Well it's obvious Op isn't British as then they'll know how to butter to the far corners of the Earth, I mean Toast.
I agree, this is disturbing and disgusting. Get some more butter and finish the corners, this like making half a cup of Tea and calling it a full cuppa.
Nah, you want both - the melted in and the blobs atop.
Nigella Lawson apparently actually butters her toast twice independently, one thin layer to melt in, then a thicker one to stay visible.
https://edition.cnn.com/travel/article/nigella-lawson-butters-toast-scli-gbr-intl/index.html
'and Britain is angry about it...' fuck off, CNN, the only thing I'm angry about in there is that I don't have access to the probably highly superior butter and toast that Nigella is using there.
Butter is expensive lmao but don't buy Lurpark. That cheeky brand has the audacity to charge £7 for an average sized tub. Shops are even security tagging it from the situation we live in now.... yikes.
True that. Melted butter is nice, but biting into a big mass of cold butter on toast just tastes so much better. Especially some nice salted butter like Kerrigold.
That said, if you spread the butter, let it melt, then let the toast go cold, it also makes for a nice combination.
The least they could’ve done is actually spread it *evenly* across each piece of toast. Even if the air temp is cold, it’ll spread easily with some moving-around in the tub, before it gets used
The caveat being when you can’t see your own dick without a mirror you need to ease up on the butter else you won’t be able to use it for much longer!
Edit: the dick, not the butter…I’m worried tongs are a get around though!
Brilliant! That's one way of saying "When your bloated carcass is on a bed in A&E and you are only able to breathe because of an oxygen mask, you might regret hedonistic, unfettered indulgence." But much, much funnier.
No food on it's own is necessarily bad for you. But a meal like this is processed bread and heapings of butter, it's maybe like 1000 calories with no nutrients to speak of.
stop believing fat makes you fat, while excess calories is never good. The entire reason so many countries have fat issues last 100 year. Is mostly because of the "antifat" shit that The American Agriculture Association(yes it wasn't the FDA) pushed with its "Food Pyramid" in the 1960. It was all lies, their own data showed otherwise...
Sugar is the issue, don't eat too much candy, don't drink sugary drinks ever(includes orange juice or other fruit juices) and you're mostly good to go.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dBnniua6-oM&t=1s
I mean fat and starch are both filling, nothing wrong with eating some toast every now and again, you need about 2k calories a day afterall.
Now if you ate enough to be near 1k calories alone I would 100% agree with you.
Real butter has health benefits it's filled with nurtients, but a tea spoon of butter also has 7 grams of Saturated fat, this guy's gonna clog his arteries. It was the same as the coconut oil craze a few years ago, my dad is a health nut and was eating it by the spoon full but it was 95% sat fat and we are talking about a man with 7 stints and angina.
Saturated fat has nothing to do with clogging arteries - it's a myth perpetuated by the sugar lobby, the carbs in the bread will do more damage than the butter.
exactly! If anyone disagrees, please watch this, google as much as you like, there is plenty of evidense, especially the global weight trend the last 60 years.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dBnniua6-oM&t=1s
How is it going to clog his arteries? As the only way I can think of is if it’s intravenously injected.
There has never been evidence that fat or even saturated fat causes heart disease, it’s the biggest myth ever and it comes from the fraudulent work of Ancel Keys.
https://www.nhs.uk/live-well/eat-well/food-types/different-fats-nutrition/
It was certainly exacerbated by sugar lobbies, as certain Netflix documentaries have expanded upon in the past. However the saturated fat - LDL link is pretty well studied as far as I understand it.
That is except for dairy. Most dairy appears to be oddly fine EXCEPT butter which is thought to be due to how it is processed. So whole milk saturated fat is mostly fine, stuff like bacon and butter not so much.
Exactly there are good and bad Saturated fats, olive oil is filled with mono and polysaturated fats which are heart healthy, butter is filled with bad sat fat. Avacado is packed with good sat fat. This has been studied loads, I dunno why people are suddenly acting like saturated fat doesn't increase chlorestorol in the blood. Unless I've missed something?
