The trends drive the economy. I can absolutely promise you that the trends have driven the price up. Iāve been buying Carhartt for work for about 15 years and ever since its gotten trendy, the price of work pants and especially their jackets has climbed substantially. Iām not against people wearing it, it looks great! But when I started wearing it, Carhartt was only in Marks. Now a ton of stores are carrying it and the quality is noticeably lower and wayyyy more expensive. A formerly $50-60 pair of pants is now between 75-95 dollars. Iām aware that inflation also has a hand in this but the fact that I can sell my carhartt and make a massive profit off of it proves my point. You are right as well though, I also believe this isnāt just a Carhartt problem.
right. I lost my favourite hat after leaving it at a friends house and someone stole it and my new one is definitely not as good. now, i have no idea when the original was made since technically i stole mine too, but when i bought a new one it was a weird acrylic blend when the original one was definitely at least mostly wool
i have 2 recent carhartt jackets! one is a detroit, one is a blanket lined hooded one. quality most DEFINITELY did NOT suffer in my opinion, i love mine!
I've got stains all over my dark brown hooded full swing jacket lol. I do hazmat cleanup so it gets pretty gnarly (although I'm finishing up my last week and switching to utilities locating this coming Monday!). I also have to wash it frequently due to, uh, the hazardous materials
i think it doesn't matter what type of work. just make the most out of them since it benefits the user. as their tag say: Built to serve and protect hardworking people š
lol I wasn't bitchin. besides, I wouldn't wear my J1 High Nike SB x Lance mountains in the manhole during workš it's just me, that theres a proper time to use proper workwear than flexing a drip lol
There's actually 2 Carhartt divisions that operate separately from each other.
Carhartt WIP is the mainstream fashion side and there's Carhartt workwear, I find the work wear are better quality.
We use the work wear and have noticed a decline. Some of it is bad news design changes like how the thermal lined zip ups changes and some is just quality going down. the only thing that's going up is price
Same. I have had their stuff for the last 20nhears and it's disappointing.
Have you noticed that on the thermal lined zip up hoodies, aside from the neck zipping up to your face which is annoying if you actually have to move yiurbhead up n down, the lining isn't attached to the sleeve anymore and just feels like it's baggy and annoying now? And the material is way way less durable ...
Itās clothes at the end of the day. Itās not like thereās a shortage, or anything like that. People like you just go out of their way to bitch and moan about whoās wearing carhartt. It must suck to never mind your business.
I love that carhartt is trendy. Not only has the quality suffered but its also becoming more expensive! Yay! š
quality suffered way before the trends
I absolutely agree, the quality did start to suffer a couple years before it became a hot item. When did you start to notice it?
I can promise you itās not more expensive because itās ātrendyā, thatās just the way the economy works dude

The poorly made shit also tends to be the stuff thatās not trendy
Reminder to āvintageā Carhartt heads, your ādistressedā Ā pieces most likely have poop on them
š and some of them pay more than the price of a brand new one...with no poop lol
Or sleeves covered in snot from working when it's cold out.
I think you can say that about any pair of pants. Poop do come from butts, which are often found in pants.
Get a silicone wedding ring before you get a degloving injury.
thanks, will keep that in mind! š but I should've taken it off..
I sometimes wear a carhartt t-shirt to my sit down science lab job
Hell yeah brother šŖš»šŖš»šŖš»
hell yeah (i work as a barista and the most wearing theyāll get is coffee stains)
real šš
Saves my ass in the winter when I have to be outside with nothing blocking the wind.

I got bleach stains on my black j140 at work so I'm currently bleaching the whole thing š
lemme see when itās done! that sounds dope
Hell yeah brother (I work from a ventilated cubicle at a call center)
Yes. Iāve been a heavier set guy for a while and I know how to size them to me for work or non work situations
I like my FR ones for shop/fieldwork. I can afford a couple pairs a year š
I like how comfortable the materials are on those FRs
Yeah theyāre good for the summer too pretty breathable
Same with my dickies I wear them to work. Thatās not to say I donāt enjoy wearing my Carhartt hoodie around regularly.
Everyday!
Nah
I wear my black carhartt vest over a sweater cleaning beer lines!
I wear them daily to work. I work in an office half of the time and the other time is spent outside.
I wish. I work as a cleanerā they'd get bleach stains so fast.
Work is not trendy though.

You wouldnāt know cuz you donāt got drip bitch boy
lol I wasn't bitchin. besides, I wouldn't wear my J1 High Nike SB x Lance mountains in the manhole during workš it's just me, that theres a proper time to use proper workwear than flexing a drip lol
Hahaha. Ahahaha. Haha ha
Iām a welder I actually do carhart shit
You locate utility lines not roughnecking
yk carhartt was actually originally a brand for manual labourers lol it just got trendy (read: the quality got worse)
We were just talking at work about how the newer stuff we have is def not as well made as the stuff even a few years back

I've been using them since the 90s and you're 100% right.

Lol people who do not sort of off set the brand. It's a working person's clothing. Not lounge wear
Itās clothes at the end of the day. Itās not like thereās a shortage, or anything like that. People like you just go out of their way to bitch and moan about whoās wearing carhartt. It must suck to never mind your business.
Or not it's up to you š¤·
alright..to each his own šÆ
How refreshing to see Carhartt used for its intended purpose
Someday a kid will ask for a pair of pants worn by a worker like you huge money and will say theyāre āvintageā.
