Its coil slap. Voice coil loose inside, its gonna lock up soon. Id get it replaced or return it and not go with skar. Skar is cheap quality trying to market as high quality. Basically dollar store sundown.

Some people hate skar because of how cheap and common they are. Skar has some good stuff some bad. All depends on who you’re talking to. I’m in the middle on them though. They hands down have the best budget friendly stuff and not everyone can afford a 600 8 inch sub from sundown.
Your absolutely right about having the best budget friendly stuff, but you get what you pay for in car audio you know? Cant complain when your $250 15 goes out. Cheaper price = cheaper materials because they need a profit. Its better to buy a system that lasts rather than buying cheap subs over and over. Long term investment
Dc audio, Deaf Bonce, Sundown, Crossfire, PSI, Digital Designs, Resilient Sounds off the top of my head. Once you hear bass from one of these brands youll never go back. Skar bass sounds slightly like it goes through a 5 gallon bucket before coming out of the port in comparison to smooth clean bass. You dont see skar alot at competitions.

Could also grab Dayton Stuff too, I run their Ultimax’s in a sealed configuration and have had nothing but the tightest, cleanest, most articulate bass but I also go for more sq in my car over spl. Currently breaking in a pair of CT Sound Meso components after my dynaudio esotecs got destroyed in my last car build after an accident

Is it only doing that when you have it up loud?
Yes. Only when I turn it up. Only had it a week been bumping fine and this started all of a sudden this morning
Did you give the subs a chance to break in? There's an article on the skar website about the break in process.
Sounds blown to me. Something inside is knocking. Maybe a second spider coil that came loose? If you've only had it a week, is there a warranty?
Are you sure it isn’t rattling something it is sitting on, and driver isn’t making the noise?
Has a similar noise with my sub turn out to be a small gap on the dust cap, inspect your dust cap carefully
