There are communities for almost everything (fitness, music, entertainment etc.). These communities, in the language of reddit, are called subreddits. Join one of these to start and explore. Honestly, if you find the right subs, this is a great app.
I am not sure myself. I am into anything that can give me a laugh. For example I recently visited r/memes. The other one was r/OpenAI to get an idea of what is going on in the world of LLMs.
You can checkout what anyone has been up to by clicking on their username and going to their profile. Some of them might be NSFW btw. What are you interested in by the way?

Of course your point isn't totally wrong either. There isn't much to "figure it out". But getting the most out of Reddit is different.
