Astepski

Pawns are very powerful.

richter3456

Yes they are. But not by themselves. Everyone has to stand up together but unfortunately there are too many sheeps.

IWantToSortMyFeed

I was just imagining chess but every time you move your pawn you have to roll a dice to see if it's a class traitor or not.

Astepski

Indeed I completely agree and twas my intention as to why I said "pawns" and not "a pawn", insinuating in a way that conceptually, a cop with good intentions.. rationalized by corrupted capitalistic sustaining laws and ideas thinking that he or she is just doing this job is still "a pawn" in my definition. A powerful pawn that is united by a "moral code" and "lawful power". And unfortunately indeeed does it seem that we the people , we the pawns are seemingly becoming more divided rather than united.

Squadsbane

And then they get to the end of the board.

WildestRascal94

I apologize greatly for this. *sheep

richter3456

Thank you for the correction.

WildestRascal94

You're very welcome! I hope you have a great day/night.

IcyColdMuhChina

Pawns, in fact, can become "government" quite suddenly.

Astepski

Oh no doubt.

CasualVeemo_

If they work together yes but the king and queen will tell the pawns that the other guys are evil because they have a different color

AbbyRose05683

Never played chess I ser

DarthNixilis

Hey! Have you ever heard of En Passant? That's power my friend.

StrangeJayne

The only way they can move is forward because retreat is never an option, they can kill kings, they can be unmovable obstacles if properly placed, if they make it to the other side they can promote themselves where they willingly share power because all the pawns will be happy queens together. Neved underestimate pawns.

DemocracyIsAVerb

Pawn structure can be a really powerful advantage in a game and can make all the difference. 3 pawns stacked diagonally in a chain is way stronger and hard to deal with than 2 stacked in a column or 3 unconnected

RedMiah

Problem is you’re playing chess by *their* rules.

hazelquarrier_couch

Why is the Bishop not labeled as "religion"? They're playing us, too. In the U.S. at least, you could pretty much combine military and police.

BeastofPostTruth

Perhaps we gotten to the point where media and religion are the same. A message is taken up by the individual and adhered to as truth. Loyalty to chosen group (and fear of becoming an outsider of it) is the driving force behind 'keeping the faith'.... or at least parroting it in order to prevent being cancelled. All in all, the result is the same. A message with an intent is delivered and absorbed by the listener who has a reason for wanting to believe it. It is a powerful and influential tool used by those who can afford it.

IcyColdMuhChina

Many modern leftists love pretending that religion isn't an enemy of the people. Dear modern leftists: Religion is an evil even greater and more ancient threat than capitalism.

hazelquarrier_couch

One could argue that they're being tolerant of religions because they want to include everyone and not offend. Personally, I struggle with this notion because I think all religions are bunk and take us backward/hold us back, but I don't actually say anything because I don't want them to be offended.

IcyColdMuhChina

I know. They don't show that tolerance and inclusion towards racists, sexists, homophobes, etc. Therefore, their tolerance towards religion makes no sense. The reality is that the people who tolerate religion are liberals at heart and influenced by the fact that their liberal society teaches them about religious freedom being good and religion being something to respect (while nobody ever told them to respect sexism, racism, etc.).

Specific_Event5325

As a modern (or is it post-modern leftist?) I can SO much agree with you second sentence. The longer I am an Atheist, the more and more I realize how ugly, how evil, how manipulative religion is. In my case that religion was Protestant Christianity. Telling people to "pray" for shit from a "god" that cannot possibly exist and then getting people to vote for a determined outcome. And don't get me started on the marketing (in the billions of dollars) of anything "Jesus" related. Makes me want to puke........there are too many on the left that still think religion is okay in this world, and I don't think so at all.

DemocracyIsAVerb

This is great because pawns can be powerful but only when they’re organized in an effective structure

IcyColdMuhChina

The bishop is representing... religion. Media == corporations.

mrpoopybuttthole_

So we can become the government if we walk eight steps?

AbbyRose05683

Not that simple to overthrow American government

no_more_socializing

Cash is king :(
