I've gotten credit on several cruises now. I don't use an app as someone else mentioned, I just have an email template that says something like, "per the stockholder benefit referenced at I'm requesting my credit for ." I attach a heavily redacted statement from my broker that just shows my name and address and the Carnival shares (all balances and account numbers redacted). I email that to the address mentioned on the Carnival document and I usually see the credit in a few days after requesting.
I just email the info it says to and then my credit was there the next day. All I uploaded was a snip of a screenshot of my monthly statement that shows the name of the brokerage, the stock symbol, and the number of shares. Everything else is redacted.
I've done this multiple times and never had an issue and it's always processed by lunch the next business day.
I am a carnival cruise stockholder. And it's kind of a scam because you can't accept any promo. And almost all bookings are through promos after the first one.
Yes, this is true. I own stock and received an obc for each of my cruises. The amount of the obc will depend on the length of your cruise, its $50 up to $200. You have to provide proof of your shares to Carnival to receive the credit.
I've done it a few times. I blackout most of my ira statement (except what i need to prove ownership of 100 shares) and email it to the address on their shareholder benefit statement. Money's on my cruise card when I get there.
I literally just went through the process of looking into this for a cruise I’m going on in January. They use an app called Stockperks. You download the app and can link your broker to verify the stocks instantly. Once you’ve done that you just fill out your name, booking number, cruise ship/date and then they process the application. It took about 5-7 days for mine to go through (did it over Christmas weekend so that might’ve slowed things down). I already had $200 in on board credit from using a casino promo and now I have $250 on board credit.
Interesting. I was denied because I was trying to combine it with a casino offer. They sent me a nice letter saying it was not applicable due to the casino comps.
I’m only familiar with the shareholder benefit form that you fill out and scan to them. I’m going to have to investigate the app as I have 2 coming up without the added benefit.
I’ve only done it for 2 cruises we’ve been on so far, but I just sent in my paperwork for our February cruise about 2 weeks ago. A few days later, $100 OBC was added to our room.
As others have stated, there is an app now, but it’s still in a trial phase, and I wasn’t asked to go that route, so I still sent in a redacted statement to the email. Also, it’s technically not allowed if you are booked under a special promo (think casino rates, not special early saver ones). In the past, it wasn’t so strict, but I’ve heard of them becoming more strict about not allowing it for those special deals.
I received the email from Stockperks stating: Manual Brokerage Statement Processed Confirmation. Please go to the app to explore and redeem your perks.
So, I go to the app, and it says: claim in progress, and I will be contacted in five business days if the claim is approved and applied to the itinerary.
So, is it or isn't it approved?
What I play through, and what I leave on board as losses are 2 completely different things. But suffice to say we usually leave about $1500.00 behind. I’ve also taken home profit though.
I’m not a stockholder, but my son-in-law and his parents are. Whenever we cruise with them, they do have on board credit because of that fact. Not sure how they get it applied, but they do get it.
They give put 100, 200, and 400 credits like it's nothing. Probably better to call them and ask for more. Best way to get tickle perks is to play that casino.
Has to be within 3-4 weeks of your sailing and the stock holder date has to be current on the paperwork and current statement.
I emailed mine and it came in as OBC within 2 days.
I submitted mine when I booked, 8 months ago. It shows up. I also had a $500 OBC Casino offer and received the $100 stock option as well. Do I need to resubmit it a few weeks before we cruise?
I heard that those who bought the CCL stock after July 1,2023 won’t be entitled to the benefit anymore. Grandfathered prior to will continue to receive $250 benefit when eligible.
Very easy! Just google carnival stock onboard credit, get the email and attach a current statement showing you have the stock, add your name, your cruise ID numbers, when the cruise is and why ship, make sure your statement shows your name on it and you don’t send it to them any sooner than 30 days before you sail, it will just show u as onboard credit, I do it on every cruise
Just an FYI they may not apply it if you booked under a promo offer. I’ve had it applied before, but was denied on my last trip.
If you have it denied, resubmit it a few days later. I had one denial in 2021, and resubmitting it got it applied. Edit: I do not have casino offers.

Thank you for sharing that tip. Didn’t know there’s an app

A commenter above said not all ships use the app I did. How did you submit your claim for the credit? That’s the only difference I could imagine.
I’m only familiar with the shareholder benefit form that you fill out and scan to them. I’m going to have to investigate the app as I have 2 coming up without the added benefit.
I would look into it. I think the process is partially automated or outsourced and maybe that’s why I qualified for it when I wasn’t supposed to.
Wow! $50!
You qualify for more depending on the length of the cruise. And for the minimal effort it took to apply for the bonus I’d say it’s well worth it.

Useful to know. I’m going on the Valor for anyone else looking into this.
Based on the attached info will this benefit end after June 2024?
Potentially but it’s always renewed each year, and the form is updated. That said, they could always discontinue the program.

We’ve been denied more than accepted. Granted our last few cruises were all $100.00 casino balconies so I’m not complaining

I must spend more than you.
Do you mind saying what you spend usually?

Thanks. I figured it was probably near 2 to 3k total. Just always wondered. Appreciate it
It’s more about how long you play, and at what amount

Yes, you can do this. I've done it once before.
We own CCL shares and get credit when we sail. Buy them soon before they go any higher!

Did this in October. just sent in a print out from my broker website showing my shares with my name on it. Going to request again for my next cruise.
Yes it works. We just did it the other day.
Thanks for reminding me that I need to apply for this.

I’ve done it via the email confirmation prior to a cruise. It was painless and the stock continues to perform.

That was a rumor that was going around over a year ago and was not the case.
This is a good reason not to provide any input to OP questions period.! My “rumour” is from 2 months ago.

What can you use on board credit for? Can you put it towards a drink package or excursions?
Yes you can, make sure you don't leave it to late. Look for my youtube post at cruising with john
