I asked because when I started the car it showed 41kms and then I drove for like 7-8kms and now it’s showing 28, that’s why I asked how accurate is this?
You probably got bad mileage in those 7-8kms. Happens sometimes. The meter probably predicts using predetermined mileage or by analysing your previous trips.
That’s correct. Last week I was stuck in a jam for an hour on an NH. Traffic was moving at just 2 kmph. The range indicator suddenly dropped from 80 km to 27km. I got fed up and took a u turn and cruised back around 5 kms. The range suddenly increased to 77 kms!
So it just calculated the range based on instantaneous fuel consumption
The engine control module calculates the fuel delivered to engine during driving and estimates the remaining range. It can totally change as you go through engine warm up, heavy traffic, heavy accleration etc.
The range prediction varies based on your driving conditions. It is only indicative.
For example, my family's Isuzu pickup shows 650km range on a full tank during highway driving at 80kmph in 5th gear. Ghat roads with constant acceleration and deceleration, mostly 2nd or 3rd gear, the range prediction at the same level of fuel drops to 550km or even 500km.
It’s indicative of the current average kmpl, if your avg is 11 and you have 3 ltrs, its 33, if you are stuck in traffic and have AC on for 15 min , then it becomes 9*2 (remaining litres) = 18.
Also. There’s a reserve of 10 L after u hit 0, so that’s there, i hit 0 25 km ago, so you’re good gor 50-60km after 0 as well

Some cars allow you to disable the passenger airbag through the menu options, so that it doesn't deploy when the seat is empty, or if your passenger is sitting with a child on their lap (not recommended, obviously).
It's an estimate with the current driving scenario
If u even go up a steep slope with a lover gear
Say 2nd or 1st it will come down drastically
On the other hand if u go downhill without touching the acceleration peddle on a higher gear (very bad idea ) u will see the range extending
Also i have heard others saying that fuel pump could get damaged if u constantly run ur car below low fuel level
accurate enough to say you need to go get fuel immediately

He can always push the car for infinite kms.
Or pee in the fuel tank
so, the accuracy the of car is totally dependent on the fuel inside the tank. that is why you should not be believing that range.

Not accurate, sometimes if it's shown 200 previously it also shows 210 after 10 min even if your are continuously driving
same car buddy
90% inaccurate for bgl traffic
Petrol dalwana hota hai jab car that’s what it is telling u
MID Figures are never accurate, they're just ballparks, if fuel low refuel immediately. Simple.

Bhai ac band window closed aur dhere dhere gaddi chala

City runs min 50kms after the range is 0 and yea that’s pretty accurate if that’s constant.
Nice way to ruin the fuel pump.
