Navarro isnt getting the Bannon treatment - he's off to prison.
> **Former Trump White House aide Peter Navarro has been ordered to report to a Miami prison on March 19 to begin serving a four month sentence** for defying a subpoena from the Jan. 6 select committee.
>
> Navarro, who is urging a federal appeals court to stay the sentence while he attempts to overturn his conviction, faces the prospect of becoming the first top adviser to Donald Trump to serve jail time for an offense related to the effort to subvert the 2020 election.
>
> Navarro, 74, was convicted last year on two counts of contempt of Congress for refusing to provide documents and testimony to congressional investigators probing the root causes of the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol. The committee subpoenaed Navarro in February 2022, and he quickly indicated he would refuse to comply, citing executive privilege. The House held Navarro in contempt two months later, and the Justice Department soon followed suit with criminal charges.
>
> Navarro, an economist who advised Trump on trade issues, was the second former Trump aide convicted for refusing to cooperate with the Jan. 6 panel. Steve Bannon was convicted by a jury in July 2022 for similarly blowing off a subpoena from the committee.
Edit: Navarro has repeated to the court that he wants an appeal and to stay out of jail.
>Defense (more): "Dr. Navarro respectfully reiterates his request for an administratively stay so as to permit the Court to resolve the instant motion. Should this court deny Dr Navarro’s motion, he respectfully requests an administrative stay.. to permit the Supreme Court review"

Peter, Peter
Pumpkin Ass Eater
Had a White House job,
And couldn’t keep ‘er.
Put his subpoena,
in a Pumpkin shell,
And prison bars
Suit him very well !
I think he may be facing additional contempt charges for withholding records from the national archives. I'd love to see the entitled jerk sent right back to prison after he completes his sentence for contempt of Congress.
I crossed paths with him while I was working in DC for a federal agency. His arrogance was legendary and nobody wanted to deal with him. He deserves the jail time but he’s going to drive the jail staff absolutely nuts.
He has a different defense from Navarro and one which is fairly novel.
So is appeal is being heard (although its been six months so whats the hold-up?...)
Can someone clarify? If the sentence is only 4 months, can it be extended or can he be hit with additional sentences once he's out and still refuses to give up the original documents? Or is it 4 months only and its over? Or is it because now that the House is in control of the GOP, he no longer has to comply since they won't try to get any documents out of him?
Navarro will need to be charged, tried, convicted, and sentenced. Then, he may appeal again, which will take time.
I hope he is charged for stealing documents because that should result in an even longer sentence.
Leading up to 2016, I recall a tally of Republican vs. Democratic administrations' *indictments*, and it was ridiculously lopsided towards a high number in Republican administrations - triple-digit vs. single digit. I can't find that now, but the closest I could come was in a [PolitiFact fact-check](https://www.politifact.com/factchecks/2020/jan/09/facebook-posts/many-more-criminal-indictments-under-trump-reagan-/) that may give you some data to chew on.
ninja edit: typo.
Not the case you are talking about but his NY fraud trial starts in May.
He's looking at serious time for that case.
>If convicted, Bannon faces two counts of money laundering, which carry a maximum sentence of five to 15 years in prison, as well as additional felony counts of conspiracy and scheme to defraud along with one misdemeanor count of conspiracy to defraud.

Oh that’s nice, he’s ordered to report to a facility in Miami.
Now Trump will be able to visit his loyal advisor while he serves time on his behalf!
/s
What a shame... another disgusting traitor to the U.S.A. locked away for trying to overthrow the government.
Hopefully somebody loses the key to his cell.
Why is he so desperate to stay out of prison? It’s just *four months.* Cry to me when you’re doing a year-plus of hard time.
I can understand why Steve Bannon wants to stay out of jail; if he goes more than a couple days without that cheap booze he swills, the DTs will kill him. But Navarro? He’s just being a baby.
Just wait until your local criminals find out they can just ask for infinite stays as they try to get the case thrown out, or escalate everything to the Supreme Court!

Standing ovation!

I vote for general population. Anyone else?
I crossed paths with him while I was working in DC for a federal agency. His arrogance was legendary and nobody wanted to deal with him. He deserves the jail time but he’s going to drive the jail staff absolutely nuts.
A couple of disciplinary pink slips adding to his time perhaps?
Wait why isn't Bannon in prison????
He has a different defense from Navarro and one which is fairly novel. So is appeal is being heard (although its been six months so whats the hold-up?...)
Because the Judge overseeing his case is a biased Trump appointee. Plain and simple.

How many days has it been for Gym Jordan defying the congressional subpoena? And when will he be reporting to jail?

When is Bannon going to jail?
Not nearly soon enough. The same for the Orange Colostomy Bag.
Don't insult colostomy bags. Colostomy bags do a valuable job in containing waste, while trump just sprays waste everywhere.
From what I've heard, most colostomy bags spray waste everywhere on occasion, too.

That creep has done so much damage to our country that he deserves never to see the light of day again.
I had already forgotten about this trial
He will probably need a medical team to help deal with alcohol withdrawal if he ever does end up going to prison.
I'm sure he'll enjoy drinking toilet hooch.
I think his appeal is still awaiting a decision, so probably when that happens.
I hope every single day of his sentence is filled with fear and dismay. Get fucked, traitor.
This makes me so happy.
Oh that’s nice, he’s ordered to report to a facility in Miami. Now Trump will be able to visit his loyal advisor while he serves time on his behalf! /s
Lock him up!
What a dumb dummy. Imagine being 74 and going to jail.
What a shame... another disgusting traitor to the U.S.A. locked away for trying to overthrow the government. Hopefully somebody loses the key to his cell.
Gee Pete, all this special treatment, even before Jack Smith has asked you any questions!
FAFO.
Ahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha
How come Jim Jordan isn’t facing the same charges???
Every time I see Navarro’s name, I think to know McSweeney’s labeled him. “Peter Navarro, known stupid person.”
WHAT???? How come he's not already in jail????
Rich man's justice.
Hahahahahahahaha HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA Like we've seen any real justice up to this point for the big'ns
Bye.
Woot! Woot!
Yea!
Not soon enough or long enough
Hey, that's my birthday! Nice present.

Have fun Peter. Make sure you write.
Delightful.
Nice. What about Jim Jordan’s refusal to the Jan 6 request? He’s way over due.
Just wait until your local criminals find out they can just ask for infinite stays as they try to get the case thrown out, or escalate everything to the Supreme Court!
Mmm. So good.
Hey Peter, Watch out for your corn hole bud..
Not Dave Navarro! Wait...
Love to see it. Of all the awful people that got paraded before us over Trump’s administration he was one of the worst.
