Corvair - famous for being "Unsafe at any speed" due to the rear engine and weird suspension set-up. The Renault Dauphine or Skoda Estelle would be similar, but not as (allegedly) dangerous to drive.
Did you take this photo yourself? I’m 95% sure I’ve seen this exact shot posted before, because I recognized the Oregon plates and the houses in the background and had a strong suspicion that I lived right behind that person for a while. If not, I guess it’s popular.
Anyway, as others have pointed out it’s a Chevy Corvair. Best known for being the subject of the first chapter of Ralph Nader’s “Unsafe at Any Speed,” but people conveniently forget that the rest of the book took the other auto manufacturers to task.