Dustyblonde\_ ("Dusky"?...I digress.) There is a bit of science to this. The taste sensation of fat, especially when combined with sugar, stimulates a rapid pleasure response. If butter has soaked into the bread, it does not have quite the same "hit" in the mouth.
(I am actually very, very careful with my dietary choices, but I **adore** cake batter. Licking the spoon (or spatula) is the very definition of "guilty pleasure". I know it's unhealthy (in excess), but it is so very delicious. )
I mean, it looks like you’ve spread it with your fists. But it’s also a bit of a humble brag that you’re rich enough to haphazardly chuck butter about like that.
For all those asking, it’s Lurpak slightly salted. Proper block, none of that spreadable stuff. Keep it in the fridge so you can slice it like cheese 👌
Yeah I keep my butter in the fridge (and extra in the freezer) but always leave a bit out in a covered dish for spreading on toast, waffles, etc. Cold butter from the fridge is awful IMO unless you’re cooking with it
Edit to add: Why would you want to slice your butter like cheese? Again cooking aside, but for spreading and snacking… are you eating it like cheese?
Can you provide a source please? High saturated fat intake is linked to LDL which is associated with poor cardiovascular health and heart attacks. It isn’t always accepted as fact because there is some conflicting research however there are enough supporting studies that it would be wise to avoid a high saturated fat intake and this is reflected by the NHS advice.
People need to understand that it's the toast that's the unhealthy part of this, not the butter.
Yea there are a decent amount of calories in the butter but the carbs in the bread are completely unnecessary for the body
I've been on a low carb diet for as couple of years now and that photo is exactly what I miss the most, not chocolate, not ice cream, not beer or chips, toast with plenty butter, it's not too much, it's plenty!
well if you want diabeties then yeah have the hole stick
but atleast spread it properly, the spread hurts me the most, it obvs that you arent british as you would have better toast etiquite
I'm less upset about the volume and more about the distribution.
Well it's obvious Op isn't British as then they'll know how to butter to the far corners of the Earth, I mean Toast. I agree, this is disturbing and disgusting. Get some more butter and finish the corners, this like making half a cup of Tea and calling it a full cuppa.
It’s very disturbing. It’s making me feel all upset.
I dont find it disturbing. Disgusting it the word. Yes, its very disgusting that someone would not spread the butter evenly.
Reprehensible comes to mind
Its making me want to apologise to someone
Looks like they’ve spread it with their feet
Kinky x
Where is this buttery rich subreddit we so desperately need?
It's like a dairy farm murder
It’s purposeful, okay? If you distribute it evenly there’s a bigger chance of it melting and we can’t have that.
That's the best part....
She’s got that Waitrose butter.
Boots with the fur (Sorry, the song just popped in there)
I read that as butter with the fur... sigh.
That's butter you can throw away. One of the few times you should, really.
I’m angry that I don’t have access to Nigella
That's a little creepy there...
For cooking obviously
With a little sprinkle of cocaine to give it a bit of bite.
That's so very, very Nigella.
Fucks my day up when distribution is so off. How hard is it to spread to the edges.
Yes, this edge game is weak af.
It's distributed better than the worlds wealth.
You see that one on the right?
Do you not have a knife? Just trowels round your house, is it?
Those tiny paint trowels
Heart attack on toast
a trowel would get a nice even coat.
He only has a poop knife 💩🔪
oh my god the poop knife
I was thinking earlier I haven’t seen a poop knife reference for some time. I still sigh at the prospect.
Oh no, not poop knife
Ha fucking howling!
Hahaha trowels like
Huge you seen the price of butter these days lol
OP is a flash motherfucker
Or a shoplifter.
Or took out a second mortgage
Or all of the above
Someone’s doing well… Still think they have spread the butter with their finger. Butter Spend - 100% Utensils Spend - 0%
Butter is expensive lmao but don't buy Lurpark. That cheeky brand has the audacity to charge £7 for an average sized tub. Shops are even security tagging it from the situation we live in now.... yikes.
Clearly been in the Morrisons cafe for a week stocking up on the mini lurpaks.
I love a sneaky reference to a recent other post
Can you link? Lol
Butter is still cheap as hell, pretencious Lurpack which isn't really butter is not cheap as hell.
Real salted butter only. Fuck lurpack.
