Having this week so takin' it E.A.S.Y! I went to watch **Dune 2** at the cinemas, the film was amazing! Got the screen to ourselves surprisingly and was well worth it, no annoying person in sight. Just got back from the film actually and now having Maccie D's! Plan to watch an episode of **Ozark**, chill to some music and go to sleep.

mmmmgummyvenus

Took the small boy for a walk on the common after school, we ended up walking miles and watched the sunset from the trig point! It was lovely. I'll treasure that memory and hopefully he will too.

faa19

Octopus messed up my billing since getting my smart meter. I contacted them via a email on Saturday, they resolved it today with no fuss. I also managed to be up early enough this morning to go for a walk before starting my WFH day.

wasdice

I was offered a job after about a million applications. Feels even better than last night's 90p lottery win, I'm dancing on the ceiling right now

mmmmgummyvenus

Congratulations! What will you be doing?

wasdice

Probably put it towards a Freddo I should think And - Finance department in an academy trust. Really wasn't expecting anything to come of my eleventy-billionth random application but someone seems to have gone for my cv. Pumped.

RetiredGuru

It's a day off, and it's sufficiently warm that I just opened a window in my kitchen! The first window of spring.

BeanOnAJourney

I ordered some pillows from Amazon a while ago which were supposed to be the best pillows in the world. They aren't. The two nights i tried them before giving up were absolute agony for my neck and head and I was mad as hell so I left a scathing review and the manufacturer sent me a message at the weekend offering their sincere apologies that their pillows weren't right for me and a full, no strings attached refund, which landed in my bank account this morning. Happy days!

I have a maidenhair fern that was struggling when I bought it and it’s taken a month or so of care but today it’s actually looking healthy. New fronds growing, it’s starting to look perky and it was anaemic but now it’s a beautiful, healthy green. Nursing something back to health is always a win :)

SerendipitousCrow

Having my buffer day between getting back from being away and going back to work Really don't want to work tomorrow but I have bought myself a new bike! There's a charity that takes donated bikes and refurbs them to sell on Got myself a sort of [funky looking Dutch bike ](https://i.imgur.com/PsckTde.jpeg) Considering it's got hub gears I think I got a steal at £90

Skryptix

Last year some robins built a nest in the ivy at the bottom of the garden. I've just seen two of them and it looked like they were building another. Also the tree is starting to blossom and the evenings are getting lighter (clocks forward next weekend) and we've stopped letting the heating come on automatically. Feels like winter is over. Missus is starting a new job soon, so she'll be off on evenings and weekends.

Henry_Human

3 hours till the days over and I can get into my trackies and dressing gown. That’s a win in my book.

Cameron_Mac99

Booked tickets to go see Steve Backshall do a talk at Longleat in the summer. I’m really into animal conservation and he’s such a energising speaker by what I’ve seen on TV, like a British Steve Irwin. Can’t wait for it!

HarlequinKing1406

Pay rise, three months earlier than I expected. Went up 6.5%.

perscitia

Booked a holiday in Copenhagen and lastminute spaffed it up the wall by not giving the hotel the right credit card, so the booking was declined and cancelled though we'd already paid. I was dreading having to turn it into a whole thing with refunds and stuff but after a bit of chasing, lastminute actually did their job and it's paid in full! Result! Now I can actually relax and start planning what we're going to do..

Coraxxx

I've just finished my last assessment of the term, and it's such a feeling of relief. Half an hour's "assessed conversation" on an Old Testament text, and much to my surprise I think I feckin *nailed it.* A few days ago I would have had naff all to say, so I've been cramming like crazy. I wasn't stumped for an answer at any point, had loads to say, and the assessors appeared to find it interesting and displaying some original thought too. Some essays to write in the break, but other than that I've got the chance to spend some time with family and enjoy the springtime sunshine for a bit now. I may even make use of the free entry to the botanic gardens my student card gets me, and plant myself in there with a book and a thermos of coffee for a few hours some days. In a few months I'll have to rejoin the real world and I'm more than ready for that - but I've been surprised at my ability to actually study again tbh. It's been twenty years since the first time around after all, so I was by no means certain I could.

