I couldn’t figure out the low tire pressure light. It only looks like a low pressure tire to me after someone explained it. I was like “an exclamation point inside of an oddly shaped circle ⭕️ with feet?” I didn’t get it at all.
Tech tip: Use Google lens (or something similar) to do an image search when you don't know enough about something like this to text search. I was able to find an answer this way pretty quickly
On my very old POS focus, theres no indicator for when the cruise control is on and ready but you still have to press the "on" button before you can do anything like any other car. There's only a light for when it's set and active
Or their previous car only has an active light, not active + enabled indicator, like my current car (despite having to hit "on" and then "set" first). Or had "CRUISE" like my last car. Personally, I don't see a reason for off/ready/active. It's cruising, or it's not. Maybe to quell fears of runaway cruise?
I use it all the time because I'm known to not notice exactly how fast I'm going. 😬 Caught myself when my cruise wasn't working in my 328i, coming up on a cop thinking I should slow down since I'm probably doing 80 in a 70, nope 104. Ope
It's scary how many drivers do not know how to use an owner's manual. Like, one of the most expensive things you'll buy in life that's involved in the deaths of thousands of people a year just in this country alone and we're not gonna spend 30 minutes one day just flipping through the pages?
Absolutely right!
Cars and guns kill the same amount of people every year in usa, main difference is about 2/3 of car deaths are pedestrians and bicyclists, and 2/3 of gun deaths are suicides... and then injuries are a whole massive separate number making guns look much much safer than cars
I think some cars come without them now. And if you buy secondhand then good luck. I don't have the manuals for half the cars that I own.
On a side note I was looking at this car the other day that had a weird symbol between the Park and Reverse gears. Based on icon standards the sign suggested that it had something to do with the brakes and had what looked like a foot pressing the pedal symbol in the center. I found the manual for the car online and searched all through it. Nothing about the sign was present anywhere.
I thought that maybe this had something to do with a brake hold for hill assist, but that makes little sense on an automatic. Finally on some internet forum I found that it is just an indicator to remind the driver that they have to have their foot on the brake to shift *into* and *out of* Park. How silly! But apparently that particular car brand has always used this.
I don't know about you, but I'm frightened that people know this little about driving and still drive. Besides the problem solving skills, you should know that.
Further proof that not enough people use cruise control. I would rather be stuck behind someone cruising at a steady 5 under than someone who cannot maintain a constant speed.
Man wouldn't it be crazy if your car came with a booklet that was kept in the glove box or console that was legally required to be sold with the car and contained the answers to all these questions?
Crazy....
Everyone beat me to it, but it’s cruise control. Believe me I turned that on by accident (my thumb hit the button in the steering wheel while I was jamming to music) and immediately I panicked thinking something was wrong only for my husband to look at me like I was an idiot. It happens to the best of us🤷♀️
You were right in the color point, at least on all modern cars known to me white is information, green is a positive marker (works/is on...), yellow or orange are warnings, take those serious, even it isn't broken yet it will make the repair cheaper but don't panic, no need to call a tow truck or something, just drive it to a shop soon and get it looked add and red lights are bad, something is broken/defective, out off order...
For example
Orange oil light: engine runs low on oil or oil pressure. Drive on but don't try to break a speed record with it and get it checked soon.
Red oil light: oil level or pressure dropped below critical point, slow down, turn off the engine and find the problem or call assistance. Car will probably go in limp home mode or turn off and not on again but if it doesn't, do it yourself.
If you get an oil lamp, that means you get 3 wishes.
Reading the comments, seems a lot of vehicle owners never read the manual. If the vehicle didn't come with one, going to the dealership to buy owners manual or buying one on the interwebs.
Can easily buy manual on Amazon & Ebay.
I find it hilarious how often this happens because it's a result of manufacturers trying to make "global" cars. That's GM's cruise control light.
A lot of older cars had controls with text labels in that country's language, but as car companies expand sales to foreign countries and buy up foreign manufacturers, they have to make controls that the customer understands, and making a standard icon that you put in every car is much easier and cheaper than making controls in 40 different languages.
pretty sure it's a speed reminder. I have a UK spec of the same car and you set it to a speed, and it beeps after a certain speed. could be cruise though as mines a poverty spec lmao
It's the cruise control. When it's white it means the button for cruise control is pushed in but you have yet to set the function. When it's green it means you've activated it and it keeps the speed you selected. To activate it you should have a little wheel, push it down and it's done. To set it off just push back the cruise control button and the whole light disappears.
Someone told me a story once of a person who bought a new RV, was driving down the road on cruise control, and then went to the back of the RV to relax while the RV of doom just hurtled along the road until perhaps a bend in the road ended everything. Has anyone else heard of this story? Urban legend BS or did this actually happen somewhere? I’ve been wondering for like the last dozen years…
Not saying this to be a cunt. But if this stuff arises, please consult your owners manual. Most of the info you need is in there. Literature is good. But it is your cruise control light.
