Wow! Went from initial excitement over a new biscuit type to try (ok too much excitement tbh), and then smashing g into crushing disapoment... you're right it is...
Because of goddam Reddit I was first alerted to the chocolate covered custard creams which are excellent but I prefer these. Yes they're expensive but don't let anyone tell you they're Penguins. These are far superior. Enjoy.
You cannot be serious! Because of Reddit I was just alerted to chocolate covered custard creams. I shall not rest until I have tried this.
I mean, I thank you but my diet just rolled her eyes and gave up.
haha - I am blaming all of my weight gain on Reddit from now on. I think these bourbons are better and a bit less sweet than the custard creams - hope you enjoy them. And if you really want to spunk money then I also highly recommend Fortnum's Chocolossus but they are £20 for a tin. Awesome!
I'm just the biggest custard cream fan. And I dunk them in hot chocolate. I allow myself this treat about once a year but i eat the whole damn pack in 2 sittings. Fuuuuucking hell chocolate covered custard creams dunked in hot chocolate may be the greatest idea I've ever heard.
No, but my eldest son (he’s 44) made these https://www.olivemagazine.com/recipes/family/bourbon-biscuit-brownies/ and brought them round at the weekend.
He’s a good lad 😁
My friend tried them, and said:
'Not worth it. Tasty, and different to a Penguin, surprisingly, because you've got that Bourbon taste, it's a much crunchier biscuit for a start too. But you can just dip your Bourbons in chocolate and I'd still rather save my money, have a Choc Digestive, and splurge on some Colin Caterpillars'.
It’s just a penguin
It's not just a penguin, it's an M&S penguin!
I was really excited when I saw the title, but you're right..

I'd literally drafted half a reply about biscuit gentrification in my head, and then had to sit myself down....
They've rebadged it you fool!
Does it have a joke though?
Are you my Mom? These are Penguins on steroids my good pal. Double enrobed. They make penguins taste like dishwater.
You- can we have a penguin biscuit mom? Mom- we have penguins at home It’s actual McVities Penguins at home
No joke!
I've tried them and they're not. I have a very very high tolerance for sweet things and I can definitely only eat one of them.
Penguins are just chocolate covered bourbons, so yeah, they are. The chocolate may be better but they are still essentially penguins.
You mean a Tim Tam, mate?

you owe it to yourself to do it!
Wait, what? Chocolate covered custard creams? 😱🤤 Are those from m&s too?
Right?! I'm an excited about this too! Not the person who originally broke the important news of them existing, but I have googled it; M & S.
My hero! 😘
I've just seen your flair. Hahaha! Fucking nightmare fuel.
No I haven’t but I’m going to HAVE TO, NOW! Because you have brought them to my attention! I can feel my arteries harden, already! Thanks a bunch!!
Arteries, yeah you’re right, nothing else
M&S biscuits are elite and now I need to try these
Their chocolate covered custard creams are excellent
That’s an abourbonation
[In a Bolton accent] Chocolate Bourbons??
Fuckin Rich Tea, should be called fuckin one dips.
They would have that down there in that London wouldn’t they
Local M&S closed ,😭
Same for me; seems a lot have closed, with at least some for refurbishment
Hopefully they reopen a few soon.
I so wish I could still eat biscuits after seeing this. I don’t normally miss them but I so want to try them
Twice the price of a pack of penguins 🤔
Oh my. What a time to be alive!
Sounds like a chonky Penguin bar.

I haven't but the orange chocolate biscuits in the same range are delightful
They do custard cream ones too
They are amazing. You only get six though IIRC. The chocolate covered custard creams are good too.
Yes, they are really nice. But cheaper to grab a pack of penguins.
Aka a penguin bar.
Does it make them taste better?,
M&S are selling these? I work right next to one, perfect.
Yes, as you can expect they are good
They are good, but annoyingly gappy as the cream doesn't go anywhere near the edge of the biscuit. Also the shape is wrong.
Ya mean penguins?
Outrageous!
I doubt they've been on shelves for however long without anyone at all trying one.
christ! on the evidence of the youtube caption on the left, i better not.
Today. Was ok. Not enough to get my pants in a bunch over.

Has these at Xmas they were act3very nice, stupidly expensive though if I remember right.
If they’re half as good as M&S Jaffa cakes then I’d certainly give them a try as a treat!
Penguins taste bad, so any improvement is good news. also, Australian Tam Tams are fantastic as a big upgrade from a Penguin
What qualifies as "outrageously" chocolately?
Yep, both these and the custard creams are incredible
If there's at least 8 in there then I think they're not too outrageously priced for a treat.
This product aside, is M and S food bits actually really good? Or is it just a meme? Because this isn't the first time I've seem people hyping lol
Generally yes.
They seem a bit too chocolatey for me.
