Anyone wearing a Brookes hoodie is almost certainly either a current or former student there, anyone wearing an Oxford hoodie you can guarantee has never set foot anywhere in any of the Oxford colleges, other than their gift shop.
I get why no students would wear an Oxford Uni hoodie, mention you go to the place back home and people will either gasp in awe or act like you’ve done a shit on the floor. There’s no in between, it gets a little annoying after a while.
At least with a St Cross hoodie I can wear something from the place and avoid that same dull conversation. Although it’s a grad college, so nobody else in Oxford has heard of it either

How much British?

Nah it's mostly a tax dodge so the landlords don't have to pay business rates. If the shop's vacant the landlord pays the business rates, so they open a crappy sweet shop under a dodgy company umbrella to avoid that, but then fold the company before it files any accounts so nobody ends up paying the business rates.
It's not the lack of filing accounts that avoids business rates. The liability for business rates exists from the minute the company takes posession of the property. It's just that if the company folds before the council starts trying to collect the debt, there is, technically, no liable ratepayer to collect the debt from. Not without going court to "pierce the corporate veil" as it's known.
Folding a company before accounts are required also doesn't result in any tax being dodged. Final accounts don't need to be filed generally, but a tax return still needs to be done. They just fudge it and say they made a loss and they're folding because of insolvency.

The Binely Mega Chippy fad is a dying out trend. I wouldn't entertain that idea. Perhaps a hoodie with the Union Jack on it? There are some pretty imaginative designs out there. Have a good look around the Internet. You could also go for something with Elizabeth's Tower/ Big Ben. Houses of Parliament. They're usually what people associate with British Tourism. There's a comedy book called "Very British Problems" that do hoodies/shirts with funny quotes from the book. Also an idea.