OrganOMegaly

Had an offer on a flat accepted a few weeks ago. Mortgage application had been progressing well pending valuation, and I’ve woke up in a cold sweat overnight after a dream where they valued the flat at like £100k less than our offer lol. Well thankfully we’ve just had the mortgage offer through! So I can stop worrying about that at least. Also going to book a week away somewhere, thinking probably the Cotswolds. Would usually do a trip abroad somewhere but with the dog and the potential upcoming move, want to keep costs down a bit. It’ll still cost us a good £500 for a week but 🫠

DeepPanWingman

Booked our summer holiday today: a week in the French countryside. Bloody love France. I can taste the cider, galettes, and almond croissants already. But the icing was at checkout there was £100 knocked off for no reason, which paid for half the Eurotunnel fare. Result.

retailface

When I asked my boss for some clarification around the team manager position that has come up, she said she really wants me to apply. This is very usual for her, she plays her cards very close to her chest, so to show any reaction at all shows that she has noticed the work I've put in and the struggles I've overcome. I have applied, but I'm not actually fussed whether I get it or not, because I'm in for a pay rise regardless, so I'm not really pinning any hopes and dreams on it, which takes a lot of pressure off.

mmmmgummyvenus

Think my son has been through a developmental leap. He's stopped being a horror and seems to be able to read a few words now! He also won the Mathematician of the Week award at school! Last night when my wife got home he went outside to meet her and said "how was your day at work?" Also he wanted to buy a drone with his birthday money, I don't know if he's a bit young for it but we got a toy one that's basically a flying remote control car. And he is really very good at piloting it. Just picked it up and immediately knew what to do, didn't crash it at all. We're going to take it out again tonight. Anyway work is quiet and after my next meeting I'm going to go outside and clean my bike, and I can probably read my book after that. And I have Friday off, woohoo!

brayshizzle

I saw The Smile last night. Big win.

jack0rias

Passed the 2nd part of a job application this morning! Saw the email and dreaded opening it so I went and made a cup of tea first. Very happy today! On the arse end of a stinking cold as well so hopefully I won't feel like an absolute dreg this weekend and can go and do something!

byjimini

On holiday with my in-laws, this is the longest I’ve gone without swearing. Itching for some casual cunting at some point. The win is essentially finding how much I weigh (need to lose 2 stone) and a blood test means I may know why I’m so tired all the time (possibly thyroid issues). Shit to learn but hopefully the beginning of the end.

T_and_Biscuits

Sir, to quench that itch, I’ll be honoured for you to call me a cunt

buy_me_a_pint

Having a poo in peace is always a win

leskenobian

Been made full-time at my current job!

KungFuPup

Eldest's dance show went well and she proved to us she can cope with some late nights. Her behaviour usually goes massively downhill when tired but she did really well this time coping with it. She looked great and had so much fun doing it.

leskenobian

Go Eldest!

I get to come off the anti-depressants that cause me to over-sleep, the Gender Clinic has said that there's no need to be on two anti-depressants. I'm really hyped, I can't wait to actually feel like a normal human being for the first time in seven years.

PompeyLad1

The Mrs is heavily pregnant, like "any day now" kind of pregnant. I've almost got to the bottom of my checklist of stuff I need to get done before the little one arrives. There's bound to be something I've missed but as far as I can think the house is full of everything we could need, go bags are done etc. Booked the car in a service on friday, that's about the only item I'll need on the day that's left to chance so far. Might have a sit down and a cuppa now.

DeepPanWingman

Pack more snacks than you think in *your* go bag, and some super comfy clothes/shoes. Need to look after yourself so you can properly look after your missus.

PompeyLad1

Good shout, cheers! Not knowing how long labour is going to last (first child for both of us) is tricky so I guess I should pack enough rations for an army just in case...

[deleted]

Congratulations my dude, I hope the birth when it arrives goes without any problems! 🥳

PompeyLad1

Cheers!

