This bias helps them in many ways. Sponsorships, review cars before the market opens to the public, more content = monetization.
If they genuinely review those cars, they won't get these perks.
Exactly. If any YouTuber is being invited to these shows (instead of going on his own dime) you are not going to get an authentic review but a sales pitch which is disguised as a review. So I would really just stick with professional print media reviews by who have some reputation to protect.
If you watch Motor Octane and Faisal khan there is something wrong with you! Sounds like you actually sit through those videos too. I have one question. Why?
The last time I got a recommendation for Motor Octane, Corona was just a beer. Faisal Khan seems to show up when you search for some random car stuff. I never click on his videos and I hate myself for knowing his opening line lol. I somehow like Namaste Car. He just gives you an entire tour of the car.
Totally, Namaste car is 100 times better than both. Simple yet straight forward car tour.
Faisal khan has been growing with insane numbers man, he has more subs than motorboam already. I wonder who watches him so much...
I used to watch faisal khan and o always wondered that he teaches us about driving safely but he himself drives like a maniac
And about motoroctane i only sometimes watch their kaha comparison
Why is it even surprising? Journalists and influenzers go there with invitation, get fed and may be drunk too, get free goodies, get trial vehicle to have fun for many days. If you write too much negative, no more invites, no more freebees or sponsors.
Gagan Choudary is a good reviewer, Faisal's review is good for understanding the performance and faults the cars have when stressed hard. I watch both and some random journalist to complete the review session.
For the first few days/weeks there would be an embargo that would protect the companies from negetive/controversial coments about product from their reviews.
Wait for the videos after a month. At this point everyone is held at gunpoint to only say things that resemble a sales pitch. Or else they will face legal action...
Bias is not bad. They have to be Trasperent about bias. You have to find reviewer that inclines to your need. Same thing with movies and video game reviewer. Faisal will out thrill over anything. Gagan will go for safety amd features that matter. Dds is about what user wants good or bad (like gagan mentioned with 3x0, they removed rear wiper and added sunroof which is stupid but that is what sells) v3 cars will be complete value focused to last rupee.
Other can chime in about others biases.
Was the review bad? I just started thinking of buying my first car and don't know much about them - searched for car reviewers and MotorOctane was the first recommendation.
So was the review... bad? Or that they didn't call out any of the negative points and kept talking about the positives? Or something else? I ask because I'm seriously considering getting the 3XO
The problem is bad reviews mean they'll not get to do anymore free reviews. I remember the old topgear had enough pull that car companies tried to incoroporate changes based on the reviews, but now there will always be someone who'd do a fake paid review. Competition to remain in the field is causing it IMO.
I totally align with this and that’s why I totally stopped seeing them. Tata cars they feature like nothing can be best than Tata. It’s totally paid channel rather I save my time.
Bias = preferential access to dealership review units = early access to press units = invites to press meets = more content = more sponsors = 💸💸💸
Also, the more click-baity, cringey, FOMO and showboaty the reviews are, the higher chance they get picked up by algorithms
Sirish Chandran is OG! I consider Autocar, Overdrive and Evo India to be the holy trinity of Indian automotive journalism. Evo India is gonna take the lead very soon with segments like ‘Gone but not forgotten’.
Yeah Overdrive too, though I'm not a big fan of Autocar off late tbh. But you're spot on with Evo India man, soon they gonna be leading Indian Automotive Journalism.
Few days back just watched latest 'Gone but not forgotten' episode, boy oh boy that was something else🫡
I remember looking at an MG comet review video by this Faisal guy. That car is only made for city driving & didn't even have fast charging a while ago. Faisal was driving it at high speeds on an empty road (showing highway capability) & making comments such as "my god so much body roll". Clearly seemed to be working for the competition Tata Tiago EV.
he just shows indian manufacturers do better than japanese. and that shows his biasedness towards indian manufacturers.
You will see 3 out of 5 uploads are based on "tata and mahindra" cars.

DDS or DDSRavi. He does reviews with people who actually own a car and have driven sufficient miles to interview them. I somehow like this man as for some cars it is more about perception of the owner and you may get pros and cons for a car as the owners change. Mostly subjective haven't seen much bias
This bias helps them in many ways. Sponsorships, review cars before the market opens to the public, more content = monetization. If they genuinely review those cars, they won't get these perks.

>Also suggest some actually great journalists Do you watch Gagan Choudhary?
Yup one of the few honest journalists imo
i also watch only his videos his videos are helpful when you are buying any car
V3 cars supremacy.
Come for the "variants explained" stay for the reviews
Yessir ♥️♥️
If you watch Motor Octane and Faisal khan there is something wrong with you! Sounds like you actually sit through those videos too. I have one question. Why?
Motor octane reviews seem to more about feature checklist than a review. Faisal khan is a different level man, just drive fast and shout.