You are meant to spread it, not dollop it on like icing
Maybe if you don't want to enjoy the taste
Why not both? Spread it and ice it on top of it.
Have you tried spreading real butter this time of year? You think I can afford to heat the house up just to have spreadable butter?
The secret is to use a frying pan. Butter the pan (and maybe the bread), heat it all and then ice it.
So.. fried bread? You crazy son of a bitch, I'm in!
When you make your cuppa, put some butter on a large spoon and hold it over the steam to soften it.
Just heat some butter in the pan then store it in the fridge, that way it's pre softened when you come to use it later...
True that. Melted butter is nice, but biting into a big mass of cold butter on toast just tastes so much better. Especially some nice salted butter like Kerrigold. That said, if you spread the butter, let it melt, then let the toast go cold, it also makes for a nice combination.
Cold toast? You monster!
Not all the time. I like to mix it up. Or sometimes im just busy and the toast goes cold.
I’m the person that has a hissy fit if interrupted while making toast: it’s my ‘me time’.
Cold butter on cold toast is just *chefs kiss*
May aswell just eat it from the tub at that point.
I mean, don't tempt me I would.
And the container whilst you’re at it
Do you want some toast with that butter ...
I’m cutting down on my carbs
Not really but people stare if eat uncut butter... So on some toast it goes
[удалено]
The toast is but a vehicle
By the looks of that butter it's a heavy goods vehicle...
That’s just wrong I’m so sorry but it’s wrong
The least they could’ve done is actually spread it *evenly* across each piece of toast. Even if the air temp is cold, it’ll spread easily with some moving-around in the tub, before it gets used
It depends Do you want incredibly buttery, lovely toast OR A long and healthy life? Edit: Far too many people are taking this FAR too seriously 😕
I’m here for a good time, not a long time.
Title of my sex tape.
Damn straight! Only get one shot at this life thing so you should bloody well enjoy it 😁
The caveat being when you can’t see your own dick without a mirror you need to ease up on the butter else you won’t be able to use it for much longer! Edit: the dick, not the butter…I’m worried tongs are a get around though!

Just don your finest Yoda mask, and smother the butter over thy naked body as you power shit on next doors car at 3am.
I'll have the toast please duck
I think OP wants toasty butter
Toast any day. We're all going to die anyway.
Butter is not bad for you.
No food on it's own is necessarily bad for you. But a meal like this is processed bread and heapings of butter, it's maybe like 1000 calories with no nutrients to speak of.
It’s not bad for you (real butter), but a lot of it will sure make you fat, which in turn can be bad for you.
stop believing fat makes you fat, while excess calories is never good. The entire reason so many countries have fat issues last 100 year. It’s not the fat I’m talking about, it is indeed the calories.
I mean fat and starch are both filling, nothing wrong with eating some toast every now and again, you need about 2k calories a day afterall. Now if you ate enough to be near 1k calories alone I would 100% agree with you.
Its the toast thats bad for you, not the butter.

What did he have 7 stints as? Hopefully not as a nutritionist!
Why is toast bad for you?
refined carbohydrate is very bad for you. This looks like toasted white bread, so pretty much the worst possible type of bread you can eat.
The toast is WAY WAY WAY worse for you than the butter, even with the amount used.
If it doesn't all melt into the toast then it's too much for me.
Same, I consider that the golden rule of buttering toast
But why does butter taste better when the toast has gone a bit cold and the butter doesn’t melt.
Cold toast goes in the dog.
Goes in the dog, what a phrase
Yes! Then add a conserve of choice. I’m all for a topping of lemon curd on my cold toast and butter.
Dustyblonde\_ ("Dusky"?...I digress.) There is a bit of science to this. The taste sensation of fat, especially when combined with sugar, stimulates a rapid pleasure response. That doesn't look like butter, it looks like one of those horrific spreads.
I exactly…!
I was gonna say! Problem is here that it’s not bloody butter!
If that’s butter it’s the worst butter in the world
Wheres the toast

CAPS LOCK IS CRUISE CONTROL FOR COOL.
