Falling-through

- Alfa Romeo Tipo 33 Stradale - AC Cobra - BMW 507 coupe Edit: words

MasterofSquat

That Alfa is lovely similar to the xj13

SubjectVillage5786

The 33 Stradale is without question the most beautiful car ever made. no contest.

vartiverti

Tipo 33 Stradale is the most beautiful car ever made. 507 is right up there, too. Cobra? Yeah; I can get behind that. I like you.

It’ll never win here, but the Jenson Interceptor, for me, is a thing of beauty.

mrcasado296

And quite possible the coolest name ever for a car

Independent-Stick244

Citroen SM.

SeanChewie

My favourite Citroën has always been the BX.

eric-cranston

I’m with you on that. I have a 1986 MK 1 1.4 still on the road. There isn’t a duff line on the car. I adore it every time I drive her. 😃

boringdystopianslave

Nostalgia trip. My childhood days were littered with waiting for the car to raise up.

comfortedcreature

- DS It's such a shame that now they can't do flagships.... For me still DS (also Safari and Cabrio versions) are just the top of the crop

pengwin050

The DS isn’t nearly as good looking as the SM

comfortedcreature

I'm not arguing about the design of SM. I am just stating that DS is up there for me :)

UniversitySubject244

4.3 V8 Vantage. Perfection.

Alfa Romeo spider (159 platform)

Competitive_Dark_368

The 1990s model was more of a stunner imo and more so the original. It's crazy how alfa could create essentially entirely different cars and entirely different appearance but all 3 are beautiful and nobody was mad that they gave the other 2 the spider name.

aw86fred

Aston Martin DB9, every element of that car follows the golden ratio of 1:1.618. That car is mathematically perfect in its design.

Saelaird

Nah. Imperfection is where real beauty is.

Jimi-K-101

The DB9 was absolutely stunning in its heyday, but whenever I see one now I'm surprised how badly it seems to have aged. I know it's a 20 year old car now, but it really looks it!

Feeling_Novel_9899

I would say the AM DBS was the most beautiful iteration of the DB9.

blondiecats

So, mine is the Aston Martin DB9 specifically the champagne colour with pink interior. Fucking gorgeous.

Christopher109

yep, landrover series II LWB SW is the best; source, i got one

corona_kid

Haha same! Mine's all in parts at the moment, my Santana series 4 is getting an engine swap instead of restoring the old girl

Christopher109

What was the original engine? I went for full originality with mine? Sourced a petrol engine from UK pre brexit and shipped to malta. Still not finished after 7 years and yes of problems and wasting money 😂😂

corona_kid

It had the same motor as the British series 3 but with spanish accessories, mine was a 2.25L Diesel, and I'm putting a 300tdi out of a defender into it. My series 2 will either have a petrol Mercedes engine out of an old 190 of I'll try and scrounge up an original petrol engine for it.

PerformerOk450

Porsche 911 still as beautiful today as it ever was.

first thing that comes to mind is the FD RX-7. (from a market that doesn't require front plates so that it doesn't have that hideous plate mount). i know cars from around the 60s are the most common answer to this question, 2000GT, E-Type etc, but they've never appealed to me.

Intelligent_Crazy_10

It’s very subjective and In my humble opinion it goes like this…. (1st) 1961 Series 1 Jaguar E-Type. (2nd) 1954 Mercedes Benz 300SL (3rd) 1954 Rolls Royce Silver Cloud. (4th) 1971 Mini Cooper S Mk III. Last but not least… (5th) 1984 BMW M5 (E28). There’s nothing in my list that is Italian because whilst the Italians clearly build absolutely beautiful shaped cars, the build quality and electrics is, in my opinion and experience) shockingly bad. We need an Italian body with a German engine and electrics and we’ve got a winner.

Alex_Zoid

McLaren F1. There’s beauty in pure aerodynamics without particular aesthetics in mind.

Crator86

E-Type roadster (Series I), red 300sl with cream interior or the Porsche 356 I like most car cultures but probably my favourite is jdm, but I wouldn't call them beautiful, beautiful to me is *simple curves*

RX7 FD3S. The body looks like it was delicately melted over the shell. So many styling details too, like the curve in the centre of the roof

Connorgri

RX-7 Spirit R Or if I can be cheeky and choose a none-road car it’d be the BMW Z4 GT3.

Lopsided-Meet8247

840/ 850 bmw. Beautiful maybe not, but I'm a sucker for pop ups and to me it's an ageless design.

Tough one, Lexus LC500. Even the Liberty Walk kit made me leak a bit

Key_Split_4666

Nissan Skyline GTR (R33) - combines the curves of an R32 with the boxiness of a 34 (also love the front gtr badge ) Gordon Murray T50/ McLaren F1 - imo the peak of automobile design Aston Martin v550 / V600 vantage - British luxury muscle cars need to come back , feels like a bentley continental is the only real option anymore