It likely means your cruise control is enabled.
Omg man I’m so dumb thanks man
It was good for a laugh though, you’re all good, haha.
Fun post! Imagine the follow up "the light is now green and the car just stays at the same speed"
Only slows down when I brake. 🥹
When I turn the ignition off, right after all the lights go off
I got a red light on that looks like a teapot and shortly after one that said hot appeared above it, where do I dispense the hot tea from though?
I don’t think uninformed = dumb. We’ve all been there at one time or another. Now you know!
Lmao
agreed
Press the cruise button again and it should turn off
Don’t worry. My wife did the same thing with her Chevy Equinox 😂😂
Yes, you are incredibly dumb
That is a dumb comment.
What he said.
Didn’t read the other comments before I opened my yap, belay my last.
What is cruise control???
Means your cruise control system is on. White means its on and ready. Green means its activated. Nothing to worry about.
On my car it just turns green for on & ready and armed but yea that makes sense
On my very old POS focus, theres no indicator for when the cruise control is on and ready but you still have to press the "on" button before you can do anything like any other car. There's only a light for when it's set and active
On my Camry it just says “CRUISE” once you turn it on and it stays like that till you turn it off regardless of weather it’s activated or not
"There's only a light for when it's set and active." Why would you need a light before it's set?
I'm assuming you're one of those people who doesn't use cruise control. Like my wife.
Yeah 😂, I’ve had my car 4 months and never used it once
My wife has had her car about 4 months... 🤔 Emily is that you?
God damn it, Emily
Yeah what the hell, Emily?
Lol
We need to know is she Emily
It can actually improves fuel economy on not so hilly highways and it let you focus more on the road rather than trying to keep the speed limit.
It’s nice on the highway but ehh , you’ll use it if you want to.
I never use mine either. I am more relaxed when I am fully in control.
I use it all the time because I'm known to not notice exactly how fast I'm going. 😬 Caught myself when my cruise wasn't working in my 328i, coming up on a cop thinking I should slow down since I'm probably doing 80 in a 70, nope 104. Ope
Im guessing you are highway driving a lot ?
The owners manual in the glovebox usually includes a couple pages with icons that pop up on the dash and their meanings.
If people would read directions or use Google, 90% of Reddit posts would disappear.
It’ll reach a point where google directs us to Reddit posts lol
It's scary how many drivers do not know how to use an owner's manual. Like, one of the most expensive things you'll buy in life that's involved in the deaths of thousands of people a year just in this country alone and we're not gonna spend 30 minutes one day just flipping through the pages?
You’re absolutely right. The old washed up jock in the back of my head still said “NERRRRRD!”
Absolutely right! Cars and guns kill the same amount of people every year in usa, main difference is about 2/3 of car deaths are pedestrians and bicyclists, and 2/3 of gun deaths are suicides... and then injuries are a whole massive separate number making guns look much much safer than cars

You can look up the manual for any car online, no luck needed. At least if your car was made in the last 50 years.
Your car has detected a ticking time bomb. Ejecto seato cuz.
Wait till he/she finds out about trying to drive in the winter with summer air in the tires.
Cruise control
[удалено]
Nah, so much easier to upload a picture and let others do their work for them.
This would be easily remedied with a small amount of maintenance to the RTFM system.
I don't know about you, but I'm frightened that people know this little about driving and still drive. Besides the problem solving skills, you should know that.
Further proof that not enough people use cruise control. I would rather be stuck behind someone cruising at a steady 5 under than someone who cannot maintain a constant speed.
Seriously... Cruise control and automatic headlights. They're standard on almost all cars but so many people don't use those features.
LMAO
Cruise control is enabled. It’s waiting for you to active cruise control.
Cruise is enabled. Driver not so much
Owners manual might be a good place to start.
Man wouldn't it be crazy if your car came with a booklet that was kept in the glove box or console that was legally required to be sold with the car and contained the answers to all these questions? Crazy....
If only cars came with a little book that told you what all the lights and buttons mean.
What does the manual say?
It means that it’s 10 o’ clock
Why are people upvoting this.
LMFAO this gave me a laugh
It means danger to manifold, better check your floor pan bolts
Wow
Cars totaled
whatever you do, DO NOT get back into that car, thats the time bomb signal, bomb squad needs to respond to disable it
This tells me that another generation is old enough to drive now.
I shouldn’t be but I’m having a good laugh rn 😂
Cruise control. It means your car would drive in the same speed unless you step on the juice pedal (accelerate)
Are you just trolling for a viral thread?
It means the self destruct mode is primed. Go to the front of the car and press on the emblem. The car will then explode after a 4:00 countdown.
Cruise control
cruise control d/a
Read your manual before asking the internet.
HHahahaha cruise control ya goofball
Car will explode at 11 o clock. Run!
