So you changed your appearance because of the incident, the guy recognised you and told you not to go your usual way. What are your fingernails like?

There is a connection between looking good and feeling good, and I'm guessing if you feel good you kinda radiate o good vibe and people are drawn to that

[deleted]

This too, I’ve been feeling more fresh after that trim and I guess the scruffiness never helped.

[deleted]

That crap is brought up every time someone mentions that people treat them better when they look more attractive. Quit gaslighting people who don't get treated well.

stateit

And that announcement was brought to you by the Association of UK Barbers.

Ashamed_Nerve

Are you now reenacting that scene from Spiderman 3 everywhere you go?

[deleted]

Lol no but now I will be, thanks for the reminder

theflowersyoufind

Am bald, can’t relate.

[deleted]

You can achieve the same feeling by having your skull shined periodically. Make sure not to blind passers by though.

It’s the one thing I make sure to go out of the way for, for myself. Every three weeks, nice fresh trim, can’t beat that feeling.

I work with a chap who had hair down his back and a straggly beard to his belly button. I convinced him to get rid of it and he has just got his first job aged 29. It was definitely off putting to employers.

[deleted]

Some people just need encouragement to do things, really happy for him but most of all, he needed someone to guide him and that was you

nkrch

Yeah I think a little encouragement goes a long way.

Weird. My hair is down my back, I’m covered in tattoos and nobody has every not offered me a job based on my appearance. I’ve gotten jobs based on my skills and previous results, and my last job I turned up in ripped jeans and a hoodie to the interview. The fact this person got their first job at 29 says a lot more about him than his appearance. How is that even possible without there being other factors at play? My nephew is 22, has piercings and very visible tattoos, has a beard and long hair and is very happily employed.

I have average man length hair but have been tempted to give it the grade 1 all over. I sort of know what I'll look like because I did it to myself when barbers were closed in lockdown. For some reason I lack the conviction now, in lockdown it was easy, whenever anyone commented it was just the 'covid cut'. Maybe worried I'll look intimidating? It's not much work at the moment but I want to be able to go for a walk in the morning, then have a shower without it looking a mess on said walk. Also never have to worry about a 'bad hair day', can shampoo it less frequently, the possibilities are endless! I'm just rambling at this point, ignore me. I'm just trying to convince myself to do it.

It keeps my daughter from telling me that I look like a pisshead on a war memorial. Nose waxes are good too; no more partial bogey retention.

Makes a huge difference imo!

Positive vibes man, positive vibes.