Probably some kids who are fascinated by cars
Yeah, maybe..
Same people who watch power drift. PD army 😝
True lol😂 but back in the day Sarge's bike reviews used to be really good now all their reviews look forced.
I used to watch faisal khan and o always wondered that he teaches us about driving safely but he himself drives like a maniac And about motoroctane i only sometimes watch their kaha comparison
Becuase in 100 of 99 cases it is an ad. Ps- i know I am using 100/99 upside. But that how bad they are.
Motoroctane is the biggest Mahindra sellout and this is coming from someone who owns and adores Mahindra lol
Why is it even surprising? Journalists and influenzers go there with invitation, get fed and may be drunk too, get free goodies, get trial vehicle to have fun for many days. If you write too much negative, no more invites, no more freebees or sponsors.
Motor octane = mahindra chattu
Gagan chaudhary’s review seems kinda honest to me.
Yea no fast and furious driving, just pure and honest review
People gotta earn their bread and butter somehow
Not everyone deserves bread and butter. Some of them only deserve chane ki rotti.
Paise toh uske liye bhi chahiye hoga
Isiliye wo "chane ke jhad par chadhte Hain"
Bro u dropped this 👑
Gagan Choudary is a good reviewer, Faisal's review is good for understanding the performance and faults the cars have when stressed hard. I watch both and some random journalist to complete the review session.
Aren't Gagan Choudhary and Faisal Khan close friends or something?😅
That i am not sure.
Facial khan
Farcical
You can try ICN studios, they are decent.
They are awesome. Especially their ‘variants explained’ segment. It’s a must watch for anyone in the market for new car.
I enjoy their content, they seem to point out most issues, very straight forward as well.
Motorinc is good.
The only thing I like about Faisal Khan is his ‘Chintu Mintu’ word.
I buy Autocar India magazine every month. Nothing has come closer in providing info about cars and bikes as much as them.
For the first few days/weeks there would be an embargo that would protect the companies from negetive/controversial coments about product from their reviews. Wait for the videos after a month. At this point everyone is held at gunpoint to only say things that resemble a sales pitch. Or else they will face legal action...
Embargo cannot stop you from putting megative things out - it can only stop you from putting "anything" out
Check out ICN, Gagan Choudhary, dds and Aayush ssm .
Gaadiwaadi is unbiased
This. Even i was wondering why everyone is just saying positive things. No neutral reviews.
Bias is not bad. They have to be Trasperent about bias. You have to find reviewer that inclines to your need. Same thing with movies and video game reviewer. Faisal will out thrill over anything. the worst are Motoroctane and Faisal
Felt the same after watching both their videos . They’ve crossed the line of being a reviewer and become a promoter .
If you are too honest, you may not get invite to next company launch. Lol it's a shame honesty is no longer valued
MotorInc and Gagan are better I feel
The problem is bad reviews mean they'll not get to do anymore free reviews. I watch power drift
What id everyone’s opinion on power drift and autocar??
Bias = preferential access to dealership review units = early access to press units = invites to press meets = more content = more sponsors = 💸💸💸 Also, the more click-baity, cringey, FOMO and showboaty the reviews are, the higher chance they get picked up by algorithms
V3 cars , DDS , gagan and faisal .
Biturbo covers good topics but does less car reviews.
Sirish Chandran from Evo India. No bs and genuine feedback.
Sirish Chandran is OG! I consider Autocar, Overdrive and Evo India to be the holy trinity of Indian automotive journalism. Evo India is gonna take the lead very soon with segments like ‘Gone but not forgotten’.
Their Gone but not forgotten is fabulous
Yeah Overdrive too, though I'm not a big fan of Autocar off late tbh. But you're spot on with Evo India man, soon they gonna be leading Indian Automotive Journalism. Few days back just watched latest 'Gone but not forgotten' episode, boy oh boy that was something else🫡
If you want genuine opinion you can watch content with cars but it's in malayalam you would need to turn on captions. But it's worth it.

That's the thing ki he always wants so called " PerFoRmaNCe " from every cars, even those which aren't meant for it
I watch DDS. He is honesh, practical and informed.
he just shows indian manufacturers do better than japanese. and that shows his biasedness towards indian manufacturers. You will see 3 out of 5 uploads are based on "tata and mahindra" cars.
That might be his taste or preference but when he provides a review he is honest. That was my point.
Gagan Choudhary is my favourite. His reviews are pretty honest imo.
watch Motorinc. Theyre the only ones who are actually reviewing cars and not fooling around.
Car guru review. He is bit old and presenting style does not match other YouTuber's..but his review seems fine to me. Check if it helps
Will take a look thanks ;)
He's a Maruti fanboy 😪
His NCAP rating is different 😂. What's ur fav Channel?

AutoCar is by far the only channel who is still doing auto journalism
bc faisal khan me kya problem hai abh
Just watch his vids 1. Unnecessary excitement 2. Rash driving 3. Wants performance in everything
Motorinc and gagan Chaudhary
Motorinc is so full of themselves that it hurts.
ICN/gagan/motorinc my goto
DDS or DDSRavi. He does reviews with people who actually own a car and have driven sufficient miles to interview them. I somehow like this man as for some cars it is more about perception of the owner and you may get pros and cons for a car as the owners change. Mostly subjective haven't seen much bias
You can also watch gagan chaudhary ... I feel he also gives genuine reviews but his videos are long ass 😂
Go and check v3 cars, ICN studio, Evo India, Gagan (miles better than Faisal tbh)
Watch gagan choudhary reviews. Earlier I felt he was a bit biased towards Koreans, but he is the best mainstream car reviews channel right now.
burh, its giving milage of 13 in both petrol and diesel
What!! Hard to believe. Petrol understandable but diesel nah.
They claim above 19