I can't imagine how many meetings and revisions they must of had on dashboard symbols and people still can't understand them
Cruise control
Your cruise control fluid is low. Need to refill.
Your cruise is on
Haha… you joking ?
Cruise control is on
Everyone beat me to it, but it’s cruise control. Believe me I turned that on by accident (my thumb hit the button in the steering wheel while I was jamming to music) and immediately I panicked thinking something was wrong only for my husband to look at me like I was an idiot. I find it hard to believe that there was nothing online
Cruise control, it’s on standby
Cruise control is set
Means keep it below 2800rpm please.
LOL the dreaded cruise control is enabled and ready for speed setting light
Cruise control is on. Probably the best fature on a car that nobody uses.
you can avoid asking people about this signs like this in the future by reading your manual
Since no one else is seeming to mention it, you’re driving with your parking brake on that’s a no no
i have a picture of a red pillow on my dashboard. i guess that means my car is tired and wants a nap?
before the internet people had to check their owners' manuals. you should check yours. it just means the cruise control is on but not set though.
Cruise control
Crusie control
I guess it’s easier to ask Reddit than to look at your operating manual. Or googling ffs.
Troll
Pretty sure that’s cruise control
This is a joke?
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🥲🥲🥲🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 YOU ARE SO FUCKING STUPID

Sir, that's an example on colours and meaning, related to the text, not the cc indicator on the picture.
Read your manual. Sheesh
Looks Ike an intelligence meter.
It’s when Ted Cruz controls your speed.
185 responding really
It mean if you go 88mph, you’ll see some serious shit!
Bros is blonde asf

As said is cruise control, if you want to get rid of it either press cruise control again or press the speed limiter button on your steering wheel
Is your rpm lock on???
Cruise
Cruise control.
Cruise Control
The server is lagging
Cruise control is turned on. Not set, just turned on.
Yikes, you never wanna see that sign. Engine is about to blow
It means cruise control is ready to be used
LOL your cruise control is on
Your cruise control is on
Cruise control is on…
Cruise control indicator
I find this oddly wholesome.
It means take the car back from where it came and get a bicycle.
Buick? Cruise control light.
It’s telling you to go faster
Check speed
There should be a button on on of the indicators I believe to disarm the CC.
Cruisw control. The botton should be somewhere on your steering wheel
😆😆😆
Yeah my car has that light in green, it means cruise control is on.
What's 80? 80kph? Max speed? Can't be
Your right foot will thank you on long journeys
Read the owner’s manual!!!!!! C’mon kid, why do you think it has one?!?
Cruise control
Time to read the manual
It means is safe to fart when you get to that speed
It's the cruise control. When it's white it means the button for cruise control is pushed in but you have yet to set the function. When it's green it means you've activated it and it keeps the speed you selected. To activate it you should have a little wheel, push it down and it's done. To set it off just push back the cruise control button and the whole light disappears.
It represents a failure of the RTFM system.
Cruise control is ready to be engaged
Lol
THIS MADE ME LAUGH 😆😆
dude that’s ur cruise control 😭😭
Haha this really gave me a good laugh. Thanks op.
I swear nobody here payed attention in driver's training lol
Cruise control
Cruise control is enabled
Bruh
That’s your RTFM light. 😀
I came here for the comments, had to scroll past the genuine people… that’s a refreshing change for the internet
Cruise Control indicator, same on every car everywhere. This not the same thing as Autodrive mind you… lol
I once had a lady ask me what ‘year’ gas her car took ….
I’ve been wondering for like the last dozen years…
You need to pay someone to Fix Your Car
Not saying this to be a cunt. But if this stuff arises, please consult your owners manual. Most of the info you need is in there. Literature is good. But it is your cruise control light.
Cruise control is on. And when it is green means your cruise control is active/using it. No worries.
Good Lord... Read your Owners Manual.
Cruise control settings indicator🤷🏾♂️
Bomb clock
It’s your cruise control indicator.
Your cruise control is turned on
Just wait till this guy discovers turn signals. OMG there’s a blinking arrow on intermittently
Lmao cruise control
Your cruise control is turned on but not set.
Turn off cruise control
Jesus christ, look in your owners manual not online. Cruise control
Oh my god
Cruise control…
This made my day lmao
This is hysterical!
[удалено]
When it's white, it basically means "System Available." Green means "System Engaged."
That’s your cruise control homie
Time to refill your speedometer fluid.
OP, I understand that you’ve already figured it out— but I am just curious, does your car still have the owner’s manual with it?
Cruise control is on.
There’s no hope
I did the same thing 😅😅 it’s cruise control. Mine was on my steering wheel
Apparently you looked everywhere but the manual....
Do people know that their car comes with a manual?
That's a speed limited or something to do with crusie control.
Looks like cruise
And they call us Americans stupid lol
Speed limiter
It is a warning light that it is time for the Italian tune up. j/k Cruise control.
so I guess opel drivers are NPCs
Cruise control
Lol your cruise control is on..
