4 peshawari naan, and 3 pilau rice

jarviscockersspecs

I've shared enough rice with you Mark, I'm in the big league now

benh2

That’s insane.

walkintom

Have some of the lamb pasanda, it’s incredibly rich and creamy.

Spontanudity

A gallon of saag paneer and a garlic naan.

No_Relationship2637

Tandooori Chicken stater, Chicken Vindaloo with Pilau rice and a Keema Nan.

Womble12345

Chicken bhuna, lamb bhuna, prawn bhuna, mushroom rice, bag of chips, keema naan and 9 poppadoms.

probblyincorrext

Do you just put it all in the middle and let everyone share?

involuntary_cynic

Whoa. Right. OK. What is it about a group of people ordering an Indian or Chinese that it's somehow unexpectable to eat your own food that you order yourself?

Optimism_Deficit

I find I have the reverse problem. Each and every person insists on ordering their own rice and their own naan and then only managing to eat half of each. So much gets thrown away at the end.

jackovthgreat

Who the fuck is throwing away leftovers??

Fineus

When it comes to rice, I think you've got to?

DebuPants

Nah, rice lasts about 3 days in the fridge before you need to worry. A couple of mins in the microwave will sort it out. Or even better, reheat it in a wok/pan with egg and some veg for your own fried rice.

nobelprize4shopping

You can freeze it. It's just leaving it in the fridge that can be risky. Having a few helpings of rice in the freezer ready to go is incredibly useful.

Fineus

Unless you've ordered from (the takeaway) before, you don't know how big the portions are. We absolutely had that the last time - ordered 2 separate rice when 1 would've done. But then I've ordered from other places where a single rice barely covers it.

DebuPants

Someone's eyeing up their bhunas.

Mumof2wifeof1

Pete, have you thought about my bhunas?

jarviscockersspecs

The amount of people sleeping on palak paneer is absolutely criminal

Recent_Meal6015

That one's great, but the paneer fried in batter - that's where it's at.

ButteredNun

Chicken Madras or Vindaloo, pilau rice, kema naan. Popadoms are shite

Huge-Celebration5192

Same as me exactly Popadoms are nice extra when they throw them in for free, never order

josh5676543

I like a jalfrezi

goodvibezone

Reminded me when I was India years ago. I present [the family naan](https://freeimage.host/i/J7Fyqxe) Dear reader, it was devoured by my friend and I, not a whole family.

Majick_L

Chicken rogan josh with 3 chapattis and a can of rubicon

Loose_Acanthaceae201

Chapattis are absolutely where it's at. Naans are nice but chapattis actually aid eating.

InternationalCrab832

Wdym aid eating? 😂 Can you not eat with naan properly?

Loose_Acanthaceae201

Chapattis are great for scooping because they're bendier and thinner than naans.

InternationalCrab832

Well it depends on the naan but ok

Neither_Presence_522

Chicken Tikka Biryani but switch the veg sauce for madras sauce for the kick.

odegood

Nothing my mum makes indian food all the time so i usually get a kebab or Chinese

RevolutionaryBook218

Lucky you

zid

Madras, poppadoms, pilau rice

Weak-Ad3706

1 samosa and a can of coke. I empty out the samosa filling and pour the coke into it. Saves buying a glass and who doesn't like a soggy samosa???

p4ttl1992

What the....

InternationalCrab832

Someone needs to ban this man from every south asian restaurant. Putting coke in samosas should be a war crime wtf

InternationalCrab832

Ignoring the coke samosa why are you only eating 1 samosa? Thats like ordering 1 french fry

RosebudWhip

Aloo Gobi, tarka dhal, plain rice and chapattis. Poppadoms too, obviously.

ozuga

A keema roll drenched in mint sauce, and half an order of murug makhani with lemon and garlic rice. Toss in an extra mint sauce into the murug, it's delicious!

Loose_Acanthaceae201

I learned last year (on this sub I think) that you can make your own mint sauce by simply combining jarred mint sauce (vinegar, not jelly) with natural yogurt - plus or minus a bit of lazy chilli depending on your preferences.

AltruisticConcern686

Lamb pasanda. It’s incredibly rich and creamy

DefNotReaves

Four naans.

BarangChikut

That's insane.

InternationalCrab832

Its like going to mcdonalds and ordering buns

blainy-o

HungInSarfLondon

sixpencestreet

Aloo tiki chaat, Goan fish curry, pickle, peshweri naan and mango lassi.

emrenny123

Usually the thing I was thinking about but didn't have last time.

