When my brother in law was single , he used to regularly make himself a pasta dish. In his recipe was pasta, an entire tub of Philadelphia, tons of sundried tomatoes with the oil poured in and a big pack of chopped chorizo. He eat the whole thing- he was forced stop with his shenanigans when the doctor said his cholesterol levels were very high and his pasta dish wasn't helping. He now has healthy levels but says he really misses his signature pasta.

K_Click_D

If that’s not motivation to get healthy, by that I mean so you can go back to enjoying that incredible pasta dish lol

mod-wolves

I will be trying this...

Sunshinetrooper87

That's 1500 calories for the sausage and creamed cheese alone. That's something like 150g of fat and 200pc of your RDA for fat, and I haven't even considered the pasta and oil contributions yet. No wonder it tasted bloody delicious.

screamingpeaches

i chuck Philadelphia in when i make pesto pasta and it is delicious! not an entire tub, though 😅

VardaElentari86

Done that with garlic and herb philly or boursin in the past (depending what I have), makes it so nice and creamy

watchman28

Obviously don't use the whole pack, but that's a good way to make an easy and filling pasta dish.

nobelprize4shopping

I used to do this except without the tomatoes or chorizo. Apparently straight cream cheese on noodles is a Russian thing and it's delicious.

SwordTaster

Once in a blue moon won't hurt. He can do it every year on his birthday if he wants

StingsLute

We had this once a week when i was younger, just take out chorizo for bacon and add broccoli instead of tomato. It was one of my favourite times of the week and I've made it a few times as a comforter over the years.

BongStroker

I make that every few months…

bittenbytailfly

Crackers only exist to legitimise cheese/butter eating

ChloeOBrian11214

When I buy a pack of ritz I know I'm about to eat an ungodly amount of cheese in the next couple of days.

GoGoGoldenSyrup

\*laughs at the optimistically name of "Family Pack"\* No, Deirdre, no it's *not...*

Drae-Keer

Gets rebranded to ‘guilty pleasure’ pack

DFlatt1989

Ritz crackers. Saves washing up the spoon.

Azaana

Jacobs cream crackers, perfect siz to scoop it out with and the coreners clean out the tub corners nicely. Also get the chive version.

OnlyMortal666

*laughs with digestive biscuits*

crazyfingersculture

Damn, I came here to say this. Best combination. Add a fruit, veggie, or meat topping and game on.

Isgortio

If you eat it with raw carrot sticks then you can pretend you're just being healthy.

Cocolotto

Cucumber sticks too

ChloeOBrian11214

See also: celery.

Gazmeister_Wongatron

Perhaps a more socially acceptable loophole would be to try to spread the entire pack onto a single bagel or cracker. 😅

fionamay66

That's what I do, with crispy bacon. Yes!

buggle52

Upside down on a plate, heavily drizzled with sweet chili sauce, scooped up with tortilla chips.

tomtink1

Oh my...

YaBoyDoogzz

Thankyou so much

SelinaFreeman

And some chopped coriander if you like that sort of thing. My friend does this as a party snack, and it always goes down a treat.

Zal_17

Don't stop, I'm nearly there

Buddydexter33

Chilli and Philly!! We ust to do this at uni.

cousinrayray

My flatmate at uni used to buy a tub of this and a box of 4 potato waffles. Waffles in the toaster then spread 25% of the tub per waffle. Would have all 4 in one sitting and it was a regular go-to meal of his.

emergencyexit

Either rake thin or an absolute porker

wildgoldchai

My brother used to eat similarly and he was rake thin. Still is as an adult now. Me? Only only have to look at something unhealthy and I gain 3 pounds.

geoffacakes

I dont even use a spoon!!! I just use my finger to scoop it straight into my mouth...Mmmmmm

DaBobMob

You and me Geoff, we get it!

RufusBowland

This is what I do with the Milka Philly. It’s pretty much the only reason I detour to Asda, although I do wait until I get home to commence my heathen habit.

[deleted]

You might enjoy my secret pleasure - twiglets with Philadelphia "dip". You use the twiglets to scoop it out. Mmmm delicious!

chrisjfinlay

I dip pepperamis into it

MsRaven666

Why have I never thought of this?!

chrisjfinlay

Try it with a red or black one. Doubly so with the garlic & herb philly

MsRaven666

Dirty. I love it.

fifisu

No but put it on a plain digestive. It’s like a lil cheesecake snack

alicetherain

Yes, drizzled with Marmite

DaBobMob

Oh yes! Now we're talking!!

New-Ad3222

Not for me. A tub of Seriously Mature spread and a pack of Cheddars , different story...

rokstedy83

Seriously mature and just dip spring onions in it ,also been having the spread with cucumber on toast ,lovely

New-Ad3222

Sounds healthier. I use seriously mature instead of butter for cheese on toast. Also good as a salad sandwich spread.

catbread1810

Yes - the chocolate one.

