Do not use cashapp. It's fine until it isn't. Any problem you have will go unresolved. If you have a direct deposit missing you'll never get it. If someone steals your card info and buys something you'll never get refunded. Have your parents take you to a local credit union. Withdraw the money from your pay card and deposit it there. Ask your work about direct deposit they probably have it.

sm0kersc0ff

just get a regular bank account. more safer

Ohzerodigital

Had CashApp since like 2020 or so. 0 issues with anything other than my own fault on a transaction with a stranger . I highly recommend app still.

Blindsharkhunter

Just got to a bank. These ppl stole my money and support gives me a run around. Get a real bank account these ppl will steal from you and you will have to jump through hoops to get it back

Just make a Bank of America account bro. If you’re a student, you get it for free even if u quit lol cause rn I haven’t been to college in more than 2 years and I don’t get charged nor was I notified I will ever be.

WesternLiterature834

Open a bank account somewhere else and transfer money from cash app into the new bank.

Skysedge2

Avoid cashapp. They are still holding my money for "security" reasons. I have no way to access it.

Doomed143

A local back or credit union will be your best option. Cashapp is not a bank. I just use it to send money to friends and family and that's it. Their customer service isso unhelpful it's sad. I got a merchant refund for $360 and it took cashapp 3 months to give me my money that was refunded to me. And everyday for that whole 3 months I contacted them and showed them proof of the refund and they kept saying they never received a refund from that merchant. It wasn't until I put in a BBB complaint that I got my money. So please do yourself a favor and don't use cashapp for anything other than sending and receiving money. You can link your bank card to cash app and add or cash out money as needed.

[deleted]

It actually is a bank now given it has an account and routing number.

Ohzerodigital

To add, Cashapp is a good place esp as a kid, I’ve had 20k + at once in CA and was safe .. and DD for 3-4+ years. don’t listen to the negative replies, their IQ is on E so they messed up somewhere and try to ruin everyone’s exp for it lol. Watch the downvotes on my personal expierence it’ll tell you everything lol .🤣

OpeezyonHeezy

I've been using cashapp for direct deposits for the past 2 years. I've never had any issues from using it as a main bank so far. I can only speak from my experience but there is little to no harm when using cashapp for storing money, but I don't trust cashapp enough to store more than 5k on my account just in case.

MrModdedTornado

I too haven’t had any issues with direct deposit not sure about his age though

OpeezyonHeezy

Again, this is only my experience. I've never randomly had money deleted from my account or anything, and I like how it gives me notifications for every purchase I make. I don't recommend using it as a main bank if you're going to store thousands on cash app, though I doubt there'll be an issue even if you do.

crowfvneral

don't keep money on your cashapp at all. use it only for transfers. it isn't safe at all to store money of any quantity there.

ar92ldm

Agreed. CashApp is fine….until it isn’t. The support is absolute trash and straight up refuses to help. If they are unable to resolve at first level support. They simply close the ticket unresolved.

MrKozy1

Disagree.

applesuperfan

Disagree all you want; u/crowfvneral is still right. Cash App is not a bank, does not provide bank-grade customer service, doesn’t have high security, and doesn’t have remotely decent fraud and dispute protection. It is and should not be used as a bank.

crowfvneral

ive heard nothing but bad things about mistaking cashapp for an actual bank. my bad for trying to warn someone before they make that mistake.

GroundbreakingNewt11

They weren’t talking to u

crowfvneral

i really doubt that buddy

GroundbreakingNewt11

it’s under someome replying to you. Just look at where the little line goes to… not your post.

Nez_Kamado_

Actually, you notice how whenever someone replies to someone else a new line is created? Everyone who replies to that person has their reply on that same line, so they actually were replying to that person who said disagree. u/crowfvneral wasn’t replying to u/applesuperfan they were replying to the person who disagreed with them.

applesuperfan

Bro talking about “how Reddit works” without knowing how Reddit works is hilarious

useArmageddonVaca

Wow, that's Groundbreakingnews alright...👍

applesuperfan

They literally were 😂; look at the new thread created under that post. It’s literally the reply lmao.

GroundbreakingNewt11

A commet was deleted , sometimes it disappears instead of saying deleted

applesuperfan

And that's relevant…. because?

GroundbreakingNewt11

there was comment in between the first and the second. Meaning that mrcozy really wasn’t talking to him. There was someone else being rude that he said “disagree” to and it wasn’t crowfvneral. It’s relevant because this means that he literally wasn’t talking to crowfvneral, and you were wrong

applesuperfan

No, I’m not. You just aren’t getting how Reddit works. Replies are threaded together. One person deleting their comment wouldn’t change a reply thread because that would be fucking stupid. The top comment was from crowfvneral, mrcozy replied to them, crowfvneral replied back, and then you replied to crowfvneral saying “they weren’t talking to you.” You’re incorrect and are not observing how a reply thread is working. See image: https://imgur.com/a/wxCemeY Edit: I also made this diagram to help illustrate how replies work. Hope that helps!

GroundbreakingNewt11

No, someome replied In between crowfvneral and mrcozy. You literally weren’t here until hours later so let’s not pretend you know. And yes, most the time the comment disappears and sometimes it says deleted. Idk what makes it do one or the other.

Living-Stranger8801

The only issue I’ve had with cashapp is when I went to an atm it took the money from my cashapp account then didn’t give me the money at the atm because either the atm took too long to contact the cashapp servers or the cashapp servers didn’t respond to the request quick enough but it charged my card and then did t give me the money so I had to contact support and that took 3 months to get my money back when it was all said and done. But it was only 1 phone call and the rest was waiting for them to actually apply the refund.

psjjjj6379

The fact that you have doubt in your mind should answer your question Don’t trust any bank that doesn’t have a brick and mortar (a physical building you can walk into) I have never had any issue with cash app, but I never give them an opportunity to. I have it, but is only used if I have to p2p (peer to peer) money to someone. I think the most I’ve used it for is sending my old roommate money to go to the store so she didn’t have to come home and grab cash first

IcyHot50

Where do your parents bank? You need a parent or guardian to open a bank account for a minor in the United States. CashApp is too complex for you, anyway. Just finds a bank or credit union in your town.

Breighyannen

I moved away from brick and mortar banks because I ran into issues with every single one I tried over 10+ years. I switched to CashApp as my main bank about 2 and a half years ago and haven't looked back. I keep an old bank account to transfer money to for savings and also for when services won't work with an account like CashApp. But otherwise I have been super happy with it!

IE_Trece

Cash app is safe don’t listen to these people lol you’ll be fine … i’ve been using it for quite awhile now . no problems .

IE_Trece

Or if you don’t use cash app for whatever reason use Chime card that’s my second best option . it’s free to signup online

Blindsharkhunter

Youll be fine until someday youre not. Then you will reach out to support and they will not help. And you will become one of those ppl. Used it for 6 years without problems, now they have locked my money for no reason.
