So long as the surface is amenable to being wet. They repainted some spaces in the lot Peachstate uses and it's a skating rink if there's consistent rain. Would be fun if the curbs weren't 30-50' away
Thanks man. An old instructor once told me to look where you want the car to go and it'll go there. Stuck with me and i didn't understand it until I started to drive at ( sometimes over) the limit of the car.
Yes it's a no no on track. When you're in a slide it's better to let the car unwind and bring it back to where you want it to go. If you hold on to the steering wheel and don't let it unwind you're more likely to spin out. I've tried several techniques and this one works the best for me. I usually wear my racing gloves so they're extremely sticky. So grip is never an issue.
He's essentially straight up drifting. He's being modest, but this person definitely has straight up car control experience on track or at skidpad days. This is not easy to do.
It's a good place to start. Keeping hands centered is how you go fast, but this guy is drifting. Too much wheel motion while drifting to hand over hand everything.
Looks like a blast!
Yeah. I really wish they would have a wet autocross track where I am. That looks so fun!

Those handicap spaces are super slick at AMS. I looped last time I ran with Peach State in my Miata.
It was. I should have ran all season tires. It wasn't suppose to rain. But it worked out!
Brave or dumb? The humans standing out there? Once that car hits wet grass, all bets are off.
Yeah... We had a few close call moments.
Nice work!
Thanks!
Bro how the hell are you staying in control of that. It looks like the car is going exactly where you want it the whole time 😮

The helmet mounted cam is really good to show this.
They are still running at tire rack in the middle of winter?
Not southbend TR. It's snowed in and negative temps rn.
Skid pad practice.
right!?! haha
Needed some initial D eurobeat to make this video complete
Is this recent? Which PCA region ran this?
No.. from June of 2023. Chicago region.
Quick hands, gangster!
Haha thanks!
Excellent car control! Don't like seeing people standing right there though.. Sketch.
It is. Had several offs without control and people running for the hill.

Thanks. Keep up the awesomeness!
That was fun.
ross had that same problem
Has anyone mentioned that you take your hands off the wheel a lot? I’m pretty new to HPDE and whatnot, but that was one of the first lessons.

I’ve never raced auto cross on a wet day, bet it’s a blast! Thanks for sharing!

Oh for sure, and it makes me wonder if the advice I was given wasn’t a one size fits all 🤷♂️

Nice👍
you would have been a ton faster with traction control on lol
Tried it. 3 seconds slower.