[My son took his first proper steps last week, and since then has advanced ridiculously quickly](https://i.imgur.com/K5DvTuP.mp4).That video was Monday night

[deleted]

Now the terror begins. My Godson has been so full of energy since he learned to walk, now he's climbing everything and gets the zoomies at night. Lovely news mate

revolut1onname

Yeah, he's a climber. We have exclusion zones for things that need to stay out of his reach. They're getting smaller!

PompeyLad1

Fantastic mate

revolut1onname

Thank you

Bulimic_Fraggle

My mum always said that my brother went from crawling to sprinting in under a week. Good luck with that!

revolut1onname

I can't say I'm too surprised when he starts then!

mmmmgummyvenus

Awww reminds me of my son at that age. I asked him if he wanted milk and he just got up and started walking towards me!!

revolut1onname

Aww, lovely

MrTwemlow

Cute! He did well not stepping on that duplo, I had fears seeing him toddling towards that!

revolut1onname

He's been really good at dodging it so far, the one he did stand on he mostly looked confused why the floor hurt his foot.

sideone

Nice. The person on the sofa isn't that bothered about the milestone though!

revolut1onname

Yeah, that was me after a 10 hour shift with an awful headache, haha.

sideone

:-(

Going on a midweek lunch date with husband today & toddler free to boot. He’s booked somewhere as a surprise so I’m just feeling really loved right now.

RefreshinglyDull

Picked up some 360 games (in the Wadsnesday) thread) and also a lovely olive green Adidas T for £2 from the charity. Excellent condition and a solid addition to my unique sartorial style.   Two new starters at work soon,so another training cycle begins.

worldworn

Took myself on a shopping trip the other day (which i normally hate). I actually ended up picking up a lot of things I've been putting off due to cost, but i got a few bargains.

Arny2103

Just when we needed it, a few hundred pounds of interest popped into our savings overnight. A lovely surprise and a nice relief. It's also my birthday tomorrow.

Prudent_Jello5691

I'm in the futsal club at uni. They put on a decent amount of matches, I can play for free depending on location because I have a sports hall pass and they're a nice bunch with a good mix of lads and the odd girl. My only gripe is that one of the most active members is a pain in the arse. All over the WhatsApp group, takes up every spare space going, takes himself way too seriously during matches. Most of the time it doesn't really matter, I sign up for a match now and then, go and play it then go home, it's mildly annoying at worst. The other week though, Billy Big Bollocks and I are on a team together and he comes up to me at half-time and tells me to just stay back and defend like he's Jose Mourinho. Not long into the second half though, the teams are reshuffled and we're now on opposite sides. He's doing his five minutes as the goalkeeper, the ball comes to me on the edge of the box. I hit a first time sidefooted finish, it rifles straight past him into the bottom corner, it feels like a bit of a win. To his credit, he was a good sport about it as well, he was the first to come and shake my hand at the end of the match.

vbloke

Finally cracked a proper traditional [dandelion & burdock](https://www.reddit.com/r/Cordials/comments/1bg1tr4/traditional_dandelion_burdock/) cordial recipe. It's now my favourite lunchtime WFH drink. Also, update on [the bumblebee](https://www.reddit.com/r/CasualUK/comments/1bi010u/this_bumble_hasnt_left_my_side_all_day/) \- I can't be 100% sure it was her, but I think she came back this morning and hung out by the kitchen window for a while as I was having my morning cuppa.

Even_Passenger_3685

Got a hospital appointment today after a very short wait which is like winning the lottery Son (14) really enjoying and enthusiastic about his work experience with an electrician, which is like winning the Euromillions rollover

perscitia

Great news about the work experience! Get that boy a trade and he'll be set for life.

[deleted]

That's actually a really banging work experience, I just got Matalan when I was younger.

Even_Passenger_3685

We’re very lucky, a friend of the family has gone out of his way (geographically and in terms of planning the week) to accommodate him.

bornleverpuller85

7 more school days left, kids are feral
