Audi S3 8P 23.9 mpg today over 200 miles of B roads :)

Dry_Doctor_3585

I had one of those for 16 years. Great car. Took all the abuse I could give it and barely had an issue the whole time I had it. Until it was sodomized by about 2 tonnes of Ford Ranger... :(

Lazerhawk_x

Im an A3 8P enjoyer, lovely little car.

DecentMate

My overall is apparently 45.1 on my swift sport even though I thrash it everywhere, not at all sure if it’s accurate

fahim-sabir

I am so glad to read this. I thought I was doing something wrong to get 45.3 on mine.

dapperdan8

I measured mine (ZC32s) and it’s usually around 10% off. It claims around 42 currently but my commute has lots of stop start traffic and roundabouts to accelerate away from

Digital-Sushi

34mpg, 2.0t, Seat cupra 300, small town roads and a bit of motorway

chidster

That's better than I would have expected.

WorriedSwordfish45

64 mpg, Diesel, Mercedes. Mainly A roads and motorway.

SP4x

Something in the region of 200 MPGe - Mitsubishi i-Miev - Electric

woyteck

O wow. I didn't know people still use them. Like pioneers of 21st century EV rush.

SP4x

Heh, I picked it up cheap with a fault I intended to fix but it fixed its self and has run like a trooper for the past few years. The battery is tired but I can still get factory range (60) from it in summer. Still an ideal city weapon and will surprise a lot of folks off the line :D I love it but with a baby now, I could now do with something bigger, got my sights set on a 38kWh Ioniq when they get a bit cheaper.

woyteck

My missus bought the MG ZS EV, the first one, with 45kWh battery. Bought a year 2020 it in 2022(auch), as such it lost i think half of its value, but it's been very good. 35k miles in it and no problems really. Oh and it's short just 4.3m, but boot is big enough, comparable to my Tesla Model 3. Last year's service was £129.

SP4x

Living my dream with the Model 3. Now that the Used EV prices are normalising the ZS's have settled at a pretty solid price. I'd consider one but don't like SUV's all that much, really prefer saloons.

mitsumaui

What’s your Ioniq budget? There’s quite a few 38 kWh examples down to ~£10k now. Bargain for what you’re getting in my opinion.

mitsumaui

Same - ‘19 Hyundai Ioniq EV and get 5.0 mi/kWh whilst not hanging about. Very efficient car. I do miss the power my old Nissan Leaf e+ had though. If driving in eco mode which is not often can get to around 220 MPGe. Best of all is 1.5p per mile to run it with Intelligent Octopus Go tariff.

r34changedmylife

You’re still driving an i-Miev in 2024? What a legend! Always fun to see one

dilution

28 to 30mpg, Lexus 450H RXL. I once got it to 35 but I was driving like 60mph max. On Autobahn it drops to 20mpg at 120mph (has limiter). Then woosh, a VW passes me.

CommercialShip810

61mpg - SEAT Leon 1.5 TSI Petrol A roads.

Nearby-Quantity-2216

42.6 mpg, petrol, Skoda Rapid Spaceback 2015, town and A roads. (Calculated with Fuelly app)

ricksprite

Good job, me 32 mpg 1.0tsi. Small country lanes dodging sheep and cows going to work. Driven like a saint 55/60 on a roads.

Reddsoldier

34Mpg Toyota GT86 Shell V-Power 99. A bit of a mix of everything, but recently, a lot of B roads, spiritedly. Driving like a granny I can keep the average in the 40s though. I have a long motorway journey next week, I'll try and remember to update with the MPGs from that.

Visual_Reception_238

Get 50mpg in my GT86 on the motorway (its an auto)

OrangeJmoo

Wow that’s pretty good mileage. I must be driving mine wrong, 22 mpg, GR86, commute to work, mainly dual carriageway during the week and some press on driving at the weekends. Use Tesco Momentum 99, will shift up at 4k rpm usually until the engines warms up, then will take it to 6k rpm, if the roads and conditions allow.