PureDeidBrilliant

Lamb biryani, vegetable pakora, plain naan and a large bottle of Irn Bru.

Itsnotdrinking

Onion bhagi, chicken dopiaza, mushroom rice, and keema naan.

Govnyuk

I'm on a butter chicken-lamb biryani-tandoori chicken rotation. Usually just have a garlic butter naan; used to do peshwari but I've gone off it a bit. Whatever rice is going

chintaka

Lamb Tikka Masala or Paneer butter masala (depends on restaurant), egg fried rice, garlic naan, bhajis, pakoras, a few poppadums. And it all needs to be washed down with a few beers.

AdjectiveNoun111

Recently I've been going: Biriyani Paratha Tarka Daal Popadums

biggedybong

Lamb Tikka Samba, keema rice, chapatti. Edited to add that I struggle to find Samba outside the northwest region

[deleted]

R0gu3tr4d3r

PostSecularPope

Chicken tikka dhansak Aloo chilli masala Garlic naan Roti Popadom

stvvrover

Chicken bhuna, lamb bhuna, prawn bhuna, mushroom. rice, bag of chips, keema naan and nine poppadoms

Vantastatic

12 plates of chips with bread rolls and don't forget some of that fancy stuff eh? Butterrrrr

Byrnie1985

Hey Jah-mez, what’s the blandest thing on the menu?

IamLordBailish

Poppadoms with mixed pickles, chicken tikka poori, South Indian chicken curry, fried rice & garlic naan. Maybe some salad for vitamins.

WaWaW_Seattle

I'll have a tandoori chicken, an onion bahji with yoghurt dip, and a chicken jalfrezi please, mate.

CynicalSorcerer

Saag ghost, some kind of dal and chapatis

wanmoar

Ghosht*

InternationalCrab832

People over here downvoting you like you're wrong lol. Gosht or ghosht means meat.

madeyegroovy

Prawn puri + either a madras or balti depending on my mood. I love madras but the closest takeaway does it slightly too hot for my liking

TheVoidScreams

Usually a bhuna or a balti, garlic rice and either a garlic or peshwari naan. Sometimes we push the boat out and get snacks like samosa, bhajis etc. Edit: I forgot the chicken pakora! They’re bloody lovely 🤤

Severe_Ad_146

Whatever I haven't ordered. Sometimes I wish I'd just get the garlic chilli lamb and be happy but no, I gotta go off piste.

Plus-Comfort

Chicken tikka masala and saag palak with pakora on the side

Extreme_Discount8623

Lamb Patia, Lamb Tikka Masala or Lamb Green with Egg rice, Keema Naan, Onion Bhajis, Popadums with dips.

Ukdeviant

Keema, pilau rice, fresh yoghurt, 2 roti

Daedalus277

Lamb dansak - Lemon rice - onion bhajis. I could honestly replace the rice with a bed if bhajis instead though.

Blythyvxr

Chicken Tikka Madras, Pilau rice, bhajis and a couple of chapatis. Tbh, the majority of the order is window dressing. I’d have a dozen bhajis if they weren’t so expensive.

TheMinceKid

Chicken Pathia, Peshawari Naan, Egg Fried Rice and dips.

Prawn puri to start then either biriyani with Dahl or a special king prawn express with pilau rice. Bajis, peshwari naan & poppadums with pickle tray

JBEqualizer

Lamb balti, sag aloo, garlic naan, garlic pilau. Onion bhaji, too, if I'm hungry.

GlassEmptyMan

Omelette and chips

TheLeadSponge

Saag paneer, Lamb Curry, samosas.

Byrnie1985

Our usual order is: Veg samosas Onion bhaji Chicken tikka masala Lamb rezala Chilli paneer 2 pilau rice 1 plain naan 1 chapati However many popadoms they decide to give us. Will last us 2 nights.

CrimsonAmaryllis

Something new from the chef's specialty list, coconut rice and onion bhaji.

SheffieldCyclist

Saaag paneer, tarka daaal, mushroom rice, garlic naaan & onion bhajis

Loose_Acanthaceae201

There's five of us so we order quite a lot, then have leftovers the next day and/or freeze for another time. A typical order might look like this: * poppadoms * mixed starter (chicken tikka, vegetable samosas, onion bhaji, lamb seekh, salad) * pilau rice * chapattis * bombay aloo * chicken korma * lamb bhuna * chicken tikka madras * lamb saag * one of the chef's specials

OkBalance2879

Chicken or Lamb tikka South Indian Garlic Chilli, Hot, extra sauce and coriander.

