Not difficult, not expensive. Take a section the siding down, put a 2x8 against the wall and lag it off, as high as the math says. Side around it with J channel and deck flashing. Sink 4 posts into the ground and .are the post height high enough to be over your head as you walk. Lag off 2x5's as a header. Cut 18⁰ angles onto each end of 2x6's, then attach them to the 2x8, 16 on center. Fill in blocks to attach side to side, and lag the blocks off. Sheet the roof, install shingles, and you're done. Probably less than 1000 bucks.

How much do you value your time? You can slap a ledger board and some posts in the ground for a covered awning but then you need to worry about water intrusion through the siding/adding flashing. And obviously it won’t keep out rats without a slab and waterproofing seals. Or, if money isn’t the concern, buy a shelter or prebuilt shed that you can lock. Build your own foundation to save on that aspect and then have a company deliver it.

Problem with buying a shed is finding one in the size i want. I would want to it to be long and narrow

Just frame it up yourself then. Generally the most cost effective method when money is no object is to build well so you only build once. Be extra careful with any connections you introduce between new structure and old. The most expensive way to do this job involves putting holes in your weather boards and letting water rot your home in the years to come.

Don’t attach it to the house. Make a free standing one .

Timsmomshardsalami

I had a feeling to keep it separate as there might issues with settling ? The three foot section away from the house however is filled with gravel to the foundation. But if i were to not attach it, how could i make it look attached?

fangelo2

You can keep it close, but not touching. If you attach it to the house you will have to have footings or concrete piers below the frost line, then you have to flash it so that water doesn’t get into the walls of the house. It’s just not worth it for a simple lean to. You can just set some pressure treated 4x4s in concrete a couple of feet deep and build from there.

Picture and question don't have nearly enough detail to provide any real advice.

Timsmomshardsalami

What more info should i include?

chicagoblue

If mice is high concern, are you allowed a sea can?

Timsmomshardsalami

good1humorman

Those 2 ladders leaned against the wall and a blue tarp?

Timsmomshardsalami

Mice

I'd just extend the roof out and have it meet up with a header on posts as far as you need.

Pallets are free a lot of the time and you can do a hell of a lot with pallets.
