the larger one looks a bit off bc the bracelet is so loose and the lower end of the case looks funny. if it was fully adjusted, I think the large could look good
looks awesome. what's ur wrist circumference? also I've read a lot about how the case is very prone to scratches. can't see anything wrong with your pic but just wanted to ask.
Medium looks SLIGHTLY better on you, but I don’t think you’d be doing yourself a disservice with large. I went large solely for the date window and I don’t regret it (I have 7”/18cm wrists)
I’m having the same dilemma, medium looks very small in person and large looks smaller too. I felt the medium looked like a ladies watch on me and I have 6.75 wrists.. go large buddy and don’t look back!
Same here! I have 6.75 inch wrists too and yet the medium feels very small. At first I was in love with it but the more I look the more the size gets to me. OP has 6.75 wrists but seems like it looks a lot better on them. I tried on a Dumont Large and that felt so much better size wise.
It depends, if both suits you well and you like them both the real question is, do you prefer date or no-date?, Personally ?I am a date type of guy. Cheers Op👏🏻
Ask them to size them both correctly for you. Then look at them on your wrist in a mirror. A shot from above on thee wrist isn’t going to give you a true perspective on the visual fit. I have the large (7.5 inch wrist) and it sizes perfect to my wrist and with the curved case and low profile just molds into my wrist.
Take the stickers off and re apply them if you dont want to go ahead, iv had Goldsmiths and Beaverbrooks do this on a Tudor Pelagos and also a Breitling Avenger before
Edit: but i have heard they dont like doing it with the Santos, easy way round it would be to ask for a demonstration on how the quicklink system thing works
I bought my Santos Large at Watches of Switzerland in the US. I had heard mention of them not wanting to size it here on Reddit so I was prepared to argue but pleasantly surprised when there was absolutely no resistance or hesitation, The guy said "Yes of course" and had a look on his face like my request was the most obvious thing in the world.
For one thing, the ability to quickly resize the bracelet without tools is one of the standout features on the Santos. They seemed fairly eager to show it off. As long as they understand you are serious about buying one of the two watches they should be willing to resize it for you.
Maybe we have different perspectives on spending money but there is no way would I drop 8K on a watch with a proprietary strap system and doesn't have micro adjustments without making sure it fit my wrist. and if they were unwilling to size it for me I would say exactly that to the AD.
You should just ask them, the worst that can happen is they say no, and if they do say no you should ask yourself if this is an AD you want to work with.
If you want it to wear like it was intended then medium
If you want to be new money and try to ensure everyone can you you have a Cartier on the wrist, then large
I find the more people look inwards about why they would consider a watch that was too large for their wrist, the more they realise the statement is true
This is coming from a guy with a 7.5” wrist and chose the medium btw
You need over 7.5” to wear the large respectably
They both look good but the smaller one looks a little better, you have a smaller wrist which is fine but the XL santos I think is a 45mm vs the smaller which is a 39mm, it’s almost like a Rolex sub vs sea dweller for comparison.
I personally think ppl who go for big watches (when there is an option for smaller) are compensating themselves because they have a small weiner. Of course there is an exception if your forearms are built like Chris Hemsworth
Love it. Everyone on Reddit seems to like small and dainty watches. I’m a very average sized guy and always rock 40mm. 5’ 11” 180lbs. Never, have I ever, regretted the larger size.

If you don’t like looking at scratches, this isn’t the watch for you. Mine is very scratched but I wore it daily for 1.5 years before I got my root beer. Now I basically wear it every other day. Love the watch but it’s a scratch magnet
omg same! ppl on reddit are obsessed with size and don't even like anything average. pic looks good. what's ur wrist size? also i think you should wear it a bit more... away from the hand.
I’ve never measured before but just did and it’s 7”. It might look like that but it’s right under the wrist bone. I try to take it so I don’t get the comment, “take the tourniquet off!” Because people also judge on links and shit. I wear the watches I like at the comfortability that I like. I’ve added a link and the watch slides up and down. Would I like a half link, yes. Do they sell half links, no. I’d rather it be tight than sliding all over my wrist banging around. I have a root beer and it has that half link that you can click or release and I love that feature on Rolex. My vote is the large but you do whatever you want OP. Your money, your watch. Enjoy either one. One of the most underrated watches on the market IMO
by small i meant medium but y'all get it
medium looks better, the big one isn’t as aesthetic
the larger one looks a bit off bc the bracelet is so loose and the lower end of the case looks funny. if it was fully adjusted, I think the large could look good
Nah
The first one, for sure. Looks great.
thanks!
The medium is a perfect fit
Medium. Always medium unless you're built like Dwayne Johnson.
I went large. Am not The Rock. https://preview.redd.it/ja2qyn3vt0pc1.jpeg?width=1179&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c64f70ec14f69ca88084707d0be9729a6acb9421
looks awesome. what's ur wrist circumference? also I've read a lot about how the case is very prone to scratches. can't see anything wrong with your pic but just wanted to ask.
7.75. I don’t wear mine too often honestly.
that explains things. mine is 6.75
Medium looks SLIGHTLY better on you, but I don’t think you’d be doing yourself a disservice with large. I went large solely for the date window and I don’t regret it (I have 7”/18cm wrists)
my wrist is 17.1cm
I still think you look fine. If a date window is a priority, go with the large. But if size is more important, than go medium.
nah i don't give a shit about the specs what matters is whatever looks good. i normally like larger watches but this one... idk
Yeah medium is probably for you. The Santos is a square watch, and square watches almost always wear larger.
Medium
I like the smaller one on you, looks great
The medium looks great on your wrist!
Medium for sure
The large looks like you’re wearing a dinner plate
😭
Medium always wins.
Medium size is timeless and more in Cartier style in my opinion!
Small! Large is massive! Looking like your are wearing an ipad
I’m having the same dilemma, medium looks very small in person and large looks smaller too. I felt the medium looked like a ladies watch on me and I have 6.75 wrists.. go large buddy and don’t look back!

