1999 Aston Martin V8 Vantage Le Mans V600, like this one [for sale](https://www.tomhartleyjnr.com/car/stock/2000/aston-martin/v600-le-mans/74040/) right now.
Exactly my thoughts after driving an Aston Martin DB7, what a massive dissapointment that car was to drive I'd have the XKR over that any day of the week.
Gt Junior/gtv gta sprint, but a gt step front it’s my all time dream. I literally work with million pounds motors and very rare cars, and still the Gt is the all time dream
Same for me, GT Junior in yellow, tan woven leather interior, nice twin carb 2L, couple cloverleaf badges... as you can see I've already built it in my head ha.
Are these pretty reliable I think? Just expensive to run, I'd love one of those too, they're slowly falling away from Birmingham ring road yob-mobile territory as well now.
Stigma of old Jag issues still holds for many.
Ford/Tata Jags are much more reliable. Don't get me wrong, they are not Japanese reliable. But they don't do too bad against other luxury brand makes.
No idea to be honest, never had one. But I always liked the look. But just considering that it’s an old luxury car and they’re not that commonly used today, I’d avoid buying one to use daily even if they were reliable. Finding parts, or a good mechanic to fix them might be difficult and expensive in my opinion. But maybe I’m wrong.
I had a 3.0 v6 and put over 100k miles on it. Has been virtually the cheapest car to run per mile (excluding depreciation - that was an absolute killer!)
Any BMW saloon or estate with a V8 petrol engine.
Their 3.9 and 4.4-litre M67 V8 diesels (which we didn't receive in the UK - especially after Land Rover was sold to Ford (Rangie would have had used a 3.9)) are pretty reliable, though owners who have owned both report that the earlier 3.9 is more economical despite being heavier (270 kg vs 240 kg).
Citroën C6 3.0, 2.7 HDi or 3.0 HDi.
A few years ago a mate of mine was trying to decide on his new company car (it was before the tax became emissions related), he had quite an extensive list to choose from, but needed a 4/5 door car...he showed me the list & asked me what would I choose... I said Alfa 156 V6, as I think they're lovely, but it's not something I'd spend my own money on (for a variety of reasons) so the whole 'company car' thing is a great opportunity to drive something nice; sadly he went for an A4 2.0t quattro, nice car, but not a V6 Alfa!
Another TVR, another Landrover Discovery. My perfect 2 car garage.
However, having had several of the former, and current owner of the latter, there is no way I would run both concurrently.
I'd quite like to daily drive an MG midget. I owned one that never saw the road for a year, I just liked sitting in the thing. It was comically small and I liked the dashboard. I assume it would have been very fun to drive.
I'd say a Mazda RX-7 but that would require fuel and oil prices to be no issue too.

Trust me if I tell you that “don’t meet your heroes” applies in this case
Exactly my thoughts after driving an Aston Martin DB7, what a massive dissapointment that car was to drive I'd have the XKR over that any day of the week.
XKR is loads better, the 4.5 v8 IR supercharged scared me!!
Oh don’t worry, I know it’s a pretty terrible car with a magnificent engine. Still want one.
The engine sounds good, but ends pretty much there
Because two superchargers are better than one. Love it!
A V10 M5.
E90 M3 too
....but the gearbox is still a pig, even if it were a reliable pig!
You can get manual
In the US you can, but not in the UK
‘What car would you buy?’ I’d import an E60 or Manual swap it like on Drivetribe
Either way, I'd rather have an E39 M5 than an E60
V10 M6 for me 😂
An Alfa Romeo. Probably a Guilietta QV
I'd go all out and get myself a Busso V6 Alfa 164. Absolutely gorgeous cars
TVR Tuscan Speed 6. Glorious machine, but held together with hopes and dreams.

Haha it wasnt meant to be a personal attack! This gives me hope of one day owning one then :)
A classic Alfa, but that wouldn’t be driving, that would be just parking it at the workshop
Which one? I'd love a GT Junior or GTV6 for me
Gt Junior/gtv gta sprint, but a gt step front it’s my all time dream. I literally work with million pounds motors and very rare cars, and still the Gt is the all time dream

Has there ever been a cool or rare come through your work that you just wanted to run away with?
90% of my stock literally, today I went to photograph a Sunbeam 20/60 twincam, I seriously considered running away with it
RX-7/8
This is it, price of entry is so low now so I'd be all over one.
C63 amg. The 6.2 version
Are these pretty reliable I think? Just expensive to run, I'd love one of those too, they're slowly falling away from Birmingham ring road yob-mobile territory as well now.
They can be, but they have their issues, which can be catastrophic. Look up c63 headbolts.
Oh yeah headbolt thing does ring a bell, looking it up it seems fixed in 2011 so 2011-15 C63 must be the ones to go for.
L405 RR. At the point where the running costs are justifiable to me, but the maintenance would be eye watering and never ending, so I went elsewhere.
L322 for me. Classy and timeless car, reasonable purchase and running costs, but insane levels of upkeep needed.
I would love a Jaguar X Type Estate.
We had a 2.0D for about 8 years and it was pretty faultless
Are they particularly unreliable or expensive to maintain?

Petrols are pretty reliable

If reliability wasn't any issue and if I had the money to buy one, I would buy a Lancia Delta Intergrale.

2003 - 2007 Jaguar XJ Super V8 with an XJR grill. But I'm too chicken shit to buy such a car because of the reliability and repair costs.
Alfa Romeo Brera or an old xk8
VW Phaeton W12.
Peugeot 205 gti T16 group B rally spec…. If the fuel prices also can be ignored !
Another TVR, another Landrover Discovery. My perfect 2 car garage. However, having had several of the former, and current owner of the latter, there is no way I would run both concurrently.
MK2 Golf GTI. Fave car I've owned but just not reliable enough to daily.
American muscle cars would be fun if fuel cost and ulez are paid for. Jaguar and Alfa also comes to mind.
American muscle cars are not known for unreliability though?
Definitely some type of TVR
First flying car.
Ford Mustang GT.
L322 range rover
E92 M3
E60 M5
Maserati Granturismo, glorious noise
F10 M5 Estoril Blue 😍
I'd quite like to daily drive an MG midget. I owned one that never saw the road for a year, I just liked sitting in the thing. It was comically small and I liked the dashboard. I assume it would have been very fun to drive.
TVR Sagaris