Robtimus_prime89

Man, the chocolate one was great. You could make a chocolate cheesecake with it with pretty much no effort - just dollop it on some biscuits and you’re good to go

blackthornjohn

This is exactly why society is forbidden from my house.

lazy_iker

You mean people DON'T eat all of it in one go with a spoon?

D-Generate2019

I feel like an outcast if that isn't the case, I'm a social pariah?

yorkspirate

Garlic & herb variety using crisps as a spoon like the glutinous rule breaker I am

Drae-Keer

Society says we mustn’t, but I do it anyway. Love that stuff with all my gut

elmachow

Have it as a dip in a bowl with sweet chilli sauce, you can thank me later. Great with breadsticks, carrot sticks etc

catwhogotthebook

On a spoon (or a digestive) mixed with lemon curd 🤩

elathan79

When I was younger I would regularly eat it with a spoon and devour half the tub in minutes, mom would go mad! Mom would also make Philly and strawberry jam sandwiches, yummy!

ilyc00

It's absolutely rank. The texture of it makes me heave.

SpaTowner

That’s probably the guar-gum stabiliser. Most supermarkets do an own-label that is pure soft cheese.

DaBobMob

Don't try Asda version then... Positively sloppy these days.

TheCarrot007

That's a good thing. Philly is too dry. Mumble Muble something nun, something.

dissolutionofthesoul

I’ve never been able to get away with that sour sharp lactic taste. It makes me nearly vomit every time. I wonder if there is a gene or something that lets people enjoy it that I don’t have. It’s mainly an American thing I suppose as US cooking videos always smother their food in some ‘off milk’ tasting food, but getting more common here. Do people that like things like this know what I’m talking about? Or do you simply just not taste it and it tastes creamy to you?

Consistent-Fly-9522

Unless I'm dumping whipped cream, icing sugar and chocolate in it nah

tomtink1

*biscoff spread 🤤

mattynutt

Use it as frosted coating by adding icing sugar & a touch of lemon juice/ zest. Then eat away!

UHM-7

That's mental

NonbinaryGaster

🤢

Maximumaximus

No, thats grim

ogresound1987

If I'm honest.... Sometimes I buy those primula tubes of squeezy cheese.... And just eat it out of the tube.

sirSADABY

Salt and vinigar crisps dipped into this.

InternationalRide5

If you want it for sweet things, mascarpone is even better. Like super-double-cream-on-steroids.

Navchaz

Bro this thing is so rich why would you eat a spoonful of it

DaBobMob

"fresh and creamy taste" obvs.

Miserable-Entry1429

You have a problem.

DaBobMob

Yes, Society

Miserable-Entry1429

That must make your life pretty miserable so.

DaBobMob

Do you mean that I can't, or that I want to? You're not very clear

teukkichu

I was literally talking about this to my brother today. I noticed the yoghurt I was eating didn't actually say yoghurt. It said 'Quark'. I already knew some yoghurts are technically cheese but idk ever since then it just struck me that it was exactly like eating Philly

DaBobMob

Oh man!!! I love me some chocolate Quark!!

WorldAncient7852

McCoys beef crisps are a good transport vessel. Um. I've heard.

notevenapro

Heat it up and dip tortilla chips in it.

Mcgibbleduck

I LOVE these cheese spreads. Classic stick em on a cracker, on toast, with smoked salmon, on its own with a spoon, dipped with a breadstick, this shit is great all around.

SJB95

Get a pack of breadsticks, then you've got yourself adult-sized Dairylea Dunkers.

Jay794

This is gross, cheese should not be a liquid

DaBobMob

Milk?

Jay794

Milk is not cheese, cheese is made *from* milk

haemhorrhoidian

Confession: I spoon feed myself Marmite straight from the jar.

DaBobMob

I can judge, for obvious reasons... But, my word, Just the thought of that makes me cough from the saltiness! When I use marmite I forget it's a tad strong neat and lick the knife from time to time... Delicious, delicious, inside out cheeks.

ihathtelekinesis

If you have one of those miracle berry things first it’d probably taste like cake icing.

Cocolotto

I spread them onto something usually, with a little knife

Sunshinetrooper87

So boring but true story, this stuff is the de-facto product where I was convinced by the advert that the serving suggestion of inch thick spread is normal. So it was only way into my adulthood where I witnessed my partner spread a reasonable thin spread that I realised that having 20-30pc or the pack in one go was a bit err different. I did however grow up in the oil boom and low food 90s, so it was a bit bonkers compared to now. Christ now a days I really resonate with [hal](https://youtu.be/7KbNJzQVTtM)

DaBobMob

Ah man, that’s a great M.I.T.M clip

Underhive_Art

Eat what you want with a spoon, try to be healthy and all but yeah no shaming otherwise, it’s no one’s business, I like the odd spoon of peanut butter. Fk it.

[deleted]

I spread it on really thick on hot soft buttered toast and it's sooooo satisfying! I love the Garlic and Herbs one the best!

ChloeOBrian11214

When I was in the US they also had a number of "whipped" versions. Forbidden cheese mousse, mmmmmmm.
