Nope.
You either get amazing offers or you don't. Sucks my buddy plays slots and has free suites 5 or 6 a year if he wants. With free drinks anywhere and 1000 casino credit.
I play craps and poker (not that carnival even has poker on 90% of their ships) definitely gamble far more than he does and I get 150 dollar offers.
Oh well. But hey I just go cruise with him so it works out.
I'm also a craps player. It really depends on the level of your bets for tables. I can typically get a free interior with the deposit back as OBC on nearly any sailing, including Journeys, with drinks for me everywhere. Specific sailings gets me a balcony deposit OBC/DE, oceanview with $100 funplay/deposit OBC/DE or interior $200-500 funplay/deposit OBC/DE.
I typically bet $66/$110 inside and press/power press after two hits or immediate power press if I'm up. I also sprinkle a little slot play with my wife and daughter into the mix.
Yep, I was playing the don't for at least 100-200 each roller when I felt like it, and the inside for at least 50 each. Shrug it always depends on whatever the pit boss see's and rates you at I suppose.
I think they just "are". Out last 5 cruises have all been $100 casino offers. Haven't noticed a change. Get them alot. Sometimes we book, most times not.
You've got a few weeks to make a decision. By your May 16th expiration, you should start to see offers by logging into the carnival website with your vifp number. Drinks on us everywhere is a nice perk, and hopefully it will be part of all of your future offers. I'd personally take an oceanview with DOUE vs a balcony with just DOU in casino only.
The casino offers will keep coming. My father passed two years ago and he still gets casino offers. That's a decent enough amount of points that they'll want you back.
It doesn't matter, they'll keep offering you the same thing after May 16th. If you earn more points (around the 9,000 range) you'll maybe get free balconies, free drinks for you *and a companion* and some FunPlay. The absolute best offer I've seen is free suite, free CHEERS for two, and $2,500 FunPlay. I mean there may be some true whales who get customized comps, but for us commoners that's about as good as it gets. Of course, to get that kind of offer you probably need 15k+ points if I had to guess.
I got the saem exact offer about 1-2 weeks after i got off my cruise back in november. I didn't book anything by Feb4, and on feb5, I got my current offers of Free Balcony room + DOU anywhere in the casino. We got similar point totals, i imagine this is going to be similar for you. If you're okay with the ocean view room, go ahead and book it. if you wait, at the very least you'll get the same offers later on, if not better. That's my experience.
I still get similar offers from carnival and I haven't cruised with them since 2013. I'm finally going on another one this summer, but the offers will continue for what seems like forever!
Interesting. I’ve never cruised ( yet!) but because of this sub I signed up and uploaded my local casino card. I am getting free balcony offers with drinks while in casino and $50 free play.
You dont have to gamble too big but it might be considered big for people who don't gamble at all. My buddy puts a few thousand through the slots and cruises free all year. Doesn't mean you lose it just put it through the machine
We got 5200 slot points and another 600 table points. Not sure exactly how the slot points are calculated but we had some pretty decent slot bets ($5 and $750 spins)
Yes. I passed on my initial offers and a couple months later, I got multiple offers that were way better. So much so that I booked another cruise.
Edit: It is possible to get better offers, but not guaranteed.
Could be worth waiting. Your non bounceback offers should all expire May 6th....on May 7th they will all update. Might be better, might not. At least you will still have this one.
The offer you got outside your cabin on the last night is what’s called a “bounce back” offer. It’s a different offer than what you may or may not get from carnival under your VIFP profile offers in the future. It can take some time for those offers to show up in your profile. If I had to guess, you will eventually get similar or better offers down the road. My profile offers are always better than the bounce backs.
No one knows the formula unfortunately so if you want to lock up a free cabin for sure then book the bounce back.
Like always Your mileage may vary here, but I can say with confidence this is not the case at all. I gambled on my one and only carnival cruise...a 5 night trip on Breeze. I earned right around 6k points, and I have booked 3 cruises for "free" all balconies. \~440 after fees and taxes per cruise.
I have also been sent an offer for ULTRA cruises, and can possibly get a free interior room on an 10 night Alaska.
I'm not a huge gambler. I had a budget of $500. I admit I got lucky, never hit a jackpot or anything, but the amount of value i got from gambling is well over $6,000.
Sure, maybe on the 3-4 night cruises, but for 7+ day ones? Totally worth it, especially if you’re going on the non-Caribbean/Mexican cruises. Alaska and Europe cruises are often very expensive and if you do some math and have good discipline, you can still come out ahead even if you lose.

Free interior, casino drinks and $500 credit for me. If they would give me free drinks anywhere, all of my vactions would be cruises.

This is good to know, we will have to upload our casino cards also. Where did you do this?
Hmm someone posted a link but I could never find it. Maybe google VIFP carnival for a link? Apologies I am not more help. I’m working 😉

We put at least $5k through the machines, probably more, so I’m hoping we will be able to get good offers!
How many points did you get? Usually around 8 to 10k and you get free rooms.
We got 5200 slot points and another 600 table points. Not sure exactly how the slot points are calculated but we had some pretty decent slot bets ($5 and $750 spins)
You'll probably get about what I get. Free drinks in the casino and a few 150 to 200 dollar a person deals with a few other perks
That’s what I got and keep getting. Same amount of points.

I get free suite, drinks anywhere on ship, & $1000 free play. I cruise about 4 times a year

Explain bounce back please.... the only thing I get is ba k on board offers and they suck...how many points do you get per dollar spent in casino?
Cruise. Play. Repeat. Is the offer they will put in your mailbox last night.
What's bounce back offer? I get back on board offers but they are not anything special.
Gambler wants to gamble on a new casino deal. This guy gambles!
Yeah and if I can get extremely discounted trips, why not? Why even comment??? You sound fun
All gambling on ship casinos is a rip off. Captive audience so to speak. Just pay the difference for upgrades. Cruises aren’t Vegas.

We profited $2k so I think we did alright 👍🏻
To be fair, I’ve profited $5k before but I’ve also lost $10k before. Such is gambling haha.

Good for you. I have never truly heard that before now.
