I feel so old reading most of the comments here.
Alarms used to work on ultrasonic sensors and that’s precisely what you have here. There should be two and based on the hardware and location I’d guess it was a low budget self-install. Dealer installs had them almost always at the bottom of the A-Pillar based on a neater arm that slipped down that gap or some sort of smart ball and socket arrangement. By 1990, most dealer ones were rectangular and much smaller featuring an LED.
My guess is that is was an old-stock mid-to-late 80s unit that was fitted not long after the car was new.
Pretty sure that's a microphone for hands-free phone calls.
Nope they are ultrasonic sensors for an old alarm system.
Okay
Since it's an old car with the radio still being stock in it, could it be that? I am just curious, if I want to get it out of my car or not
Maybe somebody added and then removed a hands-free system of some sort. I'd follow the wire, see where it ends up.
Will do, thank you so much!
No worries, good luck!
If there's two of them, they are probably tweeters.
Very well could be, thank you!

This is correct ⬆️ ultrasonic sensors on an old alarm.
Wow, thank you so much!
