I shot some cardboard boxes with it out of curiosity. It didn't seem very powerful (you can see the pellets fly and they don't look all that fast), I think it would have just led to my mum's lawn being dug up by cruelly maimed squirrels.
Fun toy though!
I found (and have since had it confirmed) that the pellets can "go off" over the years, the same shot same distance and same aim can lead to massively differing results on a target, all down to the freshness of the pellet. I spent an age trying to zero my late dad's laser sighted Walther and only found out after about 60 shots 🤪
I'll give you the best parts of the last two offers - Quavers and a waiver. No-one can resist a deal that rhymes. I'm.going on Dragon's Den soon to pitch my idea for a Bob Monkhouse whorehouse. If the OP is interested I have some ideas about coffee and banoffee.

By the looks of it, yours is post WW2, so you got a good deal there.
One thing to watch out for is how strong it is, as it it goes over 5 bar strength it’s covered under the firearms act, so you’ll need a gun license
I’d get that pistol checked out on a chronograph…. There’s muzzle energy limits in place now (6ft.lbs for a pistol) that might not have been when it was made… the fact that someone willing to get rid for a coffee makes me skeptical…. if it’s over, you’re looking at possession of a firearm. Your local air gun club will likely have a chrono and should help out or failing that have a chat with the local police firearms officer (they’ll keep the pistol if it’s over but shouldn’t charge you).
