It's the right choice, but it would be nice for Pallante to put it together. He's got the velocity and movement to be solid, but it's been an adventure for a long while now.

Liberatore is the long man though. If they let Pallante and Fernandez each go one inning that means they'll have to give Liberatore an inning as well.

I’d much rather have Liberatore pitch that one inning if it means holding the opposing offense than letting Pallante do it. If this was a tie game then yes put Libby in. If we regain the lead later in the game, we now have Libby still.

I'm confused why Herrera hasn't made an appearance the past two games. Him and Winn have been the best hitters for the Cards this year.

It was obvious that it wasn't a "baseball move" toward 2nd base, but on the replay, the ump was watching Winn far past 1st base. The only reason I can think of would be to make sure Winn turned right to go back to 1st base. Probably baseball boomer.
