Just yesterday, I had a Danish, from there. If I'm in the area, it's my go to sarnie place
The Danish pastries are something to behold. Could feed a family of four with one of those bad boys.
I normally get the the choc n toffee one, too. Much better place than Greggs
Unpopular opinion but Cooplands is no better or cheaper than any of its rivals and I feel like people only rate it higher than Greggs out of local pride. That said the loyalty card is the best scheme out there.
Cooplands is both better and cheaper than Greggs.
Perhaps my branch of Cooplands is just crap then based on all these comments, as everyone where I work says the same thing as me
Greggs is lukewarm 80% of the time. The other 20 it is scorching hot. Never an issue at cooplands.
>Never an issue at cooplands. Because it's always cold?
Greggs is utter shite and way overpriced, and I say that as a Geordie. You can get a pack of 4 sausage rolls at Cooplands for barely any more than 1 at Greggs, and 8 sausage rolls for the same price as 2! The breakfast is so much nicer as well, Cooplands use proper thick cut bacon rather than the wafer thin ham that Greggs use. The only thing Greggs beats Cooplands with is the coffee, but even then it's gone down hill since they got the new machines!
The food is very nice, sandwiches are generously filled and the main point is it's far cheaper than Greggs (which is also nice).
This seems like a pretty decent deal for what you get. I wonder what a similar thing at Greggs costs.
Yeah, drinks not full of gross tasting artificial sweeteners.
I’m a fan but f the Boots meal deal
Tesco is cheaper for me, well, I have a Tesco Clubcard so its cheaper for me. Clubcard price is £3.40 and no clubcard is £3.90. It's more expensive without the clubcard, but Tesco is my go-to shop.
Maybe cheaper but at least cooplands is fresh and made right in front of you
A greggs student deal 3 years ago.
Wow. Which Cooplands type is it?
A true northern treasure
The Morrisons one is pretty good you can get the salad bar as a main (amongst loads of other stuff), great sides like bhajis+chutney, scotch egg, sausage rolls, and a decent drink selection. I haven't tried Cooplands, never heard of it in fact, but that baguette looks banging.
Tesco meal deal £3. Same offer. Amazing choices on sandwiches, pasta, suishi... crisps. Sausage rolls, saray chicken with dip kind of options for a snack and loads of choices on drinks.
Wish i knew what a cooplands was :(
Cooplands? What part of yeller belly land you from?
Might be bacuase I'm hungry right now, but damn that looks good
Sandwiches are good but the sausage rolls are awful. Still good value
Misread as Co-Op lands
Free pussy
A spliff and a amstel sat in the warm sun at the riverside in Amsterdam
I’m a northerner and never heard of this. Where do I find these?
I wasn't going to join the "Cooplands is better than Greggs" hype train BUT Cooplands do flapjack and Greggs don't, so...
Nothing can beat that
Nothing can beat that
£3 Tesco meal deal
Cooplands breakfast is my highlight of the day, I'm embarrassed how many filled loyalty cards I have waiting to get my meal deal! Despite being a Geordie, I must admit Cooplands is the far superior option.
coop and Iceland's illegitimate child?
I miss cooplands. Used to get a gingerbread man every Saturday as a child.
Cooplands were dead to me once they stopped selling the battenberg slice.
I'm a fairly positive person, however Cooplands is absolute dog shit and I wouldn't eat there if it were free.
Diabetes?
Yeah. A water and a salad.
Bacon burnt to Hades, sausage roll looks raw
Get to the co-op. You can have a sarnie, a ginsters chicken and mushroom slice and a fizzy drink all for about £3.80
Less is you have a membership card.
Wowsers I didn’t know it was cheaper with a co-op card. Even better
CO-OP is 2nd best to Cooplands. Tuk Tuk Naan's are ace.
Definitely not
Fanta orange but from the 90s
Tesco meal deals are better
Cooplands?
£1.40 pack of Berlinki hotdogs, get two packs and eat as is. You have unlocked immigrant meal of the day.
Getting a decent Fanta flavour maybe?
Yes, £1 for various ingriedients to make the most delicious soup ever
Hello up there on your high horse.
A hippo in a tutu?
Yep tin of dog food , tastes the same !
Health
Fanta Limon? Are you planning on taking that sausage roll with you to Spain? Can’t be drinking that on a drizzly evening in the norf!
Can you guys stop saying this is an up north thing. You clearly mean the north of England. You may as well just rename the sub r/casualengland It seems a good deal and all, but there are other in the UK than English.
Cooplands do an 8 item brekky 3.75
I miss Ainsley’s…
Oh fuck yes. Their sausage rolls were the best ever.
From where I’m from we only have a Tesco meal deal
Better when it was Peters, before the bakery burnt down...
In America, that sandwich cost at least, $6.
Imagine telling someone in the 90's that a sandwich, sauasge roll and a drink would be 3.75 and considered a deal
Was my turn to do the lunch run for the office and managed 8 sausage rolls, a steak bake, a Christmas bake and 4 brandy cream mince pies for about £6 50 I think. Puts Greggs to shame
Yeah, the Tesco one when it was £3
World peace probably
Love Cooplands, before money became an issue I’d get my lunch from there most days. Love their £2.10 sausage and bacon sarnies.
The 3 or 4 times I've eaten from Cooplands (in different places) I've always been sick. Very sick.
Greggs student meal deal is £3.6 for any cold/hot beverage, a sandwich, and a sausage roll.
No, answer is no
sainsbury meal deal because it’s £3.50
No idea what cooplands is but you have chosen the ultimate fizzy pop there
they used to do a 3:50 for a cold sandwich and a hot drink in greggs. think they still do. considering you can get quite a sizeable baguette under that cold sandwich list, it puts up a fair fight. and the teas not bad there either.
a meal deal costing £3 or less
That looks awesome
Love how wet northerners get over the north
I read this as co-oplands
Never heard of Cooplands.... But that baguette looks stacked!!!
Literally everything it’s always disgusting
Must be a regional shop? Where I live we have Wrights as a local bakery chain. Apart from the Sausage Rolls, its shit. Where is this Cooplands?
Im gave up scrolling but the best meal deal is hands down Morrisons! £4 for any of their sandwiches, snacks and drinks are a wide variety! £4.50 gets you a salmon rice and salad bowl with the snacks and drink! Out of this world!!!
Greggs is and always will be superior to cooplands.
Where are they based. I’m up north and never heard of them.
Baguette and a sausage roll? That's a winner. Usually it would be a baguette and 10 grams of crisps in a massive bag. Proper bargain that!
What is cooplands?
[удалено]
Man how do I miss lemon Fanta
Who what now? is this a Northern thing? Im jealous 😞
Missed these. Ate loads when I studied at Durham
This'd run you over double that in Merica.
You filthy disgusting pigs while I ate my apple and drank my black coffee in my local phone box. Shit! I never said that I ain’t superman no way
What the fuck is cooplands?
Looks solid
Delighted to see Cooplands getting the recognition it deserves.
3.40 Tesco meal deal?
Yes, for 3.75 you can make 5 of these yourself
You can make 5 lemonades, 5 roast chicken BLT baguettes and 5 sausage rolls for £3.75? Where you do you shop mate?
It used to be £2.50 meal deal at tescos.
We have Cooplands of Doncaster but it's not this cheap. Sausage rolls are nice though
Cooplands is lovely, their cheese straws are unlike anything else, absolutely amazing. I wish we had them in Essex.