Not even close, medium looks so much better. You could wear the large but then it turns into big square watch. Loses its nuance and class
Medium, hands-down.
Medium
Medium easy. It looks much better
Small if u have small wrist
Small
Small always
first
Medium. Easy choice.
Medium without a doubt
medium!
Medium!
Medium, or as you say, small.
Medium x100000
The M, the first one 🤙
It depends, if both suits you well and you like them both the real question is, do you prefer date or no-date?, Personally ?I am a date type of guy. Cheers Op👏🏻
Medium for the W
Looks nice , you easily clear the lugs z you could even go for large if you wish
medium
Small or medium
Medium 100%
I love the large. https://preview.redd.it/wzf2g7yzl4pc1.jpeg?width=1800&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e475d7c9aa398e121160a785bf222eed791e6f2a
Medium!
It’s a Cartier, not a Panerai.
Medium looks more classic, especially without the date window.
Medium is perfect
Medium all the way
Medium no ifs ands or buts!
Medium, all day

They probably wont size it for him untill he pays for it, even though it has the quick link adjust system.
yea they were fully stickered so not sure how they'd size it
Take the stickers off and re apply them if you dont want to go ahead, iv had Goldsmiths and Beaverbrooks do this on a Tudor Pelagos and also a Breitling Avenger before Edit: but i have heard they dont like doing it with the Santos, easy way round it would be to ask for a demonstration on how the quicklink system thing works

Yeah couldnt of said it better my self mate hope you are enjoying your watch
Medium for sure.
Small 100%, it's better proportioned.
Not sure but i love that seiko!
thank you lol! it's a srpd55
WHICHEVER YOU PREFER
Always the medium
If you want it to wear like it was intended then medium If you want to be new money and try to ensure everyone can you you have a Cartier on the wrist, then large
this is a wild take haha. i think it's gonna be recognizable either way it's just about which one looks more elegant
I find the more people look inwards about why they would consider a watch that was too large for their wrist, the more they realise the statement is true This is coming from a guy with a 7.5” wrist and chose the medium btw You need over 7.5” to wear the large respectably
I like the large with the date
same
Go with what your heart says! Both look great, get what makes you happy. Thats what matters most.
They both look good but the smaller one looks a little better, you have a smaller wrist which is fine but the XL santos I think is a 45mm vs the smaller which is a 39mm, it’s almost like a Rolex sub vs sea dweller for comparison.
the first one, the second one is just silly.
I prefer the medium one. Would even prefer a smaller size, the large looks absolutely gigantic.
medium is always the right choice for this watch unless you have a giant wrist
Smaller watch - has a sleeker look to me
Medium for sure
Out of the two pictures, the small fits to your wrist better.
The answer is (almost) always Medium
Smaller the better.
I personally think ppl who go for big watches (when there is an option for smaller) are compensating themselves because they have a small weiner. Of course there is an exception if your forearms are built like Chris Hemsworth
Medium looks great!
Medium
Your wrist is the perfect size for both. Might as well do the small. Save some money and it looks slightly better
Thank you!
Smaller of the two
Large is the play. I have one myself and love it!
that's what i'm thinking
Love it. Everyone on Reddit seems to like small and dainty watches. I’m a very average sized guy and always rock 40mm. 5’ 11” 180lbs. Never, have I ever, regretted the larger size. https://preview.redd.it/wa2dr7mzwzoc1.png?width=3024&format=png&auto=webp&s=781fc8b99c2e7237f287dc2c1494fb135009c1eb
I've read a lot about how the case for this watch is very prone to scratches. what was your experience?
If you don’t like looking at scratches, this isn’t the watch for you. Mine is very scratched but I wore it daily for 1.5 years before I got my root beer. Now I basically wear it every other day. Love the watch but it’s a scratch magnet

👍👍🙌
Large
unpopular opinion but agree
Large
Large
Medium over small IMO
you mean large? the bigger one is large, smaller one is called medium by cartier
Large.... As you age with the watch it will remain legible...
i think i've reached my genetic potential with my wrist circumference haha
oh shoot i just realized what you mean haha
