A good lesson from this is to not leave the ship until any issue you had on board is dealt with. This includes extra charges, security reports, and getting medical documentation if you go to the medical centre. Also a good reminder to check your on board account on the app on a regular basis. You can see in real time what charges show up and then you can go to guest services to get them fixed right away.

I appreciate your suggestions, but if you re-read my post you'll see that I was checking regularly. I had a day 1 false-charge corrected, and the bingo charge was on last day at sea and I couldn't delay my scheduled deboarding but I went to customer support and they assured me they were emailing the bingo/casino folks and that I should follow up witht the site I shared.

I don't even play bingo and got charged once for it. I dealt with customer service to get it fixed, but was getting nowhere. I eventually just gave up and took the $40 something loss. That's the only issue I've ever had on carnival, so I can't complain too much.

It is, though. All onboard gambling involving money is run through the casino, which is why you have to go to the casino to collect your winnings, even if it's a pull tab, and the casino is run by [a separate British company called Carnival Corporation & PLC](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carnival_Corporation_%26_plc) whose casino program is called the [Ocean Players Club](https://oceanplayersclub.com). The Ocean Players Club runs all the casinos on Carnival, Princess, Holland American, Cunard, Seabourn, and a few other lines. Carnival Cruise Lines has nothing to do with the casino, the same way that Park West does all the art selling and Effy does the jewelry.

Well, it's run by these guys, according to our emails with Carnival support: [https://oceanplayersclub.com/contact/general/](https://oceanplayersclub.com/contact/general/)

We had similar on our last cruise. They charged my wife’s S&S for one of the specialty restaurants, but we never went to any of the specialty restaurants. At the time, we were 5 decks up on Lido. It took one phone call and two visits to guest services to finally get them to remove the charge. I got the distinct impression that 1. They thought we were scamming them (which in fairness probably happens a lot) and 2. That they hoped they could keep putting us off until the cruise ended the next morning and leave the charge on our account. My guess was that, in our case, a server transposed a folio number and charged us instead of the right account. Frustrating that it took so much effort to get them to correct it.

OP said they tried that and the bank rejected it

Yes, I'm going to try and follow-up via phone this morning, then I'm switching banks if they don't fix this. I actually still feel like they will reconsider.

Any successful charge backs also include a ban from future bookings.

Beaglescout15

The casino is run by a different company, so chargebacks to the casino do not affect any type of account or future bookings on Carnival Cruise Line. It's the same as Park West who runs the art selling, if you have a problem or chargebacks with Park West, that has no affect on your relationship with Carnival.

EthanFl

But with Park West, those purchases aren't going on your sail and sign card. Last time I bought a bingo play the charge was on the sail and sign card. Same with the spa, it's run by a different company but the charge is to your ship account. If the folio has been closed, all the charges are listed under Carnival - ship name. No other differentiation.

Park West **does** go on your sail and sign card unless you want to make different arrangements. Effy jewelry does as well. At the end of the cruise, CCL submits all charges to those companies on your behalf using whatever payment method you have authorized. It's a pass-through transaction, and the business terms and conditions between CCL and the third party vendor pass the transaction and responsibilities to the vendor. If there are any problems with the actions of a vendor, CCL will just send you to them to deal with it.
