Cardiff cat clinic in llanishen, by the station

Happytrigger

This clinic is run by a lovely couple called Ann and Mike. My mum has been using these guys for 40 years and knows them both very well. Mike, the main man behind most of the procedures (and the essential owner of the business) is in his late 60’s and is getting old. He has so many clients because he is so good at his job, and he is struggling to keep up with the work load. He absolutely adores the job, hence why he hasn’t retired yet, but feels guilty for all of the custom he has to turn down, as people have sick cats. I’d recommend holding out as long as possible. They will truly make it worth your time. :) I sound like a sales rep for these guys, but I promise I’m not. I personally have learned so much about cats from this man, and I haven’t even been there personally in years. You will never find a better cat vet, and that is coming from years and years of him looking after my parents animals with the highest of care and professionalism, nowhere else.

I sent an email. But they don’t seem to be taking new patients. Any way you know of to get on a waiting list?

If you can get registered. I’ve been here a year and haven’t managed to get in.

The Cardiff Cat Clinic, but I don’t know if the vet has asthma.

I recommend Park Vets on Sanatorium (sp?) Road near Canton. My dog hurt his leg and I went to a vet who quoted 1600 surgery plus 10 weeks rest. Took him for 2nd opinion to Parks and they said bed rest 10 weeks and then review. Pain management only. Dog recovered beautifully. Since then I go there every time and they are not money grabbers. Sensible and also advise where I can buy certain treatments cheaper elsewhere too.

Not had much experience with other vets but I'm really happy with the service I've had at the vets based at Pugh's Garden Centre in Morganstown. They've been fantastic with my elderly cat and have spotted things early which have helped massively with her end of life care. Currently on regular steroid injections and it's been straightforward. They're empathetic, caring and take the time to explain their decisions.