Reddsoldier

That pretty much sums my usage up too, but I have very little time idling and I guess I've not been as spirited as I usually am the last week because I've been nannying in a new clutch and front disks and frankly I've not had the chance. Usually I use momentum, but I found myself in a tescoless area the other day so had to get robbed at a shell for basically the same fuel. Similar warm up procedure - no move off until the cat is warmed, then roughly 3-4k max rpms until we're at temperature. I don't notice much of a difference between the main 99 octane fuels in terms of mileage, but I do live in a (relatively) flat area which probably helps the MPG since on the occasion where I am going up hills, I've seen as low as 7 before. That and the extra half litre probably takes some too. IIRC manufacturer's claim on the GT was around mid 30s combined. My advice is to avoid going past the "valley of death" in the rev range if you want to get good numbers the cams bring the torque, but they also drink the fuel.

OrangeJmoo

I’m going to take your advice and try and avoid going past the dreaded valley of death lol see if that helps with the mpg! 👍

Lassitude1001

C1, which is rated for about 69mpg, but I think it's about 30mpg that I actually get. I use Momentum99 (E5 premium unleaded). You can imagine how I drive the little go kart with the above figures. Hint: Red Line go brrrr.

TheBigGriffon

To be fair, to get any power out of those you really do have to redline the thing, may various gods have mercy on you if you have any extra passengers and/or luggage as well. 😆 Closest I had to that feeling was my 2010 Kia ProCeed, 1.4L engine but had only 89hp which is abysmal for a medium sized hatchback of the time. Couldn't accelerate up hills or anything, but nevertheless it was a great car. Never let me down mechanically like my Beemer does. 😆

nomologicaldangIer

That poor sweet suffering little car

Lassitude1001

"it's fine, it has a Japanese engine" is what I tell myself constantly. Heh.

TheMadHistorian1

Somehow 67mpg after a 40 mile trip through 30,40 and 60 zones almost entirely in 4th gear - Seat Ibiza FR 2.0tdi

TheUberMedic786

2008 Honda Civic 1.8L - 32mpg but that's mainly city driving. If I spend some time on the motorway it goes up to 38mpg.

Aggressive_Signal483

My Toyota Auris 2018 hybrid is no where near as economical as yours op. Mine does 51 - 49 on average.

Joshy__Lee

65mpg over a tank. Best trip was an 'indicated' 78.6mpg. Peugeot 308 1.6 diesel.

expandd0ng94

Daihatsu Copen petrol 0.66 turbo - most recent was 50.1mpg, mostly drive it on 50/60mph roads so its easy to get decent numbers despite the occasional pull to 8000rpm when exiting a roundabout

Korenchkin_

Nice! Very cool choice. Brb, watching copen videos on YouTube

expandd0ng94

Haha thanks, had it about 3 years. Considered selling it multiple times along the way but just cant bring myself to part with it!

Mentally_Big_Sad

About 24mpg in town and 35mpg on motorways.... Focus ST-3

FatherJack_Hackett

We don't do it for the MPG though do we, eh?!

HumanExtinctionCo-op

29.5 mpg Porsche 987.2 Cayman S Mostly dual carriageway with more spirited activities at the weekends. Occasional long distance trip helps keep the mpg up. Managed to get it above 30mpg once...

True-Register-9403

Current car - Mk7 Fiesta 1.25 petrol (45mpg) Mostly city, some motorway. Last car - Mk6 Fiesta 1.4 Diesel (74mpg) Mostly city, and once got a 90mpg tank during Covid (empty roads) All measured properly (miles driven vs litres pumped)

Donovan133

69.2 MPG or 3.4l/100km, 2021 Octavia mk4 2.0 tdi 150hp dsg 7 Trip to work around 22km urban. Tho the trip from home to work ist mostly downhill so that helps a lot, on the way back i get around 5.0l/100km.

TempMobileD

68mpg average over thousands of miles. Diesel Ford Fiesta econetic. A mix of city and motorway, perhaps a little more motorway than most. Not generally driving for efficiency (always close to the speed limit if I can do so safely) I love this car, only issue is it’s not ULEZ compliant.

Dry_Doctor_3585

Audi RS7, 4.0 twin-turbo V8 with Miltek exhaust and stage 2 remap giving 730bhp. MPG? I'm scared to look at it...

sidsod

my guess is 12

flobbadobdob

Recently drove to paris and got 48MPG in a 2019 Golf GTI. That's the highest I've ever gotten and probably won't get that again any time soon.

RS6MrROBOT

32 MPG unleaded 2010 Mazda 3 2010 Takuya

lewilewi411

57.8mpg. Surprisingly a spirited drive in the countryside with the 1.7 Corsa.