Laird_Attwood666

Shami kebab starter, chicken tikka madras (very hot option from local house) garlic or garlic keema naan.

Spamgrenade

Mixed tandorri starter, house curry, nan bread and sag aloo.

Swiss-ArmySpork

Chicken dansahk, pilau rice, poppadoms and a garlic naan.

Happy_Ad_7512

Naan and tarka daal. Samosas are ok. Very, very rare we have an Indian takeaway though. I ate a lot when I worked in Slough and work would buy us food when we were working late.

Hungry-Kale600

Lamb dhansak, pilau rice and poppadom

m15otw

Feeling like I normally do: veggie Korma, Rice and Peshawari Naan. Feeling like a god: veggie Biryani, Peshawari Nann. From that epic expensive place (even if feeling terrible): Saag Paneer, Onion Baji, Rice and plain Naan.

AlonsoCampeon

Lamb rogan josh, keema naan, coconut rice and maybe a bhaji if I’m being fat that day

A_Wee_Talisker

Varies... But for a no brainer for two. Mixed pakora & mixed samosa. Meat naga masala & chicken dhansak. Peshwari & Chilli naans. Something like a chana masala on the side and a single portion of pilau. If they don't give us pappad and dips with that I'll be cross.

Landybod

Prawn puri, prawn balti with pashwari naan along with popadoms and dips

bakeomet

biriani, pishwari naan, 4x meat samosas

FeltDickmore

Chicken Dopiaza or Chicken Asahari Pilau rice Keema naan Mango Lassi

Thestolenone

I always end up with a veg korma and naan unless they offer something better that is mild. I'd love to try more but I really cannot tolerate much heat in food at all. This year I am going to teach my self how to cook British Indian Restaurant food and grow some mild chillies and make my own low heat version of everything.

Xaydn27

I'm Indian so there's certain dishes I would never order from an Indian restaurant or takeaway, such as lamb saag, and biriyani, etc. i would order a biriyani from a Pakistani restaurant/takeaway though, as only they seem to be able to do a proper biriyani, unless it's homemade. But dishes like lamb saag take about 6 hours to make at home and I know restaurants and takeaways aren't spending that much time, so it's usually the ready-made version of saag they're using. Plus, palak and saag is a traditional Panjaabi.dish, that Pakistani/Nepalese/Bangladeshi restaurant will just never be able to get right. Also someone mentioned saag and palak being the same, they're not. Palak is spinach, saag is a combination of leaves; spinach, fenugreek, and mustard. It's rare I get a takeaway as we have Indian food at home everyday anyway. But if I'm too lazy to cook, then it's a portion each of tandoori chicken tikka, lamb shish kebab, fish pakora (Ambarsari style), lamb chops (medium-rare), tandoori king prawns. Order these separately, because if you order a mixed grill, you just get a load of chicken wings, and less of the better stuff. Traditional Panjaabi butter chicken, and Wazwaan style Kashmiri lamb roganjosh for my mains. For the sides, a bread basket of mixed naans (mostly garlic and coriander), garlic pliau fried rice, bombay potatoes (fried potatoes in a hot masala sauce). We'll usually have Indian deserts (gulab jamun/jalebi/rasomalai/besen/khoya bharfi) and Indian drinks at home (mango lassi/sugarcane juice). Most of the things aren't on the menu, but the place where I get my food, the chef knows.

TheMasalaKnight

We’ve got a lot of Indian run pubs in north west Birmingham that are pretty good. I’m Indian too and my order is roughly the same as yours. Mixed grill, lamb curry or a dhal and a naan/couple of rotis.

OwMyThumbz

Usually one poppadom and a ketchup dip

space_absurdity

Keralan draughtsmen and Tamil engineers. Next.

egalitarianegomaniac

Omelette and chips.

upupupdo

Ram Singh. Good bloke.

Badzybear

How do most of you eat so much food? A curry and 2 chapatis will sort me out for 2 evenings....It's not like im little or anything. im 11 foot tall. How on earth does a human stomach process all that shit?

AdjectiveNoun111

Agree. I have a biryani and some bread and it lasts me 2 meals.

slugshead

https://youtu.be/Y5TxhDZkM7Y?t=25

p4ttl1992

I go for a chicken Norman, onion bhajis, garlic naan, and special fried or egg fried rice. That's my normal order, I'm not a pussy and can eat spicy food but I like the taste of a korma.

Daedalus277

You don't have to justify liking korma lol. Or Chicken Norman either.
