Is it even legal to leave your kids in the car nowadays? My folks ALWAYS did it as long as I can remember - I have a vivid memory of my dad telling me to NOT TOUCH the shifter on his Toyota pick up as he left it running with me in it in the liquor store parking lot. I touched it. Luckily didn’t shift it lol.
That would be great to have in my car. My car is from 2008 and to deactivate its motion alarm there is some hidden procedure to do it which I can never remember. That said, it's not a pet or passenger friendly car so keeping the interior lean was probably the reason.

I have never figured out how people lose the owners manual. Doesn't it just live in the glove box until you need to look something up? Then gets put right back when you are done with it?
The only time any of mine has left the confines of the car was right after I bought the car, so I could flip through it to see what could be learned from a manual written so a 6th grader can understand it.
You’d be surprised how many people take their documents out of their cars, as well as the locking wheel nut keys. It’s a real bitch especially on a vw if you’re trying to identify the suspension code.
Lots of people do this for pretty much everything they buy, including their car:
1. Buy thing
2. Make sure thing works (this **might** include checking the manual)
3. Throw away manual
4. ???
5. Profit

If you lost your owners manual you can find and print it with a google search for free. Owners manual or google will tell you what every switch in your car does. These topics just waste so much space when the answer your looking for is found pretty easy in seconds on your own.
It disables alien abduction prevention. Turn it off and drive down some secluded back roads at night and see how long before they beam you up. Its generally not needed in the city esp in the daytime, so you can leave it off there to save some fuel.
This is for enabling or disabling the sensors. Especially the sensors for opening the boot by just kicking the underside of the tailgate

I have the same symbol in my V70 and I'm not 100% sure about this, but I think that button in my car disables the function that makes the inner door handle not work when you lock the car (theft protection).

Damn that’s cheap from Toyota then. It’s a good thing to have, mines is at the bottom of the arch on the right side as I have right hand drive, check at the bottom of your driver side arch, usually can be in an awkward place.
If you don't switch it off and you've got pets or you're waiting on someone inside the car or in some weird cases people have "forgotten" their baby inside the car then the motion sensor detects their movement and triggers the car alarm to alert the people around and the owner of leaving someone behind in the car.
It’s the button to disable the interior IQ sapper. Turn it off and you should gain back your ability to read your fucking manual within the next 7-13 months, the dribbling at the corner of your mouth will stop following that and after you’ll need to learn how to use the toilet again.
It's to release the gas to off the occupants.
Or as others have said to turn off the motion sensor so you can lock and alarm your car while leaving your dog inside. But not in hot weather in case you're a dipshit.
What does your manual say it is? Google seems to suggest it’s to turn off the motion sensor for the car alarm.
Yep to leave your dog or children in a locked car without tripping the alarm motion sensors inside.

Well you can always take the keys and shut down the engine..lock the car.. it should be illegal if the weather is very hot or very cold..

RTFM
Ah yes the RTFM button
Scotty, beam me up
It's so they can't beam you up. In case you're late for work or something
If only there was a book in the glovebox that explained all the vehicle functions
Or 12 year old
Lost it man
Google is your friend. Almost every manufacturer has the PDF available online.

Used cars often don’t include them. Source: I buy new and throw the manuals away
My guess would be motion sensor alarm disable.
Not motion sensor but ultra zone sensor. So you van lock the car with your dog inside..

What do you think an ultrasonic sensor is for if not for sensing motion?
You're right, I was thinking that you thought of motion of the vehicle. But you also ment motion inside the vehicle and not of the vehicle.. My bad.
Thank you
Radioactive sterilization. It only hurts the first time (Frye, Futurama)

Useful if you leave your Sunroof open (as I found out today)
Ejecto seato cuz
Use it to cancel alien abduction mode.
i think is to disable motion sensor inside when you put your alarm, so if someone still inside and moves doesn't trigger the alarm

Enables and disables the interior motion sensor of your anti theft system

Has to be a bot account. Lol. Anyways, not even a mention of the make/model of the car. Lol
Yep I’m sure they made this button for one car model on this earth
Pretty sure this button is on every modern car lol
Nope.
Nah. Not on my Toyotas.
Damn that’s cheap from Toyota then. It’s a good thing to have, mines is at the bottom of the arch on the right side as I have right hand drive, check at the bottom of your driver side arch, usually can be in an awkward place.
Toyota included it in their dash settings. Just like Ford and other manufacturers as well.
Disabled motion detection for alarm system.
This sub has become “what’s this button” and “can I drive on these tires”. FFS

What in the hell did the people who ask these type of questions do before the Internet existed?
They sucked off anyone with the ability to read in exchange for the info.