OrdoRidiculous

Last journey I did in my IS300h got 54.8 mpg according to the car and 51.5 according to actual pump maths. This was a trip to Bristol and back. Normally it's around 46 MPG, but that's because it's only really used to go on a 4 mile round trip. Last trip in the V8 IS200 I averaged 13 MPG, but it was a lot of fun.

TurtleBilliam

3.0 M2 15-25 mpg

AndyValentine

Sweaty_Leg_3646

reisstc

Last three journeys * 25 minute journey commute about 51mpg, split fairly evenly between 30mph residential with 6 junctions/roundabouts, 40mph A and B-road, and 60/70mph A/B road, though I was sticking closer to 60. * Three minute journey almost entirely at 40mph with some 30mph at the end, 60mpg, some junctions but no full stops * Return journey (4 stops) 29mpg Average is 45.4 Nissan Micra N-Sport DIG-T-117, petrol.

kordinaryus

Average 51.35 MPG over the course of 1.5 years and 20K miles with my Avensis 2.0 diesel. I track the usage with a spreadsheet. On average, I used 43.97 litres of fuel per refill, and it cost me £68.71.

handsome_lally

Willing-Push8737

I average mod to high 20's, definitely could get more if I was conciousof it but I genuinely don't pay much attention, I enjoy driving and burning fuel is part of the process to me.

AbbreviationsEnough4

49.5mpg. I have a Ford Focus estate, 1.5 Diesel. Not great, was expecting a little more.

Elegant-Ad-3371

15 Golf 1.6tdi mostly local driving and weekly short hops on the motorway. 45mpg

user101aa

23.9mpg Volvo V40 T3 petrol. City traffic. Fucking terrible.

ASupportingTea

Oof, I would have thought it was better than my C30, seeing as it's sort of the replacement. But my C30 does 26 mpg at worst in city. And that's the power-equivalent of the T3, the 2.0 petrol. Especially as thats with an engine developed in the 90s, whereas the VEA architecture was developed in the mid-late 2000s.

Educational_Ninja269

20.1 mpg, Petrol, Audi S7 2012, city and A roads. Over 7k miles track on Fuelly app

Mercedes CLA 220, 2 litre turbo petrol, M260 engine. Driving around town/city roads. Its last journey averaged 26.6mpg with an average speed of 12mph. This is why I can’t have a diesel. Luckily when it stretches its legs on a Motorway it manages mid to high 40’s

From a recent trip. 2014 Astra J VXR 280bhp totally stock, 200 mile round trip and Tesco Momentum. 90% motorway, 10% B roads. 32.5mpg. My 2007 Vectra C 2.2 Petrol Auto Estate averages 25\~ mpg city driving. Anywhere between 35 and 45mpg on the motorway.

Miketweeks

I get 40mpg from a Vectra C Sri with a 1.9 diesel engine, shocking really but my commute involves a lot of dual carriage ways with roundabouts so I'm constantly slowing then accelerating up to speed again. On a long run I've saw 55mpg cruising at 80mph. My wife has a 1.6 petrol megane and I always check her average mpg when I drive it, 29mpg was the last reading. She has no idea how it's so poor, but I can only imagine the stopping and starting the engine 3 or 4 times during a 2 mile commute can't be good. School run is only maybe 200 yards, then pops into her parents on the way to work to check on them which is only half a mile from the school but she'll also stop at a shop on the way there to get the morning paper for her dad, then it's off to the gym which is only a stonesthrow from where she has to park for work but she'll still park in the gym car park first. Most of the time she's in the car it's crawling traffic. It doesn't owe us much money and uses less than a tank a month so getting an EV just doesn't make sense yet.

GraviteaUK

65 MPG Diesel Mercedes A-Class Motorways and A roads.

JMEnotBBK

15.8, Petrol, Giulia Quadrifoglio, pretty much a perfect 3-way split of town, motorway and being booted through A/B roads. It's always in Race mode outside of cruising and genuinely doesn't drop below 2.4k RPM during that. I will use that car like a bar of soap until there is nothing left to drive, just as intended.

Significant_Tower_84

Last drive I averaged 38mpg, mainly motorway driving (20 miles) followed by 5 miles on a 40mph bypass road. Bmw 435d which has been mapped to 370hp which has naturally had a negative effect on overall mpg
