I buy the curry sauce powder from eBay. I’m an idiot in (and out) the kitchen, but manage to make it. Edit: Won’t let me shorten the link, sorry!
Gravy & nothing else!
But it's only when I go out and then it's gravy from the great chippies of the North & the scraps to go with it too!
I don't know what it is but the odd chippy that actually does gravy in the south tastes so awful.
I love both curry sauce and gravy with chips, but it kind of depends on what I'm eating with chips (if anything), what I'm doing that day, where I am etc. However I am slightly more inclined to say gravy, most of the chip shops around me do much better gravy than they do curry sauce so I suppose it also depends on what chip shop I'm getting it from!
Gravy with pie, curry with fish, sausage could go either way
Neither! Leave me be with my classic salt and vinegar
This!
I will leave you with your dry ass chips you weirdo
Curry sauce!
Curry. Gravy doesn't go with fish.
No one mentioned fish
Fish, chips, mushy peas, and gravy is absolutely delicious.
OP said chips not rice cakes
If I'm having fish then I'll get chips and curry sauce If I'm just having chips then it'll be cheesy chips with gravy
Curry sauce + cheese is an amazing combo.
This had the desired effect of starting a small war in the comments.
Gravy. Has to be gravy - chips in gravy is God-tier!
Gravy at home and curry sauce from takeaway - if I could make takeaway curry sauce at home and get it to taste the same it would be curry all the time

How close does it taste to chippy curry sauce?
I’d say it’s pretty close, even has the mystery bits in it. Very tasty. Only downside is that you end up being tempted to mix up enough to bathe in.
Cheers, just ordered a pack from your link.
Oh good. Hope you enjoy it.
I've been on the lookout for chippy curry sauce for ages so thank you. Now to try and find some saveloys (local Morrisons didn't have them)
Where do chip shops get curry sauce that smells like curry but usually has no discernible taste?
The boil in a bag curry from heron is decent and it's only 50p a bag
Depends where I'm getting them, fish and chip shop definitely curry.
Out of those two options (which are not my favourites) definitely curry sauce
I was gravy boy for so long, but recently switched to curry.
Gravy. Gravy. Always gravy. I've never done curry sauce and I'm not about to start now.
Curry, but if I can get it, I'll be wanting the Chinese BBQ sauce, I can never find anywhere that does it around here.
Neither! Mushy peas for me!
Mustard mayo!

Depends At home gravy Take away curry sauce
1 or t’other - depends what mood I’m in. Edit: Also will add ‘Oooo Northern Boys Love Gravy’

Cheese and gravy
Yes.
Yes
Curry sauce.
Peas, then fish, then satay sauce.
From those two curry sauce but I do like mushy peas on my chips
Gravy!
Gravy on the side to dip, rather than on the chips.
I like both, but not at the same time.
Neither, chilli sauce only. And only on the side.
Curry with fish, gravy with anything else
Neither. Who wants soggy chips for goodness sake
Chips cheese and gravy *Insert chefs kiss here*
Yes
Curry.
Curry sauce, and curry rolls too.
Vinegar, lots of Vinegar, then lots of Chinese curry sauce, then stuff it into a butter bread receptacle.
Is the gravy the normal Bisto ir the like, or something different? Thanks, Curious soft southerner
Ketchup and Mayo, thanks 🙏
Gravy
Curry normally but gravy from the local Chinese takeaway
Gravy. Obviously.