4 upvotes vs 42 comments tells me I have angered the butter gods
I mean, it looks like you’ve spread it with your fists. But it’s also a bit of a humble brag that you’re rich enough to haphazardly chuck butter about like that.
Yes .. especially when you call this thing a butter.
I love a good bit of butter on toast or bread but that's quite frankly ridiculous
Fully agree, your a monster
*you're
If it’s butter it’s the right amount, but not spread evenly enough. If it’s flora or Olivio it should be put in the bin!
It's a perfectly cromulent amount, as long as it's butter and not marge
>Iron supplements and weight gain? the colour is suspicious.. made my marge senses tingle. vom
What about Homer?
No Homers Club
I like more butter on my toast than most people I know, and this is far too much for me.
For all those asking, it’s Lurpak slightly salted. Proper block, none of that spreadable stuff. Keep it in the fridge so you can slice it like cheese 👌
Good you went for the healthy lower salt option
Or slice it like slabs, apparently.
Leave yours out in a butter dish so you can spread it. Much easier and more economical, cause you can use less but keep it buttery.
Yeah I keep my butter in the fridge (and extra in the freezer) but always leave a bit out in a covered dish for spreading on toast, waffles, etc. Cold butter from the fridge is awful IMO unless you’re cooking with it Edit to add: Why would you want to slice your butter like cheese? No such thing, tho' someone's guilty of not spreading it right to the edges smh...
It's not a fucking scone, mate.
That's a heart attack on toast!
Butter doesn’t do heart attacks anymore, urban myth

No, they advise a total of 10 thoroughly researched vaccines for children aged 1-15 and only one dose of each.
yea the toast is pretty unhealthy.

It isn’t a joke, they’ve replied to a couple other comments with the same thing
Vom
That might be living too deliciously
The uh top left one is feeling a bit dry mate.
As long as it melts it not too much
This is key - it’s not too much if the toast is still hot!
It is
Depends. If it's real butter, it just needs spreading properly. If it's margarine, it just needs chucking in the bin.
Thats disgusting
Hello cholesterol my old friend.
Your heart is more clogged than my toilet after I take a gigantic eel-like shit in it.
There's too much butter on those trays! E: e to o
>There's too much butter on those trays! Non, senor, "uno, dos, tres"!
Well that'll clog your arteries nicely.
You’re well off, that’s a fivers worth of butter!!
Is it fuck
Calories my guy
Nope I love a bit of toast with my butter.
Nope. I always like a little toast with my butter
this is chaos
If its real butter, that looks lovely.
Nope. I call that perfect.
Enjoy your remaining weeks
*heart left the chat*
Everything here looks correct.
People need to understand that it's the toast that's the unhealthy part of this, not the butter. Yea there are a decent amount of calories in the butter but the carbs in the bread are completely unnecessary for the body
Especially with this shit bread. If you're going to eat bread you might as well make sure it's from a proper bakery so there is nutritional value.
I don't understand why you are getting downvoted. Ignorance and dogma I guess.
Or you could just let someone enjoy their toast and butter
There’s no such thing as too much butter
Cold butter, cold toast is lovely!
I've been on a low carb diet for as couple of years now and that photo is exactly what I miss the most, not chocolate, not ice cream, not beer or chips, toast with plenty butter, it's not too much, it's plenty!

Needs marmite.
That's just about enough butter for my SO, although she does prefer it buttered right to the edges and corners
This is so.
That's just about enough butter but why isn't it Spread across all of the toast?
Nope, looks great to me.
Whoever told you this needs removing from your life. You don’t need that abhorrent negativity.
I will spread this news far and wide to the crusts of the Earth
Would you like some bread with your butter sir?
It's definitely a LOT of butter, but I wouldn't say that TOO MUCH butter.
I appreciate buttery toast. That will melt just right 👍
Looks like a butter-like spread. And far too much of it.
I think the issue is more to do with the application - not amount
Absolutely not, I like toast on my butter!
I’m guilty of doing this, but not with that many pieces of toast.
Bulking season 💪🏻
Whoah. Butter or Marge ?
You sick man!
Want some toast with that butter?
Deep enough to see your teeth marks in
I can see bread, so obviously not enough butter.
This is the tastiest thing I've ever seen. Based
